Cheers, Rozanna Greetings Again: The Federation of State Humanities Councilssponsors an annual Humanities on the Hill advocacy day in Washington, DC, and ali state humanities council directors and their current board chairs convene in Washington to simultaneously visit all congressional delegations, urging support of the National Endowmentfor the Humanities (NEH) budgetand the good work of both NEH and the state humanities councils throughout the U.S. As we discussed during the January Installation Workshop in Riverton, i would like to request that you each send me a letter of support for the Bam Again! project, outlining specific positive outcomes in your individual communities. Attendance numbers, names of panel discussions, bam rehabilitation projects and surveys, or any other specific descriptions of your individual projects would be useful in a support letter. The letters wouldn't have to be long ^you could even use a list of "bullet points." I'm asking that each of you send me a support letter by April 2004 so that I'll have time to compile a scrapbook of letters, publicity news articles, and photographs. (Feel free to send any photographs, too!) As WCH Board President Wayne Deahl and I visit with Senator Thomas, Senator Enzl, and Representative Cubin in Washington on April 21, it would be terrific to be able to "crow" about the Bam Again! Wyoming Tour, by sharing a scrapbook of letters and project photographs with tiie delegation. Hopefully, this will make our congressional visits more memorable and emphasize the importance of cultural activity in Wyoming. Thank you for your help! Marcia

To the general public, barns represent both our rural past and ou^ agricultural present. They are monuments in the American landscape Nevertheless, modern barns are no longer the centers of industrial an4 couimunity life they once were. Traditional barns were not dcvsigned to store the enormous machinery and harvests of today^s large-scale furms. While renovated barns continue to play a vital role in agriculture, many in the agricultural world now consider the traditional, time-'honored structures obsolete. Barn Again explores the barn as both a cultural and agricultural icon. It examines the building as an architectural structure and as a means of expressing beliefs about what our country was and could be. It looks at the origin and fate of the barn in its roles as warehouse, factory, and legend. What values do barns represent? What do various types of barns and building techniques say about American society? Now have changes in agricultural practices led to changes in barn design? What do barns tell us about our past? And our future?
