After worship, parents may pick up children in the Children s Church Classroom, which is on the 3 rd floor, first room on the right. Upcoming We welcome Michael Krauter as our guest preacher today while Darryl is on vacation. Michael was born in Canton, Ohio and became a follower of Jesus when he was 16 years old. He has lived and served in racially and ethnically diverse neighborhoods in Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Boston before moving to Charlotte in 2010. He is married to his loving wife, Ashley, and they have two wonder-filled daughters - Zoe Grace and Dorothy Ann with another girl expected in November. Michael serves as an ECO pastor at large in the Charlotte area helping build a non-profit network called ForCharlotte (www.forcharlotte.org/), which connects local churches across denominations, races, economics, and languages to be a church united for the good of the city. For his day-job, Michael serves as the manager over the three Nothing But Noodles restaurants in Charlotte. Farrar & Cindy Griggs wanted to thank FPC for prayers and announce: Reese and Ellie (Griggs) Walker are the blessed parents of a 7+ lb baby girl, Malia Michelle Walker, born a month early on July 13 in Puerto Rico. They all survived the zyka virus threat and months on bedrest. They are doing well & 2 yr old Jaylen is adjusting to big brother status. Again, thank you for your prayers. Summer Sunday School: Summer Stories for youth and adults 9th grade and up - The men will meet in the Session room and the women will meet in the Drummond classroom. SHINE for children 3 years - 4th grade is led by a rotation of teachers during the Sunday School hour in the Children's Church room on the 3rd floor. Hands on Psalms for youth in grades 5 through 8 will be led by Tracy Caskey in the 5 th & 6 th grade classroom on the 3 rd floor. We express our joy for Adam and Tracy Caskey who have generously consented to be our interim Directors of Youth and Children. Volunteers are needed to teach Children s Church. All volunteers that work with children must have completed training. A sign up sheet is located on the bulletin board outside the church office. Labeled folders for each week s lesson are located in the children s church classroom on the 3 rd floor of the Education Building, so if you sign up for a week, please remember to pick up the folder for the week you signed up for.

Genesis Sunday will be on August 21. There will be a church-wide breakfast at 9:00 a.m., Teacher Appreciation and introduction to all Sunday School classes at 9:30, then we ll go to our Sunday School Classes at 10:00 a.m. Mark your calendars! If you would like to contribute flowers for worship, please see the sign-up poster on the bulletin board just outside the church office. The cost for an arrangement is $56.
