3 A Letter from the Editor. Dear Tri-angle Readers, You will have regularly seen my little advert for the role of Editor for the Tri-angle. Unfortunately, I have yet to receive ANY enquiries for the position so I have decided to take this opportunity to try & explain what is involved in the hope that someone out there might like to give it a try. I use the Microsoft Publisher software which is on most computers as part of the Office Program. Our previous editor used her own publishing program & when I took on the role again I had to very quickly learn how to use Publisher, something I was unfamiliar with. Now I am not a computer novice but neither am I an expert. What I am trying to say is that it isn t as hard as you may think & if you are really interested I will be willing to help you get started. You will have a copy of the previous month s magazine to which you just add or delete items as necessary. As the adverts come to the Tri-angle they are checked & passed onto the Editor detailing how it is to be presented until you get the hang of it. Generally, most adverts & items for inclusion will come electronically (which is preferred as it saves so much time) but some may come handwritten or by phone & will need presenting manually. Usually, I put the adverts in as they arrive so that there are only a few left around the 15th - deadline day, therefore saving time in getting it sent to the printer. You will of course need to be on the internet. Anyway, I still hope there is someone out there who would like a little challenge & a chance to contribute towards this essential Community magazine. I would also like to mention & pay tribute to our fantastic magazine delivery volunteers. At our recent AGM we were delighted to hear that we have 12 volunteers who regularly deliver in and around Waddingham and 5 volunteers who regularly deliver in and around Bishop Norton & Atterby. However, we only seem to have 1, yes ONE volunteer who delivers to the 105 homes in Snitterby. Therefore, I would really like to ask for more people to volunteer to help with the Snitterby deliveries. Even if you can only deliver to your street, that would be such a great help. If you are interested in helping your Community Magazine in anyway, in any of the villages, please contact me via or phone (details on opposite page). Thankyou. Ros Townsend Editor & Advertising Editor 3
