3 Dear sisters and brothers in Christ, "That they may all be one." - John 17:21 Summer is just around the corner! Soon, children will be out of school, the days will be getting longer, and life will move at a different pace, including here at RPC. In every Presbyterian church, the session is responsible for setting the dates, times, places, and occasions for worship. Your elders have been in prayer and conversation about our worship life together, and beginning Memorial Day Weekend (May 27), we'll be moving to our summer Sunday schedule. We'll have Christian Education options available at 9 a.m., and one combined worship service at 10 a.m. In May and June, we'll worship in the sanctuary, and in July and August, we'll worship in the chapel, and we'll resume our fall schedule the weekend after Labor Day in September. This is an exciting time to be the church together! We'll be announcing much more about our summer plans in the weeks ahead, so stay tuned! Peace be with you, Ryan * From Invitation to Christ: A Guide to Sacramental Practices, Office of Theology and Worship of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), 2006. 3

Opportunities to be part of a community with the larger church are gifts! RPC was 19 strong at KQ thanks to Debra Lee, Aaron Young, Chris Henderson, and Paige Bacon. Please express your appreciation to these adults. Enjoying time together this group does! A night of bowling and pizza included many giggles. There was also an ESCAPE that happened. Watching the youth work as a team, think outside of the box, and realize they are capable of so much is very powerful! Thank you to adults who provide nourishment through food, through opportunities, and through loving and praying. 7

8 HAPPY TH BIRTHDAY Presbyterian Women May, 2018 With the reunion of the Presbyterian Church in 1988, the United Presbyterian Women (north) and the Women of the Church (south) became one organization. Presbyterian Women (in its current form) was born. You can imagine the many problems and compromises that had to be worked out. Not the least was which of the beloved special offerings of each group would be carried over to the new one. From the northern branch came the Thank Offering collected in November; from the south, the Birthday Offering collected in April or May. This year s mission projects chosen to receive funding are: 1. The Cottage Village in Cotton Grove, Oregon It will provide affordable housing for low income families. 2. Village of Grace A center for physical and spiritual health. It will be managed by PW in Honduras. 3. The Dwelling Place in the Twin Cities of Minnesota Providing for needs of women and their children following their escape from a violent partner.
