Last but not the least to all Delegates, Special visitors, and Friends who have shown their solidarity with us by being part of this glorious Assembly. To all I say May the Almighty God be with you. OVERVIEW OF ACTIVITIES IN THE DISTRICT: Brethrens, It s a rare opportunity in life for us to attend and witness the Assembly. This shows that God has been faithful in protecting and guiding us in our daily dealings. I know all of us in the past year have passed through thick and thin in our daily living, but our God

has been there for us. Surely GREAT IS THY FAITHFULLNESS. And in view of this, we cannot take this opportunity given to us for granted. Friends, I m standing here today with happiness and joy in my heart; to see the transformation and a new spirit of prayer and devotion in most Leaders and members of our district. Every morning I do receive messages from Reverends, Pastors, and Members in our district assuring me their daily prayer for me as I also daily pray for their success in their Christian Journey. Friends be assured of transforming power of prayer and know that God is able. The important thing we must bear in mind is that without us being the people of prayer things in our district cannot be the way they are today. I thank you all Faithful Leaders and members who have been spending more time in praying for our District needs. Friends what we need to remember is that our enemy Satan and his army, does not cease to wage war against us. But the beauty of it all is that; the ear of our Heavenly Father is attentive to our cries and His Hand is not too short to rescue us. Brethrens before I take you through the events that took place in our district in the past year under review. Let me thank Rev. Mtambo and his team for organizing an historical and successful Zambia Pastors and Leaders Conference (PALCON) that took place in Lusaka west, at Chamba valley. From 1 st August to 5 th We thank the Lord that the time spent together as Leaders was worthy spending. God bless you, Rev. Mtambo and your Team. Brethrens as I said earlier, our Faithful God helped us to accomplish some of the visions that we casted. I thank the entire Reverends, Pastors, District auxiliary leaders; Zone Leaders, and all members who were involved for spearheading these programs to be a success. The following are the activities and events that took place and successfully accomplished: In December, 2015,Rev. Tommy and family assumed the responsibility of shepherding Chililabombwe church of the Nazarene. And in June 2016 Chililabombwe Congregation organized an installation service and our FSC and Mama, were in attendance including Mama Musongwa. The occasion was colorful and we celebrated in Christian songs and danced in the Zambian way. May God bless you Rev. as you serve the Chilillabombwe Congregation. On 25 th. December Makeni Kalulu Church of the Nazarene was organized as full organized church, under the able Leadership of Rev. Bernard Musongwa. The occasion was well timely as we were celebrating the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ that was the time we were also celebrating the birth of a new church in our district. Since its inception as an organized church Makeni church has became a force to be reckon with in all area of church growth. We recognize and thank the

leadership of our veteran Leader Rev. Bernard Musongwa and his wife Mama Catharine Musongwa. Nakatindi church of the Nazarene was dedicated on Sunday 3rd. January More than 97 members were in attendance to grace the occasion. The mood was more jovial when the all Congregation was asked to match around the church building while singing celebration songs. We praise God for the leadership ability of Rev. Frank Chilambwe and Mama Chilambwe. We lost a strong Chairlady member of Lubengele church of the Nazarene, Mrs Masango. 0n 12 th. January And she was put to rest on 15 th. January. The late Mrs. Masango once served the district diligently when she occupied the office of the district chairlady of women ministry. May her soul continue resting in eternal peace. Zone Big Sunday celebration is the good time when churches within a given zone meet on one designated Sunday in one location and celebrate together in worshiping and praising God. This kind of gathering brings an impact of Nazarene existence in the community. In March this year I attended Chingola zone Conference under the able Leadership of Rev. Charity Mushili, the conference was successful. One interesting topic discussed there was the Theology of songs that we sing in churches. The striking conclusion that was made was that; we need to emphasize singing frequently songs that disclose our identity songs like: Holiness unto the Lord and other related songs so that we can be reminded from time to time who we are. Also as Leaders in churches we need first understand, and interpret the meaning of the new songs being sang on the airwaves, before allowing them to be sang in our churches. You may agree with me that some song have very good dancing beats but their theology is very much distorted, more especially choruses. Fellow leaders let s continue organizing these gatherings. District Leadership seminars that I conducted in three Zones were successful and well attended. One important agenda that was in these seminars is the formation of Pastors Affairs Committee (PAC) in local churches. I do receive positive reports from both pastors and PAC members about the transformation relationship that has been created between Pastors and their congregations, because many Members have learnt clearly their obligations of looking after the Parsonage family. Thank you so much PAC members for being a blessing to our Pastors. District Youth camp was held at Baluba (B) Church of the Nazarene more than 80 youths attended. Youths who were in attendance were challenged to be involved

in the developmental issues of the church. I thank all Reverends and Pastors who attended this gathering. District Women Conference was held at Ibenga church of the Nazarene in the month of May. The conference was well attended, and was graced by Mrs. Mtambo, Mrs Chanshi, and Mrs. Grace Shelby Administrative Assistant to Rev. Mtambo in the Field office. Pastor Aaron Nyirongo graduated from our Theological College in Malawi in the Month of May. We praise the Lord that the Army of Jesus Christ is growing bigger in our district. Currently Pastor Aaron is helping the work in Chililabombwe zone awaiting assignment. Lets support this young pastor in all areas of his life. The first ever District Women Tea party was held on 11 th. June at Chamboli. The gathering was fruitful, and women were challenged to be compassionate. Later the gathering was characterized by singing and hearing the word of God. I encourage our women to be more involving in these kinds of programs to make our church known in all parts of our vast district. We visited Kapirimposhi and Serenje with Mrs. Yambayamba in June. The work of the Lord is going well in these areas. Rev. Mwale Zone Coordinator and pastor of Kapiri church, he is planning to open a new preaching point at Kambole along Great North road, about 12Km, from Kapiri town center. Few members of Kapiri first church of the Nazarene do live in this area and it is a good idea to take the church where they live. In Serenje, Pastor Chileshe is also doing a great work in this area. So far in this area we have three live churches namely: Serenje, Lumpapa and Chibobo. In addition to that three preaching points have been established namely: Lupiya,Kabeta, and Mulilima. One day before we arrived in sesrenje accompanied with Rev. Mwale 31x new Believers were baptized. Thank you Pastor Chileshe and Rev. Mwale for the wonderful work you are doing in this pioneer area. On Sunday 24 th. June I attended the celebration and commissioning of electricity at Ibenga Church building. The occasion was a blessing to all who attended, because the spirit of loving your Neighbor as your self was demonstrated. Because the money used to fix the electric in the church was donated by members of Woodlands church of the Nazarene of Lusaka. Our brethrens have not helped Ibenga but our district as well. Because as a District we will be benefiting as well. I thank Rev. Satela and his Congregation for this gesture. And I thank you Rev. Chiyesu for your leadership at Ibenga. Because since at the

time you assumed your responsibility as pastor of Ibenga you have transformed the place. Evangelism workshops conducted by our District Evangelist Rev. Timothy Chiyesu are yielding positive results. Let me encourage you fellow Leaders to encourage all members to attend these kind of district workshops so we can build our district. I thank you all who attended these workshops, and we are planning more such kind of workshops to be staged in our district. In regards to the statics this past year, we have won 862 New members and overall membership on record stands at Our District Evangelist Rev. Timothy Chiyesu will elaborate more on this when he gives his report. Financially, the Total budget assigned to all churches was K and the Total of K was raised, leaving a shortfall of K Our District Treasure Mr. Albert Matanda will give a detailed report and elaborate more on this issue, when he gives his financial report. I thank all Pastors and Reverends who fully participated in sending their budgets, monthly to our Treasurer. Remember that as a district we do not have any other avenue where to receive money to support all the programs in the district besides district budgets. At this juncture allow me to congratulate the following Pastors and their Congregants for paying their budgets in full. Certificates of recognition will be given to each church, toward the end of the Assembly: Kamfinsa: Rev. Monica Zulu Makeni Kalulushi: Rev. Bernard Musongwa Nakatindi: Rev. Frank Chilambwe Lubengele: Rev. Edwell Chifita Kapirimposhi: Rev. Davies Mwale Chamboli: Rev. John Mumba Serenje: Pst. Dominic Chileshe Mansansa: Pst. Meleki CHALLENGES Brothers and Sisters,.Infrastructure is the main challenge that we have at the moment. And it s my hope and prayer that permanent church buildings and houses for pastors will be built in the new areas we have entered and in old areas where the work of God started way back. I do thank our Field Director who is passionate to help us where he can to see to it that Pastors have their place to stay as they serve God.

CASTING THE VISION AND CONCLUDING REMARKS: Before concluding my report allow me to officially unveil the guiding theme of this new church calendar year. The theme of last church calendar year of WHERE IS YOUR BROTHER /SISTER will continue with an emphases of THE HARVEST IS READY. Fellow Leaders and members of our great church, The Region office have come up with the vision of winning 3.5 new members before And this vision is called VISION And as a district we stated emphasizing about the need of evangelism two years ago. And I strongly believe that the HARVEST IS NOW READY. I urge all Nazarenes in our district to be fully involved in Evangelism. Rev. Chiyesu and his team will be visiting each church and zones to evaluate how we are doing. Remember the evangelism basket is empty and we need individual involvement to contribute so that the basket will be full before Secondly, Brethren we need a district vehicle our district is growing. As I stand here I give thanks to you for coming up with this vision. And I thank you Reverends, Pastors, and Members of the Advisory and church Members who are contributing to this account. May God bless you because if we have a vehicle the work of the Lord will be fine. As you may be aware I do find some difficulties to visit out line areas which are far away from the main roads. I believe that very soon we shall have the car because leaders who are coordinating this work are very delegated and visionary Leaders. Thirdly I want to see that we open the preaching point in Ndeke. Brethrens Ndeke is growing very fast, because is now part of the new area called NEW KITWE. Big houses in new Kitwe are being built and more business men are going to settle in this new modern Town. I therefore request Pastor Kelvin Musonda, and our senior citizen and faithful member of the church of the Nazarene to start the new work in this. Pastor Kelvin and Mr. Matanda we will be supporting you to see to it that the new work succeed. With this new spirit of evangelism: With God s help I want to open an English speaking church in Mikomfwa, Luanshya. Since a new plant of manufacturing cement has been opened, and many more people outside Luanshya have come to settle in this town and there is great need to open an English speaking church to accommodate all tribes. (Rev. Chiyesu and Rev. Chileshe will coordinate the work). I want to see that we start church work in Fitobaula along Chingola/ Chililabombwe road. (Rev.Chifita Rev. Chilambwe and Rev. Nhlema will coordinate the work.) The work of the Lord is expanding and in this new calendar church year; I would like to see that all 13x Pastors of Kitwe and Ndola area who are students of

Nazarene School of extension complete their course of study so that some can be deployed to these new areas we are opening church works. And with the help of pastors I want to see that we encourage young men and women to go to residential college in Malawi. Remember the bright future of our district lays in the hands of our Youths. I want to see that the work of building a residential house for Rev. Sakala is accomplished in this new calendar year. I have discussed with other leaders that in October we need to see progress on this project. Brethren we need you support. And in this regard May I take this opportunity to thank the pastor of Chamboli Church Rev. John Mumba for his patient heart in this regard. Rev. May the Lord bless you. Friends before I conclude my long report all me to congratulate those who will be the recipients of the PILLARS OF FAITH CERTIFICATES. You are honored today because of your contributions at your local churches to make your church what it is today. May God continue blessing you and please rejoice because God will never forget your faithful contribution in building His Kingdom. And always remember that your names are written in the book of life.. Friends, words could not adequately express my appreciation to all DAB members for their faithfulness and wiliness to serve the District diligently. I even thank all Reverends and Pastors for maintaining the heart of love and unity among members in our district. Lastly, I salute my children for supporting and standing with me in all seasons of life. I say thank you to my dear wife for being a constant companion. She have traveled with me across this beautiful district, she has spent hours praying with me and for me as we move from church to church. My wife, I appreciate you more and more each day. May the happiest day of our past equal the saddest day of our future. That s a different way of saying THE BEST IS YET TO COME. God bless you all and remember WHERE IS YOU BROTHER/ SISTER THE HARVEST IS READY let s go and bring the lost to Jesus Christ. And God will reward us for being an instrument of evangelism. Respectively submitted: Rev.Wilfred C. Yambayamba District Superintendent

DISTRICT TREASURER S ENCOURAGING REMARKS TREASURE S COMMENTARY REPORT Dear: Reverends, Pastors, and Delegates to the 37 th. Copperbelt district Assembly. I stand here in front of you with a half smiled face because this year we have slightly not done very well in giving to what belongs to God. As you can see the Total budget assigned to all churches was K (Twenty six thousand Kwacha) and out of that only K ( fourteen Thousand One Hundred Kwacha) was raised leaving a deficit of K (Eleven Thousand Nine Hundred Kwacha.) As I said earlier that I have a half smiled face simply because I have seen a steady rise in improvement of paying budgets. Most churches that were struggling in this area last year, Praise the Lord this year they have improved tremendously. Brothers and Sisters God has given us a district Leader who loves God and his church. Honestly a man of his academic qualification and experience in church affairs cannot agree to be receiving average amount of K per month, as allowance. But our Leader gets that and always tells me that: God is there for us things will improve. Because of inadequate finances in our district offerings our Leader from time to time finds it difficult for him to visit outline areas like Kapirimposhi and Serenje. And yet these are new areas that need the attention of the presence of our Leader. Friends lets help our Leader so that he can be visiting our Brothers and sisters in Tazara corridor. ( Kapiri and Serenje) Brethrens we have great potential in our district as far as Leadership is concerned both in local churches and district level. But what we need to do to improve the situation, is to plan to pay part of the assigned budgets to my office every month than to try to do that at a last minute, when we are approaching the time of the district assembly. Friends, philosophers say that If yo u fail to plan then you plan to fail. Brothers and Sisters I can assure that our ship will never sink under the current DAB Leadership, and it is moving. What we need to do is to increase its speed by paying our budgets in time. Once we do that we will reach all our intended destinations in time.

In conclusion; may I congratulate all Reverends and Pastors who have paid their budgets in full. May God richly bless you and your congregations. And to those who have paid part of their budgets I say plan well and you will see an improvement. I KNOW WE CAN DO IT AND SHAME THE DEVIL God bless you all. Albert K. Matanda
