First Sunday of Advent Faith Formation for Families, Youth, Children & Adults Children s Liturgy of the Word Parents are invited to encourage their young children to join the catechist when Father invites little ones to come up to the sanctuary. You will process out of Mass to listen to more simple versions of the Sunday readings in the chapel. It is perfectly fine for parents to walk up with their younger child and accompany their child for the readings. Children s Liturgy of the Word introduces the parts of the Mass in a natural, child friendly setting. The Gospel of Luke Bible Study The Bible is the Spirit-inspired Word of God for us. It reveals to us the God who created, redeemed, and guides us still. It speaks to us personally and as a Church. Studying and praying with God s Word deepens our relationship with Christ. Beginning in Advent (the start of the Church year), the Sunday Gospel readings will essentially be from the Gospel according to St. Luke. The Gospel of Luke gives us the story of Christ s life from His birth through His public ministry, passion, death, resurrection and ascension into heaven, and demonstrates the universal nature of Jesus' mission and the compassion of God. Whether you have never attended a Bible study, or are a regular Bible study goer, this Bible study will be sure to deepen your understanding of the life of Christ and deepen your relationship with Him. This 13-week study is offered at two different times. It begins Wednesday, January 2 at 9:30 am or Thursday, January 3 at 7 pm with an introduction to the Bible and distribution of the workbook. For those who can t make this class, the books will be available at the parish office. A fee of $20 will cover the cost of the book and materials. If the fee is a financial hardship, scholarships are available. Please contact the parish office for more information and to register or Anne Marie at annemarie@stpetersrichfield.org.
