USCCB Novena for the Legal Protection of Human Life 8/3-9/28 The USCCB Committee on Pro-Life Activities is initiating a Novena for the Legal Protection of Human Life. This nine-week effort will include prayer and fasting for the intention that the change in the membership of the Supreme Court will move our nation closer to the day when every human being is protected in law and welcomed in life. The Novena takes place from Friday, August 3, to Friday, September 28. Individuals are urged to sign up for the Novena as part of the USCCB Call to Prayer at usccb.org/pray. Those who sign up will receive weekly email or text message reminders to pray. Cardinal Dolan, chairman of the USCCB Committee on Pro-Life Activities issued a statement urging "all people of good will" to participate in this prayer. PRAYER LIST If you would like any names to be included on our prayer list you may call the Parish Office or email parish@stpatricksmarin.org. Please indicate whether it is a prayer for healing, employment, discernment, or any other needs. The prayer list is updated weekly. Please remember in your prayers, five of our St. Patrick s longtime parishioners who have recently died. Monika McGuin Bonnie Hershfeld Maureen Seyler Dorothy Dixon Richard Kamieniecki Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen

Dear St. Patrick s Parishioners, Thank you very much for the very generous outpouring of help in the July St. Vincent de Paul collection. Each of you is walking with our conference volunteers as we visit people in their hospital rooms, in houseboats, in trailers, in apartments, and in houses. Each dollar helps our neighbors cope with and survive crises of health, of lost jobs, of simple bad luck. Those dollars provide food, medicine, PG&E payments, car repairs, emergency dental surgery and much more. If that help were not readily available, our clients would have to draw on their rent money, and many would then lose their housing. Your contributions are keeping many people in our parish boundaries housed. That assurance of being housed is our number one goal on the parish conference level. And you are making that possible. Thank you very much. Sincerely, Cathy Plocki SVDP St. Patrick s Conference President P.S. We would love you to join us in this wonderfully satisfying work. Just contact the parish office. Together in Holiness Marriage Enrichment Conference, September 29, 2018 9:00AM to 3:30PM Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Belmont Speakers: Dr. John & Mrs. Claire Grabowski; Rev. Together in Holiness is an initiative of the St. John Paul II Foundation and presented in collaboration with the Archdiocese of San Francisco Office of Marriage & Family Life Novena for our Nation, a 54-Day Rosary Novena For the third year in a row, the Novena for Our Nation will run from August 15 (the Feast of the Assumption of Mary) to October 7 (the Feast of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary) and will end with a National Rosary Rally in Washington DC. Endorsed by Cardinal Raymond Burke and other eminent Catholics, the project invites participants to pray the Rosary for 54 consecutive days, in a particular order and for particular intentions. Complete information is on the website, novenaforournation.com. Whoever desires to obtain favors from Me should make three novenas of the prayers of the Rosary, and three novenas in thanksgiving. Promise of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Would You Like an Extra $1,000.00? During the last two weekends in August, after all the Masses, St. Vincent de Paul volunteers will be selling tickets for the Pennies from Heaven drawing. While these tickets will be part of the annual county wide SVDP fundraiser on September 8, the proceeds of all tickets sold at St. Patrick s and turned in to St. Patrick s will be given to our conference. (If the money is sent to San Rafael, we do not receive credit.) The suggested donation for the tickets is $20.00 or 10 for $100.00. Consider taking a book of tickets to sell to your friends; it s a very worthy cause. (Raffle tickets are not tax deductible. If you wish to forego the tickets, you are very welcome to make a donation and will be given a receipt.) St. Patrick s Thrift Shop needs a few more volunteers! The shop is open for business Tuesday through and volunteers work 2, 3, or 4-hour shifts depending on the day. Volunteers also work on Monday, Wednesday, and to sort, price, and display donated items. Scheduling is flexible... some volunteers work once a week, some once a month, and some on call. If you d like to volunteer, or need more information, please contact Barbara Santana Cronin at 415-924-5393. Thank you!
