CHURCH ORGANISATION For the first time in the history of our district and in support of the Vision 2020, six [6] churches were organized in one day followed by two more Mabombo in Binga and Cowdrypark graduated from preaching point to fully organized churches, as if all was not enough two more urban churches were started and added to the list of existing churches awaiting evaluation and promotion into the mainstream. It is my pleasure to assure the house that Pelandaba and Agapao are doing very well. PREACHING POINTS The district is operating 19 preaching points and the number is expected to rise as the church intensifies to full fill the vision twenty twenty (2020). Quote, a blind person asked God; can there be anything worse than losing eye sight. God replied yes if you lose your vision. We must keep focused always and try not to lose our vision as a church and as individuals. 16 Articles of Faith and our Core Values were recited by one of our churches in Binga without missing a single one of them our brothers and sisters in Binga are proud of their church and their commitment they give walking above 50km for the lord shows how determined they are, all for the sake of the gospel and love for their church. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT Mr Chairman please help me to acknowledge the following auxiliaries for going an extra mile, District NMI for visiting at least all the churches. Organizing crusades and workshops. District SDMI for spear heading promotion of Sunday school Exchange Program and the strictly use of Sunday school books. Local churches for the DS food basket, District properties board for a job well-done, I am also compelled to say big up NYI, SDMI and NMI for holding a combined District Convention in August

PASTORS VEHICLE PROJECT Introduced to the churches in 2011 as a way of assisting our pastors at local level, I am glad to announce that Nkulumane church responded to the vision and bought one for their pastor hoping some will follow suit. We are therefore going to ask for some assistance in cash and in kind in the near future from individuals and churches alike. GOALS FOR 2017 Reach more urban areas for new churches. 16 DISTRICT TREASURER REPORT Honourable chairman, the Strategic Field co-ordinator Rev. P Mtambo, the District Superintendent, Rev. A Nyoni, distinguished guests, ordained ministers, respectable pastors, church deacons, DAB members, invited delegates and the whole august congregation, I warmly greet you in the mighty name of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. I am greatly humbled by this honour to present before you the finance report for the Zimbabwe West District Church of the Nazarene for the period December 2015 to date. Sources of Income 1) District Budgets 2) House Rentals 3) Fundraising Activities 4) Donations (Field, Region, International) The District budgets are our main source of income. They are currently pegged at $50/month. We however understand the challenges that our local churches are facing and accept less in exceptional situations. We also accept and encourage our rural churches to make their contributions in form of farm produce where they cannot afford to raise cash. Our flexibility on the amount and form of payment however does not mean that we do not take these budgets seriously, instead the opposite is true and we urge our churches to fulfil this solemn obligation. Total commitment in the fulfilment of this obligation by our local churches will greatly improve our finances and the smooth running of the church. Local churches will realize that in the period under review, the DAB financed all district organized events without asking for help from the churches. May this be a good sign to the churches that if well-funded, through the budgets, the DAB will perform much more for the good of all. We therefore urge churches to play their part in this regard. Debts 42A Rates $3 600 Tel One $ 570 *ZESA $

110 Napier Rates $ 190 Clearing these balances is currently a huge challenge for the district but if local churches could meet their monthly budget obligations and pay all they owe, this will be easy to offset. Fundraising We intend to do some fundraising activities for the District and one local church in the ensuing year. This will assist us to reduce our debts as a District and to build one church. It is regrettable that the proposals made last year to boost our coffers never saw the light of the day. We believe that this time around our ideas are more feasible and will get the required support. Transparency and Accountability We advocate for transparency and accountability in the handling of funds throughout our district. It would be well appreciated if all church funds coming into the district are transacted via the district treasury rather than through individuals. We also would like all church departments that receive and/or collect money on the business of the church to report at the year end and be subjected to auditing just like local churches. We look forward to our first audit of all local churches in the first quarter of year We have liaised with the Properties board and requested for compilation of a District asset register. It would be ideal and to the best interest of the church to have such. Conclusion. Yours in Christ would like to thank you all for a good working relationship and wish you a successful year 2016/2017. The Finance team and your Treasurer maintain an open door policy, your ideas on improving our finances are most welcome. Submitted by Christopher Dube District Treasurer. 17

Regional participation Five ladies from our zone attended the women s extravaganza 2016 held in South Africa Challenges At present, our prayer is for financial stability as a Zone; more so due to economic instability most of our youths are unemployed, hence it s hard for them to develop. This challenges has also limited the moments with regards to ministry work, thus ultimately affecting the growth of the zone. Way forward Donating toiletries to Ekuphumuleni old people s homes. Zonal outing Zonal couples meeting Evangelism Seminars Conclusion I would like to give special thanks to all zonal board members and those who tirelessly worked towards the initiation and implementation of the above mentioned programmes. As a zone, we are excited to meet together in unity of purpose, to fellowship, exchange notes and to do for the glory of God. May God abundantly bless us all. Rev D Motsi 30

Gweru Emmanuel Zone Report. Salutations: Allow me to greet our field strategic coordinator Rev Paul Mtambo and Amai Mtambo, Rev Obote the mission director in Malawi and Amai, Rev Joe Lilema the principal at our Collage in Malawi, Rev Yambayamba, DS s Rev A Nyoni and his wife Rev S Nyoni: All ordained Elders, Pastors, Deacons and all Church elders present today: I would also like to great my soul mate Rev Margaret Sibanda and the whole assembly. We come again to the end of an old church year and the beginning of a new church year. As we stand at the point where the old and the new intersect, we are inevitably driven to think of past achievements and future challenges. The church year has been a year of concrete spiritual advances in the life of Gweru Zone. More than one hundred forty new members have joined the fellowship of Gweru Zone this year. Fortunately, most of these new members are active participants in the life of the church, and have joined other members in inspiring worship services each Lord s Day. Achievements: We saw six of what used to be preaching points being organised to full church status by our DS and his team. We planted four new preaching points. Six more pastors were added to the great work of God through extension Study. The phenomenal Woodlands church of the Nazarene structure, that includes, the toilets, classrooms and administration block building project commenced. Now at the roof level. Managed to host our first ever work and witness teams successfully who promised to come again in two years time. Noah s farms project continues to partner with us in fulfilling the great commission at our Zone. Many of our elite students are being sponsored. We saw Pastor Khulani Dhlovu moving to Kenya to study his MAR. Also sponsored by Noah s farm. We held our Phenomenal Easter Conference that attracted more than 700 in attendance for 4 days. We held three Revivals as a Zone, and countless leadership seminars and workshops. 31

Challenges. We have one Church which is Mkoba that has a hall, we pray that we will have more church hall built in the near future. Financially we are hard hit like all other Zimbabweans. We have a shortage of pastors. Way Forward. In order to build more church walls we request that our leaders both from the district up to field and Regional level, to allow Noah s farm to be a 10% special project. The district and field to help us to get more students to ANU and at our Malawi Collage since we have many young people who feel called to ministry. The field to send us facilitators more so in the area of evangelism. Conclusion. Let me thank all the pastors in our Zone who have worked tireless, our ever green Evangelism team. Last but not least Noah s farm project, for all the support needed. To my wife Rev Margaret Sibanda, you are a star sweetheart, Franklin, Khayelihle, Khenyile, Kukhanya and Kholiwe, thank you for your support, love you all. Rev Noah Sibanda 32

To: SHALOM ZONE The Honouralable Chairman of the District Assemble Field Strategic Cordinator Rev. P. Mtambo, the District Superintendent, Zimbabwe West, Rev. A. Nyoni, the Church Elders, Pastors, the District Advisory Board, Members of the District Properties Board, Honouralable Guests, representatives of the church from the whole District and our visitors this day. Shalom Zone Report for the Year a) Zone Composition 1. Church of Nkulumane Rev. E. Mungure 2. Church of Nketa Rev. H Phiri 3. Church of Pumula South Rev. G.W. Phiri - Zone Leader 4. Church of Emganwini Rev. J. Mafohla b) Activities This year we had fewer meetings and activities compared to previous years, notable we did not have an annual Zone Revival Meeting due to many commitments also noted is that the District Program is too congested that it does not give space to allocate activities for the Zone and Churches as a Zone we feel Zone Leaders and Pastors should be involved in the crafting of the District Program because church leaders have plans for the running of churches. 1. Revival - No Revival during the year Pastors and Wives meeting was postponed 3. Men s Fellowship Held at Nketa Church was very successful a lot of teachings took place 4. Easter Baptism Nkulumane Church well attended 5. Binga Trip - Another big success around 150 people attended and about 30 souls Were won. Trip was tremendously a big success, about 11 members traveled equipped with Jesus Film, key-boards and drums, amazingly Binga people came in a big number the host church ha about twenty members only at the time. Most people enjoyed watching the Jesus film in their own language and when church music was played people wanted to stay until the next day we had to stop performing after mid-night 1:40a.m. The next day being the last day Sunday the attendance was good. There is need for the church to unite when travelling to Binga as our major outreach at the moment church members from other churches not from our Zone are welcome to join us so that we can make big evangelism in such remote areas. 6. N.M.I. and Evangelism Work in Binga - The District NMI President and the Evangelism President made a visit to Mabombo Church in Binga they met with the Binga Pastors and did the evangelism and NMI work in the area which 35

boosted the membership and strengthened the pastors of the area and the trip up lifted the name of the Church of Nazarene in that area. c) Bereavement The church continued to lose members through deaths in the year. d) Statistics Full Members Opening 562 Received 38 Lost 9 Total Current 591 Negligible Growth 5% Finances Income Last Year Growth 01% Paid To District Budgets 2100 Zone Budgets 240 c) Activities There has been no youths, and women activities during the year we realized that women used to meet as a zone, boost each church were they visited and the program is now a district program were women once a month meet at one district church to pray together and boost the church visited, also as mention before the district events are many, however on the youths side we failed to coordinated the youths activities, in future there in need to have several meetings with leaders of the organs of men, women and youths so that we may have a program for the activities. e) Evangelism The Zone is lacking evangelism approach there is need to embark on a massive evangelism, give support to each church to grow. We want to enter into the Africa Nazarene Region Vision. The Church Planting Movement (CPM) as a priority above all. There is need to coordinate the Zone and District Evangelism teams and come up with programs, especial identifying areas where our church does not exist and try to establish churches there within our Zones and beyond. I conclude by thanking our District Superintendent Rev. A. Nyoni for his support and guidance also I thank my colleagues for struggling to work together. 36

SALUTATION SDMI REPORT The chairman of the Assembly, field strategic coordinator Rev. P Mtambo, District Superintendent Rev A Nyoni, Church Elders, Pastors, Deacons, Distinguished guests accompanying Rev. Mtambo, District delegates and the church of God at large. I greet you in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen. It is my honour to present to you our SDMI report for Church year. The just ended year was a learning process for me and the committee, since it was our first year in the office. GENERAL OVERVIEW Sunday school and Discipleship Ministry is the evangelistic arm of the church of the Nazarene. It is the way we mobilise our people to reach our Jerusalem with the gospel, follow-up on converts, teach the personal application of scripture and make Christ like disciples. The purpose of SDMI is to see and carry out the Great Commission (Matt 28:18-20) to the children, youths and adults in our communities in preparation for a lifetime of Christian Holiness. ACHIEVEMENTS The following are some of the achievements we managed to pursue as a committee: During the District Stakeholders meeting we had four topics presented by our elders to sensitise and educate the Nazarene family the importance of our Church Doctrine, the roles of SDMI President, the importance of our Nazarene literature and the order of our service. We had a wonderful children s Get Together, held at Nkulumane Church of the Nazarene, powerful sharing and teachings were presented. Each church was given a chance to present special items, the special items were above board, it showed that the church has a bright future, if we continue to dedicate more time to our children. We were privileged to host Rev. Gary Sindle and wife to take Sunday school teachers for a Sunday lesson and how to present it. The Executive Committee took time to visit some of our local churches, to interact with local Pastors and SDMI Presidents, this is an own going process. We are glad almost all our churches are using Sunday school books, been sold by the literature department. 38

WAYFORWARD It has been said that. The world needs a rebirth of moral and spiritual values. What better way to see that happen than through the established force of Sunday School, teaching people the values that the creator established and calling them to commitment and prayer and personal involvement in changing the world. The SDMI Board is determined to work extra hard to see to it that our Nazarene literature is made available and is taught to all age groups in all our local churches. Seminars and workshops are been planned for all SDMI presidents and Sunday school teachers. We advocate to be given a slot in all local, zonal and district gatherings. Frequent visits to all local churches in the district will be our main duty in the new church year, we therefore urge all assigned Pastors to welcome us with both hands, we may come without a notice, please bear with us we are not on witch-hunting or on a spying spree, but doing our duty as outlined in the church of Nazarene manual (Section 238.2). As the SDMI Board, we request all assigned ministers to help us, the selection and approval of a SDMI President, to be someone mature and responsible. A person who knows the church. Nazarene Sunday School Literature no two ways, it s compulsory, we will work closely with Rev. D Motsi to get an update who bought the Sunday school books or not, all churches should purchase all books for all ages i.e. children, youths and adults. Sunday school classes should be divided according to different age groups, I know it s a challenge to our newly formed churches, let s try my Pastors. The Board will meet with the Education Board and discuss a curriculum for the special class we call Beginners Class. Also discuss how our SDMI Presidents and Teachers can get some Theological studies on certain topics, related to our church, e.g. Christian Education, Church History, Old and New Testament Survey, Holiness etc. Last but not the least we will be presenting our budget to the District Treasure for church year. CHALLENGES We understand we are going through economical and financial challenges as a nation, but the collection of Sunday school offerings, should be encouraged every Sunday. We request all local churches to send their SDMI President to meetings that are called by the District Committee. 40

SDMI Presidents and Teachers to attend workshops and seminars. SDMI Presidents to produce quarterly reports and send them to District SDMI President or Secretary. CONCLUSION Sound Doctrine is defined as the accepted beliefs of a group. It is a set of truths which define the parameters of a particular belief system. Therefore, Christian doctrine is the coherent set of beliefs and practises derived from the Bible which clearly define the parameters of the Christian faith. Paul spoke several times to the importance of sound doctrine. To Timothy, Pay close attention to yourself and to your teaching; persevere in these things, for as you do this you will ensure salvation both for yourself and for those who hear you. (1 Timothy 4:16). To Titus, Holding fast the faithful word which is in accordance with the teaching, so that he will be able, both to exhort in sound doctrine and to refute those who contradict, (Titus 1:9). In short, let s try and preserve our Nazarene Literature as it guides our Faith and practise, doctrine founded on and issuing from the truth of God s word. As we move into the new Church year, we hope that as a District we will be able to: Make the word of God our standard, teach, preach and live the message of holiness. Win more souls for Christ. Be faithful in the grace of prayer, discipleship and supporting all District programmes. With God Nothing is Impossible In His Vine Yard Pastor G. Ngwenya (SDMI PRESIDENT) 41

SCHOOL OF EXTENSION REPORT Salutations, The Chair, District Superitendent, Pastors here present, congregation at large. I greet you all in the name of our saviour. It is once again a great privilege for me to present to you the School of Extention. From Left is Mrs Gobile, Centre: Mrs Mafohla (Student Pastors) and on the right: Rev Elias Ndlovu, Zimbabwe West Registrar. The year was a challenging year to the extension school as we were not spared from the challenges facing our country economically, some of our students were failing to fulfil their obligation of paying their school fees and even now some are still owing, this is the only source of funding which makes the centre functional. But we thank God because he has been seeing us through. 42

Part of the Students Resource Centre at the School of Extension Student Resource Centre We really want to appreciate our Field Education Co-ordinator, Rev Gary Siddle for supplying us with more important books for theology, history of Christianity, Old Testament, and New Testament etc. These books are very useful to us as we us them in all our classes. It is my prayer that one day our centre becomes fully furnished with computers so that our pastors can get computer education. Let us remember, we are living in a world of technology, pastors should be equipped with such knowledge. Number of Centres Currently we have three centres in our District namely; Bulawayo with 10 students Gweru with 7 students Filabusi with 4 students Students taking their End of Term Final Examinations at Bulawayo Learning Centre (ANSE) 43

Binga Pastors being presented with Road to Emmaus Certificate after completing the course. Way Forward As we begin another new year as a District, we are looking forward to: To conduct refresher courses for our pastors for which l believe we are desperate for that in our District. To conduct short courses for Sunday school teachers and other Church leaders. Please let us know that School of Extension is not only to train pastors but it is open to everyone who wants to get such knowledge. To open more centres in order to reach our lay pastors and leaders with theological education. We believe God is going to open financial doors as this is our greatest challenge. Conclusion As l conclude, let me borrow the words of one of the philosophers by the name Socrates l quote the man who knows that he knows nothing is wiser than he who thinks he knows something or everything. I believe this is true. I want to thank the Field Education Registrar, Luphas Phiri for keeping us updated and supplying us with relevant information we need, we are always in touch, our District Superintendent, Rev A Nyoni for his continuous support to the school of Extension, Rev GW Phiri and Rev H. Phiri for always available in teaching ANSE clases. I thank you. Humbly Submitted by Rev E. Ndlovu Registrar 44

Zimbabwe West District: School of Extension LITERATURE REPORT 2016 The chair person field strategic coordinator Rev P Mtambo, the District Superintendent Rev. A Nyoni, Pastors, delegates and observers. I greet you in the precious name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Literature in Zimbabwe Allow me to present the literature report. At present Zimbabwe is no longer sourcing material books from South Africa region. Zimbabwe East and West is now looking North Zambia. The literature books are now within Region. Literature Zambia is now a centre place that will carter for Zimbabwe East and West District respectively. Sales Local churches are buying more of Sunday schools books, hymnals bibles and devotional books. New churches and preaching points need to be assisted with the use of Nazarene material as they lay the foundation of the church. The currently available sources include: Dedication, baptism and membership certificates, Holy Communion bread and cups Children material Challenges Zimbabwe is desperately in need of printing machines, which will enable us to cut costs and print more material for local churches that will also include local languages such as Shona and Ndebele. Way forward This coming year literature will raise every product by 10cents to carter Translation and also buy other devotional books. 45

Conclusion May I give my special thanks to our Local churches for supporting literature, may our God richly bless them. Special thanks to the District for making this year an eventful one. I do encourage our leadership and local churches to embrace in the knowledge and resources leading to church growth, all leaders are learners, the moment YOU STOP LEARNING, YOU STOP LEADING. Thank you Rev D Motsi Literatures 46
