AMC Book Group AMC Book Group will start Wednesday, September 19 (not the 12th as previously listed) at 6 p.m. in St. Matthew's Parlor. This first book of the year will be Revelations: Visions, Prophecy & Politics in the Book of Revelations by Elaine Pagels. Please obtain your own copy of the book and read Chapter One for our first meeting. We are looking forward to seeing anyone interesting in discussing this most unusual book of the Bible.
Calling all Duffers! WHAT: The Second Annual AMC Duffer Cup Classic Golf Tournament WHEN: Sunday, October 14th, 2018, 1 to 4PM WHERE: Cape Ann Golf Course, Essex, MA The weather gods and the golfing gods were in agreement last October for proceeding with the first ever AMC Open Golf Tournament. Over 20 AMC golfers and friends competed for The Duffer Cup on a beautiful autumn day at The Candlewood Golf Course. Plenty of laughs, shanks, slices, hooks and yips were shared among our coed teams of golfers from all ages and abilities. Prizes for longest drive and closest to the pin will be awarded again this year and the winning team will have their names etched in perpetuity upon The Duffer Cup itself. That dubious distinction went to Jim Field, Dan Alexson and Bob Froeber last year. ASCENSION MEMORIAL CHURCH OUR BEACH NEEDS YOU! Come join us on an adventure in spiritual exploration and Faith can be Fun leadership. The Our Beach Sunday school programme is recruiting daring souls to help teach. Have no experience? Of course you do! You have the experiences of your own faith, and we ll help you learn how to share them with the younger members of our community. Don t know the stories well? We ll go over them together before we teach, and find out what they mean for us. Help plant the seeds of ancient and new spiritual journeys, help kids learn to turn faith into actions, make some art and other cool stuff, have some quiet time, sing and learn about music. We re all on a quest at AMC: to explore and deepen our faith, to help build our community, to pray together, to help heal our world. It starts with the youngest of us and continues through the oldest of us. And sometimes we find God more clearly when we listen to the youngest voices in our midst. Anyone even vaguely interested in joining the teaching team, join us for lunch today (Sunday Sept ember 9 th ), at noon in the gathering area outside the classrooms.
