What to expect - The only thing we ask you to do is to relax. You are with people just like you. Whether you have been here many times or never been to Church before, you can anticipate an encouraging and enlightening experience. Communion Preparers today are Cathy & Byron Metzgar Each Wednesday at 11:30am till 1pm our Bible Study Group numbers close to 30 people meeting first in the parlour for coffee and social time then on to watching this week s video and study the information. Many interesting conversations ensue. Everyone is welcome! Our study is called Living the Question. Even if you join in just starting now, you are sure to find it a very interesting hour and half. UCW "Thank you to Betty Crooke, Brenda Fleming, Bernice Matthews and Helen French for helping with Kitchen and Kitchenette inventory and cleaning. There are still some items left in the kitchen from the Christmas dinner. Please pick them up. They may end up at the Rummage sale in April. A great big "thank you" to everyone for your co-operation in helping to keep our kitchen clean and organized." Fellowship Club will meet on Tuesday February 4th at 7pm in the Great Hall. Since January s meeting was cancelled we will be having our games night this month. Please bring your favourite game as it will be a fun evening. And if you have goodies you would share they are also welcome!! See you then! It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Robbin Basaraba sister of Betty Ann Hornsby. Our prayers go out to Robbin s family for their loss.

4 At this time of year, when we are looking at resolutions, would you please give prayerful consideration to supporting the work of your church by offering your time and talents to St. Paul s? We have vacancies on the Communication committee and Faith Formation, as well as six retirees on the Official Board that need to be replaced. We would like to see another one or two volunteers for the nursery on Sunday morning. There is currently a wide variety of needs and perhaps you have the skills to share that will ensure the continuing work of our church. Contact Sheila Thompson or the church office for further info. The Observer: would you like to receive this award winning magazine monthly the renewal month is April. If you are presently getting the Observer and wish to continue doing so, you need do nothing just please submit your payment of $20.00 for your subscription. If you are not receiving it and would like to, please contact the church office at Those with envelopes have a special envelope included, to submit your subscription. If you are on PAR, simply put an envelope with your name indicating to pay for your Observer subscription. Thank You! Lay Visitor cards are on the back window sill for any of our visitors who need more cards. Thank you to all our visitors for the very important work they do for the church! Pop Cans and Boston Pizza Receipts! Don t forget to bring in your Boston Pizza receipts we get a % of each bill, the box is on the radiator near the large stairs going down to the gym. Pop cans go to help Habitat for Humanity and the container in the hallway outside the Administrator s office. If you are unsure, please ask a greeter or Sheila Thompson. The DVD s are copies of past services and are available for anyone who may have missed a service, or enjoyed one so much that they d like to watch it again, or share it. DVD s can be picked up and returned at your convenience. Chili Dinner on Friday February 21 st at 5 7pm in the gym at St. Paul s. Tickets $8 chili, garlic toast, dessert and tea/coffee. This is being put on by the Order of Eastern Star. Proceeds go to local charities. The Annual Congregational Meeting will be on Sunday February 23rd in the

5 2013 Tax Receipts! Tax receipts for 2013 are ready in the parlour for pickup. Thank You! The Faith & Science study course, Painting the Stars: Science, Religion and an Evolving Faith "(associated with Living the Questions). The first session was on Friday, January 25 th the next one will be the second Friday in February. Each session will be one and a half hours starting at 10 am on the 2nd and 4th Fridays. Through excellent written materials and an impressive list of contemporary speakers on video, participants will have an opportunity to discuss observations and ideas about the intersection of science and faith that impact an evolutionary Christian spirituality. The course will be led by The Rev. Dr. Ray Porth and others. Par &Giving Envelopes: If you have not received a set of envelopes or you would like to go on PAR (your donation deducted automatically from your bank account each month) please contact the church office at We encourage anyone giving on a regular basis to use envelopes or PAR so they can receive a tax receipt at the end of the year!!! If you know of anyone who is in the hospital, or in need of pastoral care, please let Karen or Bev at the church office at The Canadian Red Cross for your daily needs Your local Red-Cross organisation is offering various programs to seniors in the community. Our volunteers provide a door to door service. Would you like a hot meal for lunch or a ride to your medical appointment? Call our office for information and fees (Patricia Pommet) Annual Meeting & Report: budgets, and 5 year plans should be into the office, if you have not submitted the above information please do so ASAP.
