Find Relate Initiate Encounter Nurture Dedicate Serve (A journey into a life of friendship with God, oneself, and others) Phase Two (3) initiating the journey (The Way of the Cross) God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love with which he loved us, (Ephesians 2:4) In order to become aware of the inner patterns and guiding images we all carry, we need to stop and look. This will need times of being alone with ourselves in order to grow in wholeness. This is essential so that we can also be there for others. This aloneness is a transformative, pregnant waiting. It is not the same as loneliness, which carries with it feelings of lack, desperation and incompleteness. We dare not postpone living, waiting for our dream to materialize and for our present life to pass. This invitation to deepen intimacy with God and ourselves is done reverently. Week 7 : Resurrection Hope and encouragement In this world of pain, sorrows and tears, Easter reminds us that life is worth living. It is our belief in the Real Presence of the Risen Jesus in our souls, in His Church, in the Blessed Sacrament and in Heaven that gives meaning to our personal, as well as to our common prayers. Our trust in the allpervading presence of the Risen Lord gives us strength to fight against temptations and freedom from unnecessary worries and fears. We are to be bearers of the Good News of Resurrection power. Resurrection is Good News, but at the same time, it s sometimes painful because it involves death. Before the power of the Resurrection can take hold in our own lives, we re called to die to sin, to die to self. We may even have to die to our own dreams, so that God can do what He wants to do with our lives. Resurrection is about seeing our world in a new way. Why is this (Easter Vigil) night different from all other nights? What was it like for the disciple who had stood at the cross of Jesus and then laid him in a tomb on Good Friday, to come back three days later and discover that the sealed tomb was now empty? What did John see in the tomb that led him to believe in the resurrection of Jesus? Do you accept the good news of Jesus' death and resurrection with skeptical doubt and disbelief or with trusting faith and joyful wonderment? How do we encounter Jesus Christ our Lord this Easter of 2016? How does he encounter us? On the basis of this Easter celebration, what is your goal in life and where is your heart? Fr. Arockiam Zevier Hirudayaraj, HGN, The Parochial Vicar for IC-OLPH Parishes
