2 Nativity Catholic Church Affirming God s Love In Each Other Blessings To All! After several months of planning and preparation, our 13 th annual parish festival, Augustravaganza, is next weekend! We are very grateful for the efforts of our Festival Steering Committee for leading us to this much anticipated parish event The proceeds from this year s raffle will support our Church Renovation Project As we move into our final week of preparation, there are four things that all of us can and need to do: 1 PRAY for good weather! 2 PURCHASE raffle tickets! 3 INVITE family and friends to the festival! 4 VOLUNTEER! MEIJER SIMPLY GIVE CAMPAIGN which benefits God's Bounty Food Pantry at the Southport Meijer store will start on Sunday August 19 and run through Saturday September 15 Every $10 donation will be matched by Meijer These funds are distributed to the pantry in the form of food gift cards These food gift cards have been the major source of purchasing food for the food pantry in the past Starting in the fall of this year God's Bounty clients have the opportunity to receive food twice a month instead of once a month Your help with this donation helps the pantry keep our doors open to feed the hungry families in Franklin Township and a few surrounding areas DONATE A BIKE Have an old bike sitting in your garage that you never ride anymore? Started in 2011, our Bicycles for the Homeless Ministry has given out over 1,700 bicycles Our homeless neighbors need transportation to get to jobs, medical appointments, social service agencies, etc We can accept just about any used bicycle as long as it is in ride-able condition - we have volunteers that can make minor repairs Along with the bikes, we give accessories if they are available through donations: a backpack, helmet and lock, and all bikes are equipped with lights and reflectors We observe the recipient riding the bike to ensure ability to safely ride it You can drop off at the SVdP Distribution Center, 1201 E Maryland Street Should you have five or more bikes to donate, call Jeff Blackwell, 317-924-5769 ext 320 to make arrangements for a pick up during the week EVANGELIZATION CORNER Evangelization points to our only source of salvation
