Dear Parishioners, I forgot to formally congratulate Scott Radermacher and Danielle Quaday, who were married two weeks ago Congratulations, Scott and Danielle! Congratulations, too, to Erin McCabe and Nick Strand who are married this weekend. May the Lord bless all our newly married couples! Our sympathy to the families of Margaret Michael of St. Peter and Lucy Kozitza of Nicollet. May their souls, and the souls of all the faithful departed, rest in peace. I hope many will come and enjoy the dinner and raffle at the Church of St. Paul this Sunday. Such dinners are great ways to meet people and have fun. Another upcoming opportunity is the Area Faith Community Patronal Feast Day potluck following the 10 am Mass on June 29 th (just 2 weeks away!). We are in need of a few helpers yet! Bring either a dessert or a salad to share; everything else provided (we will take a free-will offering to offset the cost of the pork, buns, and chips). Come and enjoy! This weekend we celebrate Father s Day. How important fathers are! Social science has demonstrated time and again that fathers have a profound influence on their families and society as a whole. Faithful fathers influence the faith of their children. Children who have little or no fatherly influence are more prone to be either victims or perpetrators of criminal activity. So, fathers, thank you, and may your fatherhood be modeled after God the Father who loved His Son. As we celebrate Trinity Sunday, we remember the internal relationship of the Holy Trinity, that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are three persons eternally united in the one substance of God. We have both come to love and respect the families and friends we were privileged to pray and work with. Sister Vincent Marie continues her love of teaching as she teaches children and adults in our Learning Center at Good Counsel. I will be driving our sisters to many, many appointments, leading prayer in our healthcare, facilitating two scripture prayer times with our sisters, and helping in our Good Counsel Motherhouse in Mankato. The time has come for both of us to live with, and serve, our sisters in community. But, we will certainly miss our community family here in St. Peter. Hopefully, we will be able to see many of you, and thank you personally, when we come for the Mass and Picnic on Sunday, June 29.
