Chavuma Central, Mungole, Chiyeke, Chingi, Ngambela, Chiyezhi, Mavili, Sewe, Chitokoloki, Solwezi Central, Kyimiteto, Matushi, Watopa, Mumbezhi, Lukulu, Kasombo, Zambezi Central, Nyamong a, Kanyilaba, Chilen a, Chimwasu, Chun u, and Kamakon a, Chilen a b. Churches which have paid part payments are Mukongola, Samumbita, Chavuma 1 st Church, Mawande, Manyinga, and Loloma. c. This year we have had money from budgets K8,540 from all churches and rentals K4,500 and total income is K13,040 d. Last year church membership was 6,722 and this year s church membership is 7,410 with an increment of 688. e. We have the following churches started in our District, Kalola, Kyimakolwe, Muzabula,Kande (revived) Kachaba (Lukulu). II. Women conference held in Lukulu, Western province was a success and I thank you (leaders) all the ladies who came from Chavuma, Zambezi, and Solwezi. Women in attendance were 165. Ladies made the church known in Lukulu through evangelism and during the funeral of one of our members who died. We thank the Lord for what the ladies did burying the old lady and God bless all who attended. I urge other ladies to be attending such good conferences. On behalf of the District, I thank the Lukulu church members who gave all what they had despite the church being small. III. Youth camp( NYI )was conducted in Matushi- Mufumbwe where all youths from 48 churches participated and they were 322 in attendance. Thank you the NYI National president Rev. Tommy Njema and the District Leadership Pastor Samusole and his group for leading the youths with the message of hope. We urge our youths to start making arrangements for the Africa NYI Conference which will be held in South Africa in December this year. IV. Zone conferences have been conducted in Nyakulenga and Solwezi during Easter. We thank Rev. Munfunte and Rev. Kamusaki for the good work in organizing the conferences. V. I want to thank our FSC for the support in ministry by being with us in our plans of reaching out to Western province, Mongu in particular. I also want to thank the Woodlands Church which hosted us with a message of sending us to Mongu. We had good time as we went to survey Mongu the place for Christ and we discovered that the area was ready and ripe for the Church of the Nazarene. We need to continue with this vision not later than November 2016 and by 2017 December we must have a strong church started ( workers are few but the harvest is ready let us pray to have workers in the area of Mongu ). VI. We praise the Lord to have Brother John Leach who is working hand in hand with our District Evangelist Rev. Chinyundu and our Zone Coordinator Pastor Samusole and other many pastors in Chavuma for the gospel preached as a partner in Christ. Some new members have been added to the West bank churches of 25
26 VII. VIII. IX. Zambezi River in Chavuma through his ministry and we have three bole holes dug just around our church premises in Sefu, Chiteta and Mukongola. This is a dream that has come out alive because we had applied to have Bole holes in some areas such as these where people are drinking unsafe water causing chronic diseases like dysentery, diarrhea and typhoid among children and most adults. We thank Brother John to come closer to working with us. Indeed you are a partner and a brother in ministry and we thank the men you are working with. I want to thank churches which are supporting their pastors fully and those who are trying to give pastors basket. Please my plea to all churches is that every month end give a pastor s basket and sends a report to the district office. I want to recognize the following churches from the status of preaching point to Church type Mission Chimwasu, Kanyilaba, Mukongola, Lukulu, Matushi Nyamon a and Kyimiteto. I further acknowledge the following churches from Church type mission to organized churches - Chitokoloki and Matushi. We also thank Kakhoma Church which has tried with its own resources to build a good structure of the building. The church is almost finished and only needs to be furnished with iron sheets and plastering it inside and outside. Sir will you allow me to remove the following ten churches which are inactive from the active role of our spread sheet. We have exhausted all our ideas and found that they have failed to perform and these are;- Chikasa, Chitendo,Lweji, Kashima- Zambezi, Kangolongolo, Kasamba, Lwitadi, Mizeze, Kaikumba, Nguvu and Kamisamba. Challenges for the past year. A. The Chair sir, this year again we lost one of our own pastor Moses Kateembo in the month of May. We do realize that we shall meet those who have gone before us and are in the hands of the living God. The Lord has given us hope through His death and resurrection. I trust we shall meet our beloved brother when the trumpet call will be made. B. Infrastructure in our District is the problem. We have plots in Zambezi, Chavuma, Kabompo, Mufumbwe and Solwezi. In all we have failed to erect proper worship buildings due to financial constraints. Kimiteto church building is almost through and we want to request you sir as you go back to Lusaka to check on some of these projects in Solwezi and Kimiteto physically. The challenge we have is the roof, plaster and floor. Estimated building to be finished is K50,000 which is about $5000. We are on our knees in prayer that God shall meet the need of His desire. C. We have also another natural disaster which occurred in February where three churches namely Chun u, Kakhoma and Mandalo churches whose roofs were blown off by the hailstorm ( strong wind). All of our members up to now are worshiping in an open ground because the walls also collapsed. They have just finished molding the bricks. 26
27 D. Because of such, the DAB has asked all members in each Zone in the geographical districts to make donations both in kind and financially to help some of these disasters as a contingence revolving fund. E. We have the unfinished District Center also is dilapidating because it is incomplete for some time now. Kabompo Church has a plan in the township and no work going on apart from slashing the premises. Warning letters have been given to us and anytime the council may reposes it back. Solwezi Central is still on the foundation level too and it also need about K75, 000 -$7,000 for it to be seen as a church building. X. FUTURE PROJECTION (GOALS) A. Short term Goals a. Have an increase of membership from 7000 to 10,000 by next Assembly year September, 2017 b. Double financial budget paid from K 13, 040 to K26,000 by the end of 31 st August,2017 c. We need to finish the Kimiteto building by the end June d. New church plants from 12 to 24 by the end of September, 2017 e. School of extension to reopen with 85 students in the Zone Centers by the end of October 2016 f. Open 12 churches by the end of 2017 g. To 5 students enrolled in full time college in Malawi at our own NTCCA by the end of 2017 h. Have Zone conferences in all our 9 zone areas by the end of September i. Pastoral and District Superintendent care by all local churches through paying of Budgets, tithes and offering by the of September 2017 j. Our District to raise from phase one to phase two by the end of December, 2016 k. We will continue with all the long term projects as we stated last year. XI. We look forward to seeing our District grow spiritually, numerically and financially. This can only achieved when all members, pastors, elders, Zone Leaders etc will cooperate and work together towards the same goal. The Lord Jesus shall call us all and ask what we did for him and if we do not work together as a mighty team of God, we will not go anywhere. I appeal to all concerned Leaders especially our elders that lets us work for the Lord. The field is ripe and God needs people who are open for service. This year we will however have a lot of Zone workshops, Zone leaderships conferences and other Zone meetings pastors and other leaders to reduce the costs on transport but leaders will be moving from one Zone to another. XII. We have in each Zone a receipt book and as explained already we shall have competitions to see to each that every Zone will be active and a reward shall be given during next District Assembly. SPECIAL WORD OF APPRECIATION 27
28 I want to thank the District Leadership, all my fellow elders for working together in harmony and unity. This is not the time to throw in towels but let us fix our eyes on the Lord Jesus Christ because he is the finisher and perfecter of our faith who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame and sat at the right hand of the throne of God. May special thanks again go to my family for persevering together in ministry to reach this far. I therefor urge all members on this assembly to work up and work hard for the Lord who called you is faithful and will never leave you alone. Lastly I want to thank my beloved brother Rev. Lumene Yav Bernard and his family who have been accommodating and caring me in their home for seven years of my ministry. I do not have words to thank this special family only God shall reward this them for the many things they have done not to our family but also to our ministry hear. I have been fed free food, given free water and counseled us in many areas of ministry. May the love and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ bless you through and through and wish you Merry X mass and happy 2017New year. Respectively Submitted by; Rev. Kalumbila Isaac b.
