OUR MISSION STATEMENT: Growing In Faith Together (G.I.F.T.) Dear Parishioners, Our sympathy to the family and friends of Marie (nee Daun) Dewald. May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, rest in peace. We welcome all guests this weekend who are attending St. Peter s Harvest Festival. I hope that these days are warm and welcoming, with much cheer and camaraderie for all. These last weeks, I have been studying about leadership and vision/mission crafting. I am understanding how failure to lead can cause last effects. With that in mind, I am asking that our staff, Area Pastoral Council, and Administrative councils to aid me in crafting a new and exciting mission statement - a statement that states who we are, what we are to do, and what guides our decisions. Without it being formal, I am already beginning to see how important this is for my leadership. Please keep us in prayer as we discuss, discern, and declare a clear, exciting mission statement. As much as it hurts me to say, I am going to suggest that we not force a new street sign before the winter. We do not have the money, first of all, but there are a number of other concerns such as lack of ultimate design, time, or updated logos. I suggest that we install a digital sign, but that costs more than we have at this time, and while we might scrap enough to rebuild exactly what we had, we honestly we be better served in saving what we have for something that will serve us better. Also, it occurs to me that we should announce a few things. These first weeks of school, we had major issues with our internet. Between have computers that were constantly trying to update to just relatively low broadband speeds for a school, we are in need of switching how we connect to the internet. We have begun investigating options, and I will be presenting this to the Administrative Council at our next meeting, hopefully, as there will most likely be a hike in costs. But because we live in a more technological era, our staff are working on social media. In Christ, Fr. Todd J. Petersen ============================================================================ WEEKLY SCHEDULE September 25 - October 2, 2016 Sunday, 26 th Ordinary Time September 25th 8 AM Mass, Nicollet 8:30 AM 12:30 PM Fall Festival 10 AM Mass, (+Parish Family), St. Peter 10 AM Sunday School 7 PM Lifeteen Monday 8 AM Mass (+Maurice Brown), Chapel 9 AM Adult Bible Study, Family Room Tuesday 8 AM Mass, (+Dennis Fitzpatrick), Chapel 3 PM JI Choir Rehearsal 6:30 PM St. Peter Administrative Council Wednesday 8 AM Mass, Nicollet 8:15 JIS Prayer Service 6:30 PM Sanctuary Choir Practice 6:30 PM Grade 2-8 Faith Formation Thursday 8:15 AM JIS Mass (+Donald Stark) Church 1-10 PM Eucharistic Adoration, Chapel 3:30 PM Confession, Chapel Friday 8 AM Mass (+Frank & Elsie Smisek), Chapel 11:00 PM Midnight Watch Saturday 2:00 PM Tina Kennedy & Levi White Wedding 5 PM Mass (+Parish Family), St. Peter Sunday, 27 th Ordinary Time October 2 8 AM Mass, Nicollet 10 AM Mass, (+Bob & Gen Boys), St. Peter 10 AM Sunday School 11 AM Marathon 7 PM Lifeteen Prayer Ministry Please Pray for Heather Giefer and Misty Hamar. St. Peter Public Access TV Channel 7 Church of St. Peter Sunday Mass: Mondays 7 pm Tuesday - 9 am RENEWED - #4 Fr. Reed believes that the best remedy for what ails both individual Catholics and the Church as a whole is a lively sense of the riches of tradition embodied in the lives of the saints. In his urgent and passionate call to renewal, Fr. Reed profiles twenty saints (two per episode) who, like Catholics today, lived in times of crisis when the way forward was unclear. He derives ways that viewers can begin to revive their faith and revitalize the Church.
