3 If mortals die, can they live again? This thought would give me hope, and through my struggle I would eagerly wait for release. Job 14:14 In one of the oldest books of the Bible, the Book of Job, the question is asked, If mortals die, can they live again? That is something everyone should ask in life: What s going to happen to me when I die? What is there beyond my time on Earth? Death seems so cruel, so harsh, and so final. That is what the disciples were feeling when they saw their Lord, whom they had left everything to follow, hanging on the cross. They were devastated. Death had crushed them. If they would have remembered Jesus standing at the tomb of his close friend Lazarus they would have remembered that Jesus did something completely unexpected: He wept (see John 11:35). Jesus wept, because He knew that death was not part of God s original plan. Humanity was not meant to grow old, to suffer with disease, or to die. But because of the sin of Adam and Eve, sin entered the human race, and death followed with it. And death spread to all of us. Jesus wept, because it broke His heart. But standing there at Lazarus tomb, Jesus also delivered these hope-filled words from John 11:25: I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. Death is not the end. According to the Bible, there is life beyond the grave. And because of what Jesus Christ did on the cross, and because He rose from the dead three days later, we as Christians have the hope that when we die, we will go into the presence of God into a wonderful place called heaven. That is why the resurrection of Jesus from the dead is one of the most important biblical truths. The resurrection of Christ from the dead, next to the crucifixion itself, is the most significant event in church history. If you have put your faith in Christ, then Easter means that you have a hope beyond this world. You have a hope that surpasses this world s trials and troubles. Easter means you have hope that you will live forever in the presence of God. Page 3

4 THE ENDOWMENT FOR HUMAN DEVELOPMENT From their website The Endowment for Human Development (EHD) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving health science education and public health. EHD equips educators, clinicians, and governments to help everyone appreciate, apply, and communicate the science of health and human development. LITTLE ONE PREGNANCY GUIDE Available Now on ipad From EHD: Little One is an app available for the ipad. It will help you learn about your pregnancy and your growing baby s incredible journey before birth. Finding out what s new with your baby this week is easy-just tap the menu/timeline on your current week of pregnancy. You can also explore what your baby has already accomplished and what lies ahead. At week five: Blood vessels and blood cells begin forming throughout the embryo. The heart begins beating! (5weeks, 1 Day) The heart is tube-shaped and begins to fold upon itself and chambers begin to emerge. Eye development begins. The jaw and nose begin to form. (5 weeks, 3 days) Part of the thyroid gland appears. (5 weeks, 3 days) The first sign of the arms (upper limb buds) appears. (5 weeks, 5 days). At First Choice Women s Medical we try to show a woman her baby on ultrasound between 8-12 weeks. At this time the baby is between the size of a large sunflower seed ( oz.) and a purple top turnip (0.8 oz.). The development is going to be more like what she would expect to see. If a patient comes in much earlier than this we will make an appointment for the ultrasound during the 8-12 week stages. During the times outside of our window of opportunity for an ultrasound, this app would be an excellent tool to answer questions with pictures, videos and data for our expectant Moms. 7 NEW ADDITIONS We Have Twins!! These cuties are part of the Earn While You Learn Program. Their mom and dad came thinking they were pregnant with one and Libby surprised them with the news they were having twins. They are happy and healthy. Their mom and dad have been in our program since she was 2 months pregnant. Because of your generosity we have been able to help their parents with Car Seats as well as numerous things from the store. These parents work hard to Earn their mommy money, but we could not do it without you. Thank you for all the baby supplies!! More Twins!! Page 7
