Feedback/Comments re: Community Connections Expo (June the Cobourg Community Centre) 2. Falls Resource development and Falls Prevention Month activity in November Falls Resources Distribution Plan Volunteers to be part of the video were contacted and 5 members agreed Completed The issue of quorum at the subcommittee level was addressed under Sub-Committee Membership Update Discussion about the positive aspects of the Expo and some recommendations for future events. 3 Several lists have been created re: distribution points for print resources Discussed distribution plan with each member to take on a certain population or geographic area for distribution Targeted promotion - limited resources and don t want them to sit Brochures (2500) Brochure holders (100) Magnets (2000) Tear off sheet padded in 50 s (each with 50 sheets = 2500) ACTION: Joanne BREWSTER will the excel list to the members, each member will review and decide which group or partners they would be willing to approach and advise Joanne BREWSTER and Heather GRUNDY of their selection(s). A master list of assignments will be sent back to each member along with a script/guide for discussing the resources After members make contact with the service/partner, and quantities are determined, Joanne BREWSTER and Heather GRUNDY will arrange to package the materials and bring them to the October meeting for distribution to the members A letter from the co-chairs to be included, along with a Safe Communities business card, when materials are hand-delivered ACTION: Joanne BREWSTER will draft a letter from the Co-Chairs to be included with the delivery of the printed resources Page 3 of 6 Approved October 13, 2016

4 Falls Prevention Video being produced by Kim CURRAN from the HKPR District Health Unit. Everything is on track for the fall prevention video release deadline Joanne BREWSTER and Heather GRUNDY will preview the video on September 12 th. A private link to the draft video will be sent to members for review NEW / EMERGING ISSUES Plans and activities for 2017 Power Point Presentation - another tool for education. Joanne BREWSTER sent Sheri BIRNEY an existing power point presentation (complete with speaking notes) that can be modified for our use Ideas/Suggestions: Heather GRUNDY discussed 7 in 17 idea have a Safe Community event or activity (including partnering with other groups), in each of the 7 Municipalities in Each of the 3 sub-committees would be involved, not just this sub-committee doing an activity in all seven municipalities For example, bring a speaker to the community, car seat clinics, etc. ACTION: Joanne BREWSTER to resend the power point presentation to Sheri BIRNEY Ideas will be taken to the Lead Table and members will be updated at the next meeting Members can think about what they would like to see accomplished by this group in 2017 Page 4 of 6 Approved October 13, 2016

Marilyn CARSON, Theo BARKER and Marcelle JOHNSON are not going to remain as active members. There were a few members who did not respond.
