Christmas Highlights 2018 St. Paul Catholic Church

For today in the city of David a savior has been born for you who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find an infant wrapped in swaddling clothes My Dear Friends, and lying in a manger. (Lk 2:11-12) Merry Christmas! During this Holy Season, I give thanks to you for the many ways that you reflect the love of the Christmas Child with others through your prayers, kind words, selfless deeds, and care for those most in need. Thank you! I pray that you and your loved ones will be filled with the peace and joy only He can give! The holiday season can also be difficult for those who have suffered loss or are struggling with life s challenges. Know you are also in my prayers! As Catholics, Christmas is more than a day. It expands to an octave of days, and indeed for an entire season! While the Feast of Santo Niño or the Holy Child on January 20, 2019, may mark the close of the season for us at St. Paul, it is my hope that we may all live the mystery of Christmas throughout the coming new year! As we celebrate the miracle of Christmas, know that you are in the thoughts and prayers of the priests, deacons, religious, staff, and faithful volunteers of St. Paul Catholic Church and Preschool, especially during the celebration of the Most Holy Eucharist. May God bless you as we continue to courageously grow together in Christ! Merry Christmas and have a blessed New Year!

Christmas Mass Schedule Christmas Eve Monday, December 24 Come join the shepherds and adore the newborn King! There is plenty of room in the "inn", so please be sure to invite your friends and neighbors to join you! Be sure to come early! Parking attendants will be on hand. Additional parking is available in the Medical Center across Stall Road. The Mass times are: 4:00 pm. Family Masses will be offered in both our Church and Family Center. Our children will present Christmas pageants at both Masses and our Children's Choir is singing in the Church. Do you know of any children who don't know the true meaning of Christmas? Bring them with you! 6:00 pm. Mass will be in English in the Church and Portuguese in the Family Center. There will be children's Christmas pageants at both Masses. Come, let us adore Him! 8:00 pm. This Christmas Eve Mass will be led by our LifeTeen music ministry. Come join us for a contemporary Spirit-led celebration! Midnight. The Midnight Mass will begin... at midnight! Our wonderful choir, Bell Choir, and Brass Ensemble will offer a music prelude beginning at 11:15 pm. If you've never attended a Midnight Mass, please come and be sure to arrive early! You and your family will be truly blessed! Christmas Day Tuesday, December 25 Join us as we celebrate the birth of Christ during the Holy Eucharist at: 7:30 am, 9:00 am, 10:45 am, 12:30 pm, and 2:00 pm in Spanish (Note: There will NOT be a 5:30 pm Mass on Christmas Day.) There will be children's pageants at both the 9:00 am English and 2:00 pm Spanish language Masses and the Adult Choir will join us at 10:45 am for a traditional High Mass. No one should celebrate Christmas alone. Be sure to invite your family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers to join you for the Holy Mass!

Christmas Season Schedule O come let us adore Him! Eucharistic Adoration takes place every weekday from 8:00 am through 8:30 pm and Friday from 8:00 am through Saturday 8:00 am! What a wonderful way to share in the miracle of that First Christmas! Also, remember that the Sacrament of Reconciliation is now offered every weekday from 11:30 am to noon and Saturdays at 10:00 am and 4:00 pm. Feast of the Holy Innocents Friday, December 28 Fr. Bill, our Respect Life Ministry, and our Hispanic Community will offer a special Mass for all those who have lost a child before or after birth. The evening will begin with the Rosary at 7:00 pm, Mass at 7:30 pm, and dinner reception hosted by the Hispanic Liturgical Ministries to follow. Let us pray for all those who mourn the death of a child. All are welcome. Feast of the Holy Family Sunday, December 30 Today we give thanks to God for the gift of our families. We will offer a special blessing upon our families at every Mass. Please be sure to invite your family and friends to join you! New Year s Eve Monday, December 31 January 1 is the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God, as well as New Year s Day and World Day of Prayer for Peace. This IS a Holy Day of Obligation. Vigil Masses will be at 5:30 pm in English and 7:30 pm in Portuguese. At 10:30 pm on Monday evening, we will observe a holy hour of Eucharistic Adoration before the Vigil Mass begins at 11:30 pm. We will then consecrate the world at midnight to the Prince of Peace! A small reception will follow. Come and keep the Feast! Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God Tuesday, January 1 Today, let us honor our Blessed Mother Mary! (It IS a Holy Day of Obligation.) Our Mass schedule for today is 9:00 am, 12:30 pm, 2:00 pm in Spanish, and 5:30 pm in English. Please bring friends and family to join you as we honor Our Blessed Mother and pray that the Prince of Peace may bless all the world with peace throughout this new year of grace!

First Friday Friday, January 4 On First Fridays, our parish has long had the tradition of adoring the Eucharistic Lord throughout the day and night. In addition, at 7:00 pm we will offer a novena in honor of the Holy Child, Santo Niño and 7:30 pm Mass. Afterwards, there is a reception featuring delicious Filipino cuisine. All are most welcome! Epiphany of the Lord Sunday, January 6 Today we join our Magi from the East as we worship the newborn King, our beloved Santo Niño! Traditionally, homes are blessed today. You are welcome to bring an empty bottle to Church so that you can fill it with Holy Water to bless your home or if you would like a priest or deacon to bless your home, please call the parish office. We would be honored to ask the Lord s blessings upon your home! Novena to Santo Niño Friday, January 11 through Saturday 19 Each evening we will celebrate the novena beginning at 7:00 pm. The Holy Mass will begin at 7:30 pm in honor of the Holy Child followed by a reception featuring delicious Filipino food. We will be led by priests from throughout our diocese. All are welcome! Baptism of the Lord Sunday, January 13 Today we celebrate the Lord s baptism in the River Jordan as well as our baptism... when we were born again through the waters of rebirth! Please come and bring a friend to celebrate the gift of new life in Jesus! Our Lady of Good Health Friday, January 18 Every third Friday, our parish gathers to honor our Blessed Mother, Our Lady of Good Health. The novena begins at 7:00 pm and continues with Mass at 7:30 pm. Because tonight s celebration coincides with our Santo Niño Novena, it will be followed by a reception featuring Filipino cuisine.

World Youth Day Blessing and Vigil of Santo Niño Saturday, January 19 At 10:00 am, our Shepherd, Bishop Parkes will be here to celebrate Mass and bless our young adults as they leave for World Youth Day in Panama. Please come and support our young people! This is also the last day of preparation for the Feast of Santo Niño.
