Dear Parishioners, Alleluia! I am SO grateful to God and 7 of our parishioners (Patsy Quinn, Francis Kramer, Rita Fahey, Steve Lemmer, Doris Mielke, Jean Schmitz and Lori Kasel) who have/are attended (ing) the Catechetical Institute (CI). They have invested a HUGE amount of time and energy and they and our parishes have/are reaping the fruit of their investment as they have fallen more in love with God and their Catholic Faith. Might God be calling you to make the huge investment in the CI? Each parish pays for 50% of the tuition for their parishioners. The next few weeks we will read testimonies from our CI parishioners. Here are some details of the CI: Come discover the plan that will transform your work, your marriage, your family, your community... your life! This fall, the Archbishop Harry J. Flynn Catechetical Institute will offer the two-year course in two different locations. Classes will be held at Mary, Mother of the Church in Burnsville on Monday evenings and at the Church of St. Andrew in Elk River on Tuesday evenings. Taught by some of the best instructors in the Twin Cities, such as Bishop Andrew Cozzens, Jeff Cavins, Deacon Joe Michalak, Fr. John Klockeman, Dr. Bill Stevenson, Fr. Peter Williams, Christina Smith, Alyssa Bormes, and more, the program follows the four pillars of the Catechism of the Catholic Church and will make sense of all things Catholic, deepen your faith, and lay out the roadmap to heaven. The classes are divided into four eleven-week modules with two Saturday morning formative sessions per module. Church of the Ascension Norwood Young America, MN Graduating High School Seniors Graduating High School Seniors are invited to a special Mass on June 4 th in their honor. This will be at the 8 a.m. Mass at Ascension. There will be treats/reception to follow after Mass. Cemetery Regulations Ascension Cemetery does not permit planting, artificial or potted plants during the grass cutting season except Memorial weekend. Decorations should not be placed before Thursday evening of Memorial Day and must be removed before the next weekend. Do not dig holes. Decorations will be removed and placed at the east end of the cemetery by the large evergreen tree. During the grass cutting season fresh cut flowers (not artificial) are allowed. When wilted they will be removed. Archdiocesan Marriage Day Celebration Archbishop Hebda invites you to celebrate the beautiful mystery of the mutual self-gift between a man and woman in the Sacrament of Matrimony on Saturday, June 3 at the Cathedral of St. Paul, 10 a.m. for Mass, renewal of vows, and a short reception.
