English Historical Note Page Stegner was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1937, the son of Wallace Earle and Mary Page Stegner. He is a professor English at the University of California at Santa Cruz. He has authored novels, numerous book reviews, and essays concerned with landscape and environment issues. Page and his wife, Lynn, live in California and in Vermont.
