The Feast of the Discovery of the True Cross 2. The Dedication of the Church of the Holy Sepulcher 3. The Recovery of the True Cross after its captivity by the Persians This year we will receive our altar painting of Risen Christ With Cross emphasizing that Christ s journey did not end crucified on the cross but continued on to glory. We hope that this image of Christ conquering death inspires and consoles all those who pray at Holy Cross Church. May Christ our loving Savior bless us all through the power of his cross and resurrection. Holy Cross Ministry Sign Up Weekend! Men s Group Join us on Thursday, September 20th Kingdom of Happiness: Living the Beatitudes in Everyday Life Session II: Those Who Mourn Suffering is inevitable. Yet we can take hope in Christ s promise that those who mourn will be comforted. Mourning has several different forms, most prominently the loss of a loved one. While this is a common aspect of mourning, the Lord also wills us to mourn our sins and the fallenness of the world. So many of us chase a life of constant pleasure and seek to avoid suffering or guilt at all costs, yet ironically this leads to a life of restlessness, while those who accept grief and display honest remorse find peace. Charismatic Healing Mass The Healing Shepherd Prayer Group invites all to a Charismatic Healing Mass on Monday, September 24, at 8:00 PM in the Church.
