They remembered they saw tongues of fire and that they felt a strong driving wind. They remembered they spoke in tongues and that there were a lot of people there. Their memory of Pentecost was vivid and they held onto every detail. Imagine how many times they told the story! Every detail was handed down through oral tradition for decades until Luke finally wrote it down. Each time the apostles told the story, they would have been reliving the experience. Each time the apostles told the story they would have been inviting others into it. Take time this week to share your personal testimony and experience with the Holy Spirit. Take time this week to listen to the stories of others. Imagine Peter sitting around the fire telling the story. Pentecost was the night that changed my life. I knew Jesus, yet I denied Him. He rose and He forgave me of all my sins. Still, I was trapped in that upper room, afraid. Then, our mission began. We were on fire with the Holy Spirit, sent out. By the end of the day, three thousand people were baptized. That was the night that changed my life forever. I was not afraid anymore. It is a temptation to forget the big moments we have with Jesus. It is a temptation to not share our stories. Every time you share your story, you invite others into your experience of the Holy Spirit and the grace of that encounter deepens within you. Recall your story and share your story today.

Masters Jesus is the way, the truth and the life... The Holy Spirit of God is the Comforter. Pentecost Monday: June 5 The Spirit keeps moving on Monday. It s a Simple Holyday. The liturgy will start at 7:00. This will be the first of the summer Holyday evening liturgies to be celebrated at the St. John Paul II Chapel. At the close of the service there will be a procession. It will stop at the four corners of the courtyard where a Gospel from each of the four Evangelists will be chanted. This is symbolic of the zeal possessed by the apostles, once filled with the Holy Spirit, to go forth the preach the Good News of Jesus Christ to all nations! Following the liturgy light refreshments will be provided by the Ladies Auxiliary. Keep in mind that parking is allowed down below as long as it isn t muddy. There are benches for seating but you are welcome to bring your own lawn chair (you can also pick up a chair in the pavilion storage room as you arrive). This year s parish picnic is July 16. Each household is asked to buy/ sell three books of raffle tickets to help defray the cost. If you didn t pick yours up today, you can find them, along with a picnic schedule in your mail slot. Ordination Events Deacon Cyril Pinchak will be ordained to the priesthood for the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) on June 24, 10:00 a.m., at the Cathedral in Parma. (If you plan on staying for the reception afterwards, please call Mary Pinchak at 216-371-3766 to help in the planning for food and refreshments.) The following Sunday (July 2) he will celebrate his first Byzantine Divine Liturgy at our regularly scheduled 10:00 time slot. (More info to come next week on that celebration.)
