NH State Council - State Warden s Report Grand Knights and Brothers All, NH State Council 53rd Annual State Ball Sometimes it is hard to see what s coming down the tracks. However, it is never too early to get excited about your NH State Council s 53rd Annual State Ball to be held at the Pheasant Ridge Country Club in Gilford NH on October 11, 2014!!! Yes, as times change so must we. See the flyer below for time, date, location, and stand by for more exciting news as we approach October 11th!!! The flyer is the first of the reminders leading up to this prestigious event. So keep an ear to the rail to hear what s coming down the track next. The State Ball is a time we can stop life s train for a minute to reacquaint with old friends and get to know new ones and distribute our annual State Scholarships. It is where we honor the achievements of young men and women boarding a new adventure as they held off to colleges of their choice. For now let s not lose track of another benefit going on, Your State Charity Raffle Tickets Sales. State Council Director Ray Lemay is in charge of this locomotive and he is available to answer your questions at (603) 674-0033. If you are a new Grand Knight this fraternal year check with the PGK to see how your raffle ticket sales are going. Has your council train left the station? If not get on board! So I look forward to seeing all of you in Gilford NH this October. Start planning now to make this a Council Event by soliciting members to fill a table (10). Also, we are asking Council s and/or interested individuals to provide an item for a Silent Auction. The proceeds of the auction will be donated to the Christopher Fund. This fund is an investment vehicle at Supreme that provides an annual distribution back to the State Council. This year, the State Council has allocated this distribution to the NH Catholic Charities and to the Diocesan Youth Ministries. Please contact State Ball Promotions Chairman Joseph Kowalik by October 1 st with the details of the article(s) you will be donating. Suggestions are gift baskets, show or sports tickets, gift cards, or any interesting items you would like to win yourself!!! Who knows? You may leave that evening with something special from the State Ball!!! Fraternally, Joseph J Kowalik III State Warden State Ball Promotions Chairman 603 485-2082 Page 6 of 16

The Pray For Life Center Manchester NH Website: www.prayforlifecenter.org <-- lots of photos Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/prayforlifecenter The Pray for Life Center, located at 27 Pennacook Street, #1, Manchester, across from Planned Parenthood, is an IRS approved non-profit 501(c)(3) organization formed in direct response to the witnessing of lost innocent human life by abortion in Manchester. It is organized and operated to promote the sanctity of human life in the public square through prayer, education, and Christian charity to all, in the hope that through God s endless mercy, hearts will turn toward life and the lives of the unborn will be spared. Donations can be sent to: Pray For Life Center, 12 Royal Range Road, Sandown, New Hampshire 03873. Contact Cathy Kelley at 483-5177 or send an email to prayforlifecenter@gmail.com for more information. Pray For Life Center is open all day on Thursdays (the day in which 20-30 lives are lost by surgical abortion at Planned Parenthood). For those who cannot walk in vigil outside Planned Parenthood, you are welcome to pray for the unborn, their parents, and the Planned Parenthood staff in our prayer room chapel. Update on Pennacook St Thursday, July 17, 2014 Thursday's abortion business on Pennacook Street has decreased by double digits. A woman who had her abortion appointment several weeks ago went into Planned Parenthood today while her friend walked over to speak with us. She told us, her friend had been back to PP "six times" since having the abortion on June 26. One visit she was told she had PID (pelvic inflammatory disease); on another visit she was told she had a bacterial infection. She went to a local ER where she had an ultrasound and an exam. She was told there was "tissue" that should have been removed during the abortion. She came back today because they (Planned Parenthood) had to "redo the procedure." Two abortion "procedures" within three weeks. A man and woman walked by us and refused offers of help. When the man came out for a smoke he decided to speak to us. He told us the woman he came with was just a friend and it was not his baby. He said she is a drug addict and lost custody of her two daughters. When she was leaving she told us she was an addict. She said she had two daughters and had been "fixed". She was Christian, pro-life and was there for a drug test. She walked away, but was back in a few minutes. She said I forgot my "pill." The truth came out. It was an RU486 chemical abortion. As always, everyone is welcome to go inside the PFLC to pray on Thursday, to visit and to catch up with what is going on with friends and families To all, you do make a difference. God knows you are there to honor Him and His creations. Cathy Leaven For The Loaf - Ellen Kolb From "And Then There Were None" - Abby Johnson s project for former abortion facility workers, comes this damning video about Planned Parenthood s abortion business. That s where the money is, apparently. I join Abby in urging you to share this far and wide. Click here to see video Page 12 of 16

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ A RESPECT LIFE ROAD MAP FOR GRAND KNIGHTS As leaders in the Catholic community, you must demonstrate you are committed to building a culture of life. You and your officers must have a plan for pro-life activities this fraternal year: what to initiate and how to carry them out. Grand Knights- you must appoint a pro-life chairman. This brother needs to be organized and willing to educate himself and others about relevant issues which affect the unborn, the elderly, women in crisis, the sick and dying, and basic religious freedoms. This is an ongoing process of faith, renewal, and evangelization. A pro-life chair must be equipped to answer the difficult questions from the laity. And the member does not have to be a 3 rd degree Knight. Plan on involving your council in 4 major functions: The Fall and Lenten 40 Days for Life. This project involves giving witness to the culture of life in near abortion clinics- be it in Concord, Manchester, Greenland or Claremont. The power of prayer and fasting is used to change hearts! The next 40 Days for Life is from 09/24-11/02. The Annual Marches for Life- either in Concord (most likely Saturday 01/17/15) or in Washington on 01/22/15. The Annual Birthright Dinner in Suncook on 02/07/15. Support of our pregnancy care centers is paramount in our efforts. The Annual Pro-life Seminar on 03/22 at St. Joseph s Cathedral in Manchester Ascertain from your pastor what pro-life issues could be presented to the parish and set up a schedule of talks/discussion groups. Contact your nearest Pregnancy Care Center to see how your council can assist them. We have 16 of these centers throughout New Hampshire. Sponsor a Rosary or a Mass during October, Respect Life Month. Keep current on significant legislation and court decisions. And most importantly- PRAY! Ron Di Stasio State Pro-Life Director Page 13 of 16

Sidewalk Counseling & Witness Seminar for Pro-Lifers at Wadleigh Law, Manchester Aug 4th 12:30 pm! Dear Pro-Life Brother Knights & Friends, The pro-life Wadleigh, Starr & Peters Law Firm that coordinated and won the injunction stay against the New Hampshire SB-319 (RSA 132:37~39) 25' Buffer Zone Law (to the Concord Federal District Court) and who partnered with Alliance Defending Freedom in that initiative, is sponsoring a seminar for pro-life sidewalk counseling/prayer witnessing at abortion facilities, at their Manchester NH office, Monday August 4th, 95 Market Street, starting at 12:30 PM, featuring ADF Attorney Matt Bowman from Washington DC! All are invited, but please let Attorney Michael Tierney know if you will attend (mtierney@wadleighlaw.com). This is a great opportunity to become familiar with the right ways to sidewalk witness in good behavior with effective protocols, without violating the law -- a "rules of engagement" work shop, if you will! Questions: Please contact Michael Tierney at 603-206-7239. Walter A. Stapleton Deputy GK & Pro-Life Director Brother Knights in Christ, Pray for Life Claremont NH Iraq & Syria: Also, please remember in your prayers and charity our persecuted Christian brothers and sisters in Syria and Iraq who are being brutalized and driven out by the barbaric Islamic ISIS/ISIL. The Church of St. Mary's in Mosul Iraq has been closed, the cross removed and the interior desecrated, while the parishioners have been given the age old Islamic proscription: "Leave, convert to Islam, pay the Jihad infidel tax, or face death!" The foremost Catholic Charity that is helping persecuted, displaced and refugee Christians in these countries is the ICMC - the International Catholic Migration Commission, which was formed in 1951 by Catholic clergy from several countries and commissioned by Pope Pius XII to help homeless and displaced refugees following World War-II. Link: http://www.icmc.net (In 2012 ICMC expended $24 million for help and aid projects with 87% of funds allocated to charitable work.) News on SB-319 Buffer Zone from Cornerstone Action: "Please keep the lawyers from the Alliance Defending Freedom in your prayers. They will be contesting the New Hampshire buffer zone this Friday, July 25th. Governor Hassan signed the buffer zone into law June 6th, 2014 in spite of a pending United States Supreme Court decision on the constitutionality of a similar bill passed in Massachusetts. It was irresponsible to have passed Senate bill 319 in light of the ruling that set precedent for buffer zones nationwide. We must keep our leaders accountable. Unsound lawmaking at the taxpayer s expense, whether it be freedom or dollars, is inexcusable. The following links lead to a list of all the legislators who voted to infringe on the first amendment rights of those who stand in front of abortion facilities in peaceful protest." US Senate bill S-2578 (which sought to overturn the Supreme Court Hobby Lobby decision) has been shut down in cloture votes. But the massive pro-abortion bill S-1696, that would overturn every pro-life law in the last 40 years and mandate Federal protection for every abortion clinic in the US, is now in the US Senate Judiciary Committee. Contact your Senators and tell them to vote against this evil legislation! "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing" - Statesman Edmund Burke Page 14 of 16
