The year 2014 has been filled with more actions than any other year that I can recall. The year began with efforts to send as many containers of benevolent commodities as possible before the funding program ceased. I was in constant communication with contacts in the DOS and foreign nations trying to get as much done as possible. In the first six months we shipped more containers than we usually do in twelve months. Adding to the year s energy drain has been the invasion of Russia into Ukraine. This has dominated the last half of the year. Over one million people were displaced, tens of thousands were wounded, and the entire nation was thrown into upheavals. Because of our past efforts in Ukraine we were asked to help in getting food, clothing and relief supplies to those in need. We were able to work with in-country contacts so that the Lord s Church has received incredible recognition and respect. Our efforts were complicated because there was no funding from the USA for transportation and we had to plead with brethren to assist. This hurdle seemed impossible. BUT amazingly the brotherhood responded and we have been able to ship twenty-two containers with private funding! The exhausting efforts of 2014 have been blessed by God with success. The Ivano-Frankivsk congregation finally received its legal registration; we have been invited into three specific locations in west Ukraine to establish the Lord s Church and the administrations have offered us meeting places and offices; we have been recognized by many in the governments of the USA and Ukraine as being capable of performing with integrity in our actions. A number of commendations have been received to this fact. In brief, our efforts have been very effective in holding forth God s Church and the Bible s Truth. Your financial support in 2014 made these successes possible. This was the first year our efforts have not closed the year with a deficit summary. During this year we lost some support but the losses were quickly made up by some giving $25 or $50 or by others increasing their support through the year. Thank you for your financial support that has made 2014 a year full of work that brought glory to God and increased the borders of His Kingdom. Attached are the year-to-date summaries of the efforts you helped accomplish. Much more could be written for each point. I have tried to communicate fully in monthly newsletters, /blog updates and mission trip daily reports. I really want you to see the amazing doors of opportunity that the Almighty has opened for us. Will the financial support from the Rivergate congregation continue in 2015? Thank you for your fellowship and partnership in the Lord s work! Find updates and news online at

This committee developed a replacement program that replicates the successes of the DOS programs and expands it to have a global footprint. Established one new congregation in west Ukraine (in the village of Staryy Lisets, Ivano- Frankivsk Oblast) at the very basic level and much more to do in Personally participated in the unloading and distribution of containers shipped into Ukraine (Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv and Zhitomyr) Travelled and spoke to a number of congregations about our efforts. Visited a number in regard to raising funds to ship relief containers into Ukraine because of Russia s invasion.

3 College church of Christ 2934 East Moore Street Cell: (901) Searcy, Arkansas Home: (501) Highlighted objectives for 2015: Evangelistic objectives for 2015: Coordinate evangelistic efforts to help fully establish the Lord s Church in three new locations: Starry Lisets, Victoriv, and Cherniyiv. Continued follow-up on container distribution to bring respect and recognition to the Lord s Church resulting in opportunities to establish congregations in unevangelized areas of Ukraine. Assist other congregations in foreign missions by coordinating with them the collection and shipping of benevolent items to be used to further the Gospel in those nations. Projects to help strengthen local congregations: Produce CD Bible study topics for congregational use Travel to speak at local congregations as invited Sending containers of humanitarian aid that will be distributed by Christians and help to strengthen the Lord s Church and open doors for the preaching in these countries: Ukraine; Nigeria; Honduras; India; Romania. YTD INCOME FOR 2014 MISSION EFFORTS. $113, * Income from congregations Income from individuals (Including 2013 EOY donations deposited in 2014) YTD EXPENSES FOR 2014 MISSION EFFORTS. $108,824.59* $41, $72, *A full explanation is available upon request. This detailed list will offer the person, date, check number, amount, etc., involved in either the income or expense line. Some congregations/individuals contribute money just to finance the trips to Ukraine and provide a working fund for the projects done while there. These extra funds are included in this line item. The amount not covered by the trip contribution is taken from my mission fund. Included in this summary is $ per month that is given specifically for orphans.

4 College church of Christ 2934 East Moore Street Searcy, Arkansas Home: (501) Cell: (901) HIGHLIGHTS OF (JANUARY-NOVEMBER) Successes in evangelistic efforts: Sought to strengthen established congregations in various sections of Ukraine. Sadly the Russia invasion in eastern Ukraine prevented any actions in Mariupol, Donetsk, Simferopol, Sevastopol, Kramatorsk, Konstantinovka, Yalta and Gorlovka. At this point it appears that opportunity to reenter these regions of Ukraine will not be possible for the immediate future. I was able to work with congregations in Kyiv, Kremenchuk, Ivano-Frankivsk, Cherkassy, Zaporozhye, Krivy Rig, Ugorniky, and Zhitomyr. A sign of maturing was celebrated when the Ivano-Frankivsk congregation said it would like to oversee the planting of a new congregation in the nearby village of Starry Lisets. This is a village where a great amount of benevolent items have been distributed. The Ivano-Frankivsk congregation will work with a preacher (who was converted through the Ivano-Frankivsk congregation) in Starry Lisets. The Ivano-Frankivsk congregation is proud to say it has a mission work! News media coverage of the Lord s Church at work in newspapers and TV reports in Arkansas and Mississippi; frequent media coverage in Ukraine highlighting the Lord s Church in a positive manner as benevolent and caring. The media reports have been included in regular reports sent to supporters. Some of the video reports from Ukraine are posted on You-Tube. Successes in the worldwide benevolent effort through congregations: Foreign countries involved in my efforts in 2014: Mexico, Philippines, Republic of Georgia, Ghana, Haiti, Nigeria, Ukraine and we assisted several other locations within the USA (mainly Indian reservations in South Dakota). A total of 45 containers and 567 pallets shipped (pallets went to Haiti and supplied food, clothing and educational materials to children these are distributed by Christians throughout Haiti; containers went to Republic of Georgia and Ukraine). The average weight of each container is approximately 24,000 pounds and the pallets are approximately 2,500 pounds (A total of 2,497,500 pounds of items shipped in 2014 to be distributed through local congregations in foreign countries). The average container value was $175, (totaling $7,897,500.00). The pallets were valued at $18, (totaling $10,206,000.00). We thus sent a total value of $16,978, donated items shipped in the name of the Lord and His Church! Congregations where collections and loading took place: Clarkson, KY; Searcy, AR; Columbus, MS; Piggott, AR; Florence, AL. One country congregation in northeast Arkansas numbers 25 members but they collected 1,000 family buckets for the relief efforts in Ukraine! Donations of collected items and funds to help Ukraine have been received from brethren in TN, FL, NM, OK, NC, MO, AR, AL, and Australia and Canada! Highlights of special note from 2014: Two trips to Ukraine (June, October). Received several awards and medals from various organizations because of the efforts of the churches of Christ to provide benevolent help to strengthen the community s infra-structures of medical assistance, education and child care. 5 College church of Christ Page 2 Personally participated in Ukraine in the unloading and distribution of containers shipped to Zhitomir Oblast, Kyiv Oblast and Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast. Assisted in loading vans with relief supplies for those displaced and wounded by Russia s war. Utilized DOS' SMTP to ship cargo containers to: Ukraine (23); and The Republic of Georgia (4). This provided FREE transportation to the locations. Worked to raise funds and commodities to continue shipments from the private sector after the United States government ceased funding humanitarian aid into Ukraine we shipped 22 containers into Ukraine that were paid by our efforts. Of the 22 containers into Ukraine, in response to the pleas for help with the displaced, wounded, and others, all that have been shipped arrived safely and were distributed (or in the process of distribution). Special update reports are available of these actions. Worked as advisor/consultant to Pleasant Valley church of Christ (Little Rock, AR) in their efforts to begin shipping benevolent cargo into Haiti for their mission points. 567 Pallets of food and medical supplies went to Haiti shipped by the USAF out of Oklahoma, Mississippi and Arkansas. Served as Chair of Committee to develop continuing shipments after funding by the DOS ends. This committee has developed a replacement program that envisions replicating the successes of the DOS programs and expands it to have a global footprint. Continued striving to develop awareness of the Lord s Church in western Ukraine. This is a very difficult objective because the Greek Catholic Church is so entrenched in the culture. The Greek Catholic Church is troubling the Lord's Church. Our efforts have been validated by Ukraine s High Courts but there was a lawlessness that ignored the High Court s decisions. Thankfully in July we received the legal registration that has been denied for five years. The Church is now registered and working well. Continuing to provide Spanish speaking brethren Bible study materials (have added to the supply several studies and lectureship translations). Highlighted objectives for 2015: Continue the work with contacts in Washington, DC to launch a private funding alternative for shipping humanitarian aid overseas as we have done for many years. We will be able to continue collecting, shipping and distributing critically needed commodities through the Lord s congregations and bring respect and recognition to the churches of Christ as they emulate the Lord s example and commands (Acts 10:38; Galatians 6:10). This will provide the Church an opportunity to act globally! Be available to go and present series of lessons at congregations at no cost to the congregation especially small congregations. Continue follow-up on past containers distribution to bring respect and recognition to the Lord s Church resulting in opportunities to establish congregations in unevangelized areas of Ukraine. Focus on establishing congregations in Starry Lisets, Victoriv, and Cherniyiv. (See previous newsletters for reports on these areas asking us to plant congregations.) Please check online for updates at

Special requests have been received to help congregations with mission points in a number of nations. Assist the Ivano-Frankivsk Church in raising funds for their building program. Projects to help strengthen local congregations: Produce CD Bible study topics for congregational use Continue producing Spanish speaking Bible study series Send containers of humanitarian aid that will be distributed by Christians and that will help to strengthen the Lord s Church and open doors for the preaching in foreign countries. 12 Good News from David Smith (Pleasant Valley church of Christ, Little Rock, AR) on getting shipments into the Lord s Church in Gonaives, Haiti! We have had the joy of working with brother David Smith in shipping benevolent items into Haiti. Through these shipments there have been a number of new congregations established and the Christians have been able to make a significant impact in the community! Here is news from a recent shipment transported by the U.S. Air Force Original Message----- From: David E Smith Subject: ARRIVAL IN PORT AU PRINCE We are so very thankful for the Denton program and for their delivery of these valuable shoes (our first shipment!!!). We will start the distribution process to hundreds of happy children. You guys are great! Thank you so very much for the help in getting our 2700 pairs of shoes to Haiti. I did not know until further conversation with Gueston Pacius that this contribution was such an incredible help to these children (average cost of USED shoes in Gonaives $30/pair). We need help in getting our tractor and trailer to Haiti our goal is January 21. I know that that will require an expedited effort, but I am asking for this because of the unique nature of our need. Our inexperience has delayed the preparation of the humanitarian aid transportation application (our farmers were in the middle of harvest, and they needed some assistance in getting the comprehensive measurements and weights). Our farmers are key to the operation of the tractors as well as the teaching of the local people operation and maintenance. We have a critical situation since our old used tractor s transmission has made the current tractor inoperable. Our farmers, because of their harvesting and planting responsibilities, can only come in early February. A remote mountain community has no drinking water. Villagers travel 3 ½ hours round trip each day to get water. The road to the village must be widened and repaired in order for our drilling rig to get there. Several other building and farm projects badly need to be completed in February. Consequently, if there is any way to give priority to our request for shipping of this tractor and trailer, we would be overwhelmed with thanksgiving. Hundreds of people will benefit from your continued wonderful service. Thank you in advance for your help. David E. Smith, MD Haiti Christian Development Project Rodney Parham Road Little Rock, AR 72212
