C 19 C M While looking through some old chapter files we found our letter dated June 4,1997 to National requesting that they approve our request to reform as Chapter members were committed to join our organization. Until now we thought that the information was lost and forgotten. To summarize the event, it was a pleasant experience for our chapter to assist the Special Forces Regiment, training our coming leaders at the United States Military Academy, West Point. Yet, we have been told by the Woody s Tavern management that a group of our people showed up in Farmingdale on the evening of our dinner. Unfortunately we do not know who. We checked through our correspondence pertaining to the dinner and found that the South Plainfield, Holiday Inn and not Woody s was listed as ground zero. While checking through our files we found that 4

the last issue of the Apex stated that there would be a change of venue for our future meetings and dinners/parties. Perhaps this caused the confusion? We hope not.

Next year we will have to pay a little more attention to that detail. What we do have are shots taken of each couple entered the room. Although we did bring our camera, we did not take any photographs. Since we have a picture taking deal with the DJ and why not take advantage of her good work. In the past issues of the APEX it was her photos that we have shown. Why not continue, her results S R On page one and two there are two photos of Sue being presented a plaque by our chapter President Paul Callamaras and the other board members. The plaque, from the Special Forces Association, is a testimonial for Walter s membership in this chapter and for his work to help maintain this chapter as a sustainable organization. C The 2016 Election for Chapter Officers will begin on October 1. It will, as usual, be 5

WEB S Since the WEB site was launched several months ago. The changes have been additions. One of the most important item is the addition of the: Army Retirement Services Ofice Soldier For Life ECHOES This is the magazine ECHOES, the quarterly Army retirement bulletin that has been mailed to you quarterly via snail mail. The edition is, we are told, an enhanced version with several more pages than the former snail mail hard copy that you have received all these past years. Check it out! B M D While doing the report for the December Christmas party we failed to mention a rather substantial donation given by Brian. His generous donation put us over the top financially.
