In the dust jacket, designed by Patric F. O'Keefe, with periodic small closed and open tears in the edges. [54275] $50 From the dust jacket- "Six wives and thirty-six children made up John W. Taylor's precarious 'family kingdom,' and this book, as full of adventure as any novel, tells with humour and understanding exactly how it all worked out." 4. May, George S. James Strang's Ancient and Modern Michilimackinac, Including an Account of the Controversy between Mackinac and the Mormons. Mackinac Island, MI: W. Stewart Woodfill, Limited edition reprint. 100pp. Octavo [24 cm] Red cloth over boards. The front endpaper has a small numerical ink stamp and the rear pastedown is darkened near the hinge. This edition is limited to five hundred copies. This copy is number 239.
3 5. Roberts, B. H.; Foreword by John W. Welch. The Truth, the Way, the Life: An Elementary Treatise on Theology. Drafts 1-3 (3 volumes). Provo, UT: BYU Studies, Early printing. 987; 643; 846pp. Thick quartos [28 cm] Green vinyl cloth over boards with gilt and embossed stamping on the spines. Only minor wear to the extremities. [54141] $200 BYU Studies Monographs. From the Foreword- "As Roberts dictated, revised, rearranged, rewrote, and proofread these pages, especially Draft 1, he made so many changes that it would have left the printed pages extremely cluttered and would have been editorially cumbersome if the final published edition had reflected even a portion of those insertions and deletions. Because most of Roberts's modifications do not affect the substance of his chapters, BYU Studies decided that the best way to present the totality of the textual history of TWL was to publish complete photocopies of the three original drafts themselves. Although general readers will not likely take much interest in these pages, historians who enjoy working extensively with primary manuscripts will find certain value in some of the pages of these drafts." 6. Evans, John Henry. Charles Coulson Rich: Pioneer Builder of the West. New York: Macmillan Company, First edition. 400pp. Octavo [22 cm] Maroon cloth with gilt stamped titles on the front board and backstrip. Index. The spine is subtly faded, and the extremities are lightly rubbed. The front board has a minor stain, and there is a paperclip stain on the front pastedown. [54294] $40 From the Foreword- "And so began the great stewardship of his life, the dispensing of wealth given into his care for the help of the Church and the providing of employment for the people under conditions conducive to right living. This work was in harmony with the aspirations of his great soul, and brought joy into his life... But Jesse Knight does not stand in genealogical isolation; his forbears were actuated by the same spirit, and his descendants have a trend in the same direction.
