OUR MISSION STATEMENT: Growing In Faith Together (G.I.F.T.) Dear Parishioners, Happy Feast of Corpus Christi. This feast, begun in the Middle Ages, helps us praise God for the gift of the Eucharist. We recall the great mystery that Jesus Christ would become food and drink for us. In this is mercy - that He would nourish us and seek to remain with us so much that He would bind himself to the human race and the ministry of priests to make Him present. Christ s Presence makes the Father present, because where One person of the Trinity is working, all Three are present. When we receive the Eucharist, we are incorporated into the life of the Trinity, and He finds a place to dwell in us. And that dwelling in Him and He in us incorporates us in His mystical Body, the Church and unites us with each other. If that is true, then the Eucharist binds us in charity and calls us to acts of mercy. I wish all a beautiful Memorial Day. I hope we all can keep the day of remembrance for those who have served in our armed forces and either died in battle or as a direct result of wounds received, or those who returned and have since died. May their service be honored, and may good men and woman respond to the call to protect us still. Unfortunately, this meaning is slowly being eroded. We might be tempted to forget about the deceased veterans, or if we remember, not give them proper honor by simply thinking it is about remembering all the dead. Our deceased military personnel deserve our thanks and honor on this day first and foremost, without failing to remember all the other who have died, as well as enjoying a day of leisure afford us by their sacrifices. As part of this day, (and because our cemeteries are cold and often snow-packed on November 2), we are encouraged to visit the cemetery and to pray there. We have Mass at Calvary, and there will be a little prayer service lead by Deacon Steve in the four cemeteries served by St. Paul s. If those visits do not work, just stop by. You might simply pray: "Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen. In Christ, Fr. Todd J. Petersen ================================================================= WEEKLY SCHEDULE May 29 June 5, 2016 Sunday, Corpus Christi May 29 8 AM Mass, Nicollet 10 AM Mass (+Tim Johnson), St. Peter No Coffee & Donuts Monday 9 AM Memorial Day Mass (+Len Genelin & Barb Kotasek), Cemetery (In church if inclement weather) Offices Closed Tuesday 8 AM Mass (+Kathy Schaus), Chapel Wednesday 8 AM Mass, Nicollet 10:30 AM Mass (+Vince Dumdei), Benedictine Thursday 8 AM Mass (+Germaine Mickey McGuire), Chapel 1-10 PM Eucharistic Adoration, Chapel 3:30 PM Confession Friday 8 AM 1 st Friday Mass (+Jim Seitzer), Chapel 10:00 AM Mass (+Helen Vogt), Prairie Hill Saturday 12-1 AM Midnight Watchmen, Chapel 5 PM Mass (+Parish Family), St. Peter Sunday, 10 th Ordinary Time June 5th 8 AM Mass, Nicollet 10 AM Mass (+Tim Johnson), St. Peter No Coffee & Donuts ---------------------------------------------------- Knights of Columbus will be saying the Rosary before mass on Sunday the 29 th. ------------------------------------------------------------ New Materials We have new booklets and CD s on the kiosk in the Narthex.

PLEASE consider helping with this event and give the church office a call to put your name on the contact list. We will announce a date in the very near future. Thank you! An investment with Eternal rewards This summer we will be sending 5 teens from our parish to attend Franciscan LEAD prior to the Steubenville North Conference. LEAD is a five-day, Christ-centered, sacrament-soaked, prayer-fueled immersion in Catholic teachings on leadership, evangelization, and discipleship. Participants are given practical tools for developing their faith and evangelizing their friends. Many of our teens that have attended this training have come home to be EDGE core members, Eucharistic ministers, daily mass attendees and others have even become full-time missionaries! I am looking for a few generous people, with a heart for our youth, that would be willing to invest in and financially support this wonderful group of teens. Each of these teens will need to raise $350 for the entire week. Please contact me if you are interested in supporting this worthy cause! heather76may@yahoo.com or 507.317.1882. God's Peace, Heather Gilbertson.

Did you know? Every Friday night, Catholic men are meeting for the Midnight Watch to pray for their families. Join us this Friday from midnight to 1 am. (Technically it is Saturday morning.) Questions: Contact Tony Grack, Cody Winnett, or Fr. Todd. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Note: A Change in Acclamation Music at Mass! The liturgical season of Ordinary Time will begin the week-end of June 4/5 and along with this season, the mass acclamations will also change to the Land of Rest mass found on page 100 in the Order of Mass Booklet. The matching hymn boards reflect the order of service with OMB (order of mass booklet) identifying the location of the music. This is the hymn board order: On the first line is the number for the Entrance hymn. On the second line are the numbers for the Ritual Song readings and psalm. On the third line is OMB -100 - for the Land of Rest mass acclamations. On the fourth line is the number for Preparation of the Gifts hymn. On the fifth line are the numbers for the communion hymns. On the sixth line is the number for the closing hymn. Thank you for your continued participation in the sung liturgy at Mass as we embrace this change in the liturgy for this season called ordinary Time. The congregation is the choir!
