Parents should be registered and active members of the Parish. SACRAMENT OF MATRIMONY: The Bride and Groom should call the Parish Office at least six months before the date of the marriage. Please bring recent copies of your Baptismal certificate. Those under 21 should not set a marriage date until Diocesan permission has been obtained. PASTORAL CARE OF THE SICK: We want to assist those who cannot celebrate Mass with us because of illness, age or handicap. If you or a family member desires to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation, Eucharist or Anointing of the Sick at home or in the hospital, please call the PARISH OFFICE. In the event of an upcoming surgery, call the Parish Office to arrange a mutually convenient time for Anointing. By LAW, hospitals cannot notify us when parishioners are admitted. If you or a family member is hospitalized, please notify us. PARISH MEMBERSHIP: We ask every member of the parish to be properly registered. All adults should have and use envelopes. Church 20 Page Ave, Cohoes, NY 12047 Rosary & Novena Rosary Christmas Party Rosary Meeting CHRISTMAS FLOWER MEMORIAL BROCHURE: This year, instead of listing Christmas Flower Memorials in the weekly bulletin, a Christmas Flower Memorial brochure will be compiled and available at the Christmas Masses. Please submit your Christmas Flowers envelope as soon as possible to have your loved one(s) listed in our Christmas Flower Memorial brochure. Names will be listed alphabetically by the person who submitted the envelope. Ample time is needed to prepare this brochure, therefore the deadline for submitting names to appear in the brochure will be the weekend of December 16 th and 17 th. Christmas Flower envelopes received after that weekend will have their memorials appear in weekly bulletins as space permits. CHRISTMAS PAGEANT Signup sheets for the Nativity Pageant will be in the back of the church or by contacting Roseanne Kryjak at rkryjak@nycap.rr.com. Rehearsal will last one hour and be on December 2 nd, 9 th and 16 th at 5pm pm for the cast except for the choir of angels. The choir of angel rehearsal will be December 9 th at 5:30pm. A dress rehearsal will be held on the last weekend in December. Costumes are provided by the parish. Additional information will be provided upon registration. Children do not need to be a member of the Parish to participate. CALENDAR OF EVENTS Tuesday, 6:30pm December 3, 2pm January 18, 6pm NEWS FROM OTHER ORGANIZATIONS The Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet in Latham are seeking a part-time office assistant to provide support to the Province Leadership Team under the direction and guidance of the Province Leadership Executive Assistant/ Office Manager. This is a part-time position, typically Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8am to 4pm, however, it is flexible and can be adapted to suit someone who is seeking to work during school hours, i.e. 9am to 3pm. The Volunteer Services Department at St. Peter s Hospital is looking for motivated individuals who are currently Extraordinary Ministers. Faith Formation News Director: Kathy Burns (518)237-0370; (518)428-6353 Thank you to Charlie Kilventon for making the beautiful handmade racks to hang our Rosaries on in the classroom. Parent meetings for First Eucharist students and Confirmation Candidates were held on Wednesday, November 15 th. Packets have been mailed out to those parents who were unable to attend or had a representative present. Please contact Mrs. Burns if you have any questions or did not receive your packet. Our next Children's Liturgy of The Word will be held on Sunday, December 10 th, at 9am. We will focus on John the Baptist. Children of all ages are welcome. First Communion students will make their first Confession on Wednesday, December 13 th, at 6pm with Father Peter. This is normal class time. We will be preparing for this in class for the next few weeks. Please consult the packet given out at the Parent meeting for the Form for Confession and Act of Contrition. A child must receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation before making First Communion. Please contact Mrs. Burns if you have a scheduling conflict for this day. Thank you for your assistance in preparing your child to receive this Sacrament. Youth Ministry (grades 6-10) will be meeting on Saturday, December 16 th, at 1pm in the Parish Center to answer letters to Santa written by the students in Cohoes elementary school. Please see Mrs. Burns for sign up information. We will be packing food at the Regional Food Bank on Sunday, December 17 th, from 1pm to 4pm. Please see Mrs. Burns no later than December 13 th for sign up information. Our birthday party for baby Jesus will be on Wednesday, December 20 th, at 6pm in the Church Hall. More information on this party will be announced next week. This is regular class time. Youth Ministry will continue to visit the United Church of Cohoes kitchen to serve the hot meal on the third Saturday of each month from 3pm to 5:45pm. Please see Mrs. Burns for sign up information.
