2 The Boyz N Black & Gold swept the Kittens with their thrilling win. The season sweep marks the first time since the 2011 Super Squad that the Black & Gold dominated their division rival. The New Orleans Saints reclaimed sole possession of first place in the NFC South with a defeat of the Carolina Panthers yesterday in The Dome. The Saints rebounded after poor defensive performances each of the last two weeks. New Orleans held their division rivals to just 279 yards and 16 first downs for the game, and only 204 yards after Carolina's opening scoring drive. They did it without one of their best players, defensive rookie of the year candidate cornerback Marshon Lattimore, still sidelined with an ankle injury. Starting free safety Marcus Williams was also out with injury, while cornerback Ken Crawley continues to be slowed by injury issues as well, but he still played great! The Saints offense held up as well, putting up 400 yards of total offense against a very good Panthers defense. Brees, who completed 25 of 34 passes, reached 6,127 career completions, surpassing Peyton Manning (6,125) for the second-most all-time. Only Pro Football Hall of Famer Brett Favre has more with 6,300. Drew Brees passed for 269 yards, including a 10-yard TD to Michael Thomas a few plays after Panthers punter Michael Palardy lost his handle on the ball as he was about the kick it away. Palardy aborted the punt and threw incomplete, giving New Orleans the ball on the Carolina 31. Carolina entered the game ranked second defensively overall and third against the run, allowing 83.2 yards per game. The Saints rushed for 148 yards, with Ingram gaining 85. Ingram gained 122 yards from scrimmage, highlighting his day with a 72-yard run that set up his 3-yard TD.

3 In the 4 th Qtr, a fumble by Panthers punt returner Kaelin Clay near midfield set up Wil Lutz's 31- yard field goal to give New Orleans a lead. Cam the Sham passed for 183 yards and touchdowns of 21 yards to Christian McCaffrey and 24 yards to Devin Funchess. Newton also ran for 51 yards. Jonathan Stewart added a short TD run for Carolina, which had its four-game winning streak ended. Drew Brees is not surprised by the division accomplishment. We are in an extremely tough division. We knew that this was going to be a tough game. We came here to win and we were able to put players in the right place to make the plays, said a confident Brees. Of course, now, the Aerial Assault has something to back them for the first time in a long time - a reliable defense. The Saints gave up less yards, less first downs and far less third down conversions in their win over Carolina. The Panthers' comeback attempt was hindered by their inability to convert a fourth-and-6 play deep in Saints territory in the 4 th Qtr. Newton connected with Funchess, who was stopped a yard short by cornerback Ken Crawley. In the first meeting the Saints won allowing 288 yards of total offense with Carolina gaining 132 yards rushing and 156 yards passing. And Carolina was 7-of-14 on third down conversions. But in round two, the Dennis Allen-D was even more stingy. The Saints did allow 21 points, but Carolina only gained 279 yards of total offense yards rushing and 167 yards passing. Cornerback, Kenny V had a sack along with Linebacker A.J. Klien. Toss in CB, Ken Crawley s three tackles and two big pass break-ups, Cam Jordan s team high six tackles...and the Dennis Allen-D turned in another killer performance, shutting down the opposition and the biggest difference the second time around - the Saints 3rd down defense. Carolina converted only 3-of-10 third downs including just one third down conversion in the second half of the game. The Saints are 3-0 in division play with a win over the Bucs and a sweep over Carolina. And now the Dirty Birds are next. Can the Boyz N Black & Gold win out and go a perfect 6-0 in the NFC South? 4 Rookie sensation Alvin Kamara took the brunt of a hard collision near the goal line with Carolina linebacker Shaq Thompson, who is 2 inches taller and 15 pounds heavier than runner he was trying to prevent from scoring on fourth-down. Kamara bounced backward but remained upright, then slithered out of defensive end Wes Horton's ankle grab and dived under linebacker Luke Kuechly to find the end zone. "That was just: I've got to get in there by any means," Kamara said. "I got hit and got it on in." Carolina coach Ron Rivera seemed at a loss to pinpoint what his defense could have done better to stop Kamara, whose production as a runner and receiver as a rookie are placing him in distinguished company. Kamara finished with 126 yards from scrimmage, capping his day with a 22-yard gain on a third-and-10 screen pass at the two-minute warning. The first-down gain allowed New Orleans to run out the clock. "He's a monster," fellow Saints running back Mark Ingram said. "He's always doing his thing, running and catching. He's definitely the rookie of the year. He's savage. Cold-blooded." Kamara has touchdowns in six straight games, the first time a Saints rookie has done so in the team's 51-year history. Kamara needs three touchdowns to break George Rogers' rookie franchise record of 13.Meanwhile, Kamara's 614 yards receiving and 606 yards rushing this season make him one of only three rookies in NFL history to have at least 600 yards as both a runner and receiver, joining Pro Football Hall of Famer Charley Taylor and Billy Sims.

5 ON A SIDE NOTE: Backup rookie quarterback, Taysom Hill came out of Brigham Young for the Green Bay Packers. After being a surprise cut late in the preseason, he was signed by New Orleans as a developmental project. Last Sunday, he saw his first regular season action. The Saints coaches wanted to use Hill's size and athletic ability on a struggling special teams coverage unit. The gamble paid off, as Hill recorded two special teams tackles. Hill also forced a botched Panthers punt in the 2 nd Qtr, when his rush from the outside forced Carolina punter Michael Palardy into a bobbled snap, giving the Saints possession, which led to a New Orleans touchdown. I just like that he did it all, while wearing my number 7.

6 FAN-OF-THE-WEEK Congratulations to Ava the Fan for being our FAN-OF-THE-WEEK when we battled against the Karolina Kittens!! This Who-Dat showed up for gameday wearing her #17 (to Remember the Meach ) while winning a prize in the Halftime- Raffle and participated in ALL our chants while cheering for our Boyz the whole game and in the end, she gave away her prize to another fan! 8 NFC SOUTH: Coming into Week 13, the Boyz N Black & Gold sat atop the division with an 8-3 record and hosted the also 8-3 Karolina Kittens in a battle for division supremacy. In the rest of the division, the third place Dirty Birds hosted the NFC West-leading Minnesota Yikes while the Bucs traveled to Lambeau to face The Pack. So what happened in Week 13? It was a good week for New Orleans. The Saints beat the Carolina Panthers 21-31, with the Saints improving to 9-3, dropping the Panthers to 8-4. The Atlanta Falcons also lost, dropping to 7-5 and remaining in third place. The Buccaneers continued their downward spiral, losing in overtime to the Packers For Week 14, the Saints can continue to gain ground in the division as they travel to Atlanta in their first game against the Dirty Birds on Thursday Night Football. The Carolina Panthers could help the Saints out for seeding purposes by winning their game, as they get to host the Minnesota Vikings. And in a game that only few people in the division will care about, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers get to face the Lions in Tampa Bay. Just So You Know: If the Saints, Panthers and the Rams all win their next games, the Saints will move into the No. 2 Seed for the NFC. Win, and let the rest of the division take care of itself. This week; we need a Rams victory over the Eagles and a Panthers win over the Vikings and we can move into the No. 2 Seed! Of course, the Saints must beat the Dirty Birds for it to work.

9 EVIL FRANCHISE UPDATE: Of the 8 Evil Franchises; all but three have winning records so far this season. And the Bears (3-9) and 49ers (2-10) are rotting in the cellars of their divisions, while the Cowboys seem to think they re still America s Team but couldn t score any points until the second half of their last game! The Northern Dirty Birds 10-2 The Brady Bunch 10-2 The Karolina Kittens 8-4 The Sleazy Seabirds 8-4 The Dirty Birds 7-5 Jerry s Kids 6-6 Tru-Biscuit & the Bears 3-9 The 40-Nothings 2-10 This past Sunday, we witnessed the teams of the Commissioner s League of Evil round-table defeat the other underfunded, small market franchises to climb up the branches of the 2017 Playoff tree. The one evil team that failed in this task however was Carolina as Cam the Sham and the Kittens lost to the Saints for the second time this season, completing the SWEEP which hasn t happened since the 2011 Super Squad did it on their way to a 13-3 record. The League of Evil is on the rise and it ll be up to the Boyz N Black & Gold to turn the tide.

11 .And the CRUSADE continues The Saints match up well with other NFC contenders like the Panthers. If there's one thing to question, though, it's New Orleans' secondary. Can it match up against the elite passing attacks in the NFC if Marshon Lattimore isn't there? I wouldn't call Carolina's passing attack elite, but I would say that about the Rams' pass game, and the Rams carved up the Saints two weeks ago. Regardless, the Saints defense is better than we've seen in years past. The strength of this team is the offense. Brees, of course, is a future Hall of Famer. When the Saints can run the ball like they did against Carolina, they're almost unstoppable offensively. The way Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram run the ball is incredible, but they're also an asset in the pass game. That makes it hard to match up with either one of them. When Brees and Sean Payton know they have a mismatch, they're quick to exploit it.
