Understanding Shaul or Paul from a Hebraic mindset LETTER TO THE GALATIANS
Let us jump right into Galatians Chapter 3. Galatians 3:1-9 They received the Ruach (Spirit) by Faith and not by works You must have faith first. Your works will come later We will find out later that Faith alone becomes dead Vs. 8 is from Bereshiyth (Genesis) 12:3 and 18:18-19 Vs. 6 is from Bereshiyth (Genesis) 15:6. Read 1 st Ya aqub (James) 2:14-26
Galatians 3:10 This is a quote from Debariym (Deuteronomy) 27:9-26
Galatians 3:11 This is a quote from Habaquq (Habakkuk) 2:4 (Faith comes 1 st )
Galatians 3:12 See Uayiqra (Leviticus) 18:4-5 (What does it do)? Helps you live
Galatians 3:13-14 What is the curse, Law or Sin? 1 Kepha (1 Peter) 2:24 Debariym (Deuteronomy) 21:22-23 Curses; Yahuchanan (John) 7:49; The Law is not the Curse Sin (Violation or transgression of the Law) is the curse or brings the curse Remember the Torah or Law brings both Blessings and the Curses (see last weeks study)
Galatians 3:15-16 This is a quote from Bereshyith (Genesis) 17:7 Making believers into 1 seed
Galatians 3:17-18 Bereshiyth (Genesis) 15:13-16; Shemoth (Exodus) 12:40; Acts 7:6 (Out of 430 years 400 of them were enslavement).
Galatians 3:19 is understood in 2 parts Add because of Transgression The Law was put into effect through a Messenger (Angel) Acts 7:35-40; See also 1 Corinthians 10:4 Shemoth (Exodus) 23:20-22
Galatians 3:19 is understood in 2 parts (Continues) Back to why the Law was given. It stated it was add because of transgression. What transgression could Shaul (Paul) be talking about? The Levitical Priesthood was never in the original plan of (Yashraal/ ישראל (Yahuah) [So to speak]. It was added because יהוה Israel) transgressed יהוה (Yahuah). The original plan was every firstborn child/beast was to be dedicated to the Father. Shemoth (Exodus) 12:12; 13:1-2, 13-15; 22:28-29; 34:18-20 Bamidbar (Numbers) 3:11-13; 3:41, 44-45; 8:14-19 What did the Leuites/Lewites (Levites) do to become Priest? Shemoth (Exodus) 32:1-28
Uayiqra (Leviticus) 9:1-10 is the Priests ordination. Uayiqra (Leviticus) 9:1-10 is the Priests ordination. Schoolmaster, using the Levitical Priesthood, why? Within these verses you would need to see the Mashiyach (Messiah) in them. Burnt offerings symbolize obedience to Alahiym (Elohim) and is a picture of the first four Commandments Meal offerings symbolize the last 6 Commandments. It represents fellowship with mankind. (Example: the Last supper) Peace offering symbolizes Peace between Mankind and the Father. All these are a sweet savor to the Father The one offering that is not a sweet savor to the Father is the Sin offering more on this offering later in this study.
1 Yahuchanan (1 John) 1:8-10; 2:1-4 Forgiveness is not a green light to sin (Transgression of the Law) It does not remove the obligation of keeping the Commandments and Laws of Alahiym (Elohim) His Death paid the price for SIN [Remember the definition of Sin]?
Hebrews 10:1-4 Why couldn t the Blood of Bulls and Goats take away Sin? Could something of lesser value (Animals) take away something of Greater Value (Mankind)? Vs. 3 states it is a reminder of sin every year
Schoolmaster Galatians 3:24 The Sacrificial laws was the schoolmaster. The Priest sacrificed for Israel and those that attached themselves too Israel. The schoolmaster: was intended by Alahiym (Elohim) to teach us about the value of a sacrifice. When violating the Laws of יהוה (Yahuah) there is a death that MUST take place. We are the one who sinned NOT the Animal (Unblemished) We are the one who should have died, but it should have taught us that He loves us and gave us Mercy, their by transferring our sins to the Animal, to give us a chance to repent and turn from our ways. That was lesson 1. See Matthew 23:23 As we will read in Hebrews, these were temporary, and ADDED because of transgression lesson 2.
Schoolmaster (Continues) The next lesson is He showed us just how much He loves us that He was willing to sacrifice His Son. His Son is a better sacrifice, because the Bulls, goats, etc, cannot take the sins away (Scapegoat) because we are worth more then them. The value would have to be equal or Greater then we are in order for the Sins to be taken completely away.
Hebrews 10:5-7 Sacrifice and offerings He did not desire, but a body you have prepared for me. See Psalms 40:6-7 [in the LXX version]. Burnt offerings and Sacrifice for sin you have no pleasure (No sweet savor). They were only temporary, to be a teacher or schoolmaster to us. He had no delight in them. This is saying He did not want the Levitical offerings to serve as a means of forgiveness.
Hebrews 10:8-10 He took away the First (Levitical Priesthood) that was added to establish the second which is the Mashiyach (Messiah) to becoming the High Priest. The Context of these few verses is dealing with the laws of Sacrifices or Levitical Sacrifices.
Hebrews 10:11-12 Offerings and Sacrifices that were ministered Day after Day could never do it. Who were the ones doing the sacrifices FOR SIN? The Levitical Priesthood. The blood of Mashiyach (Messiah) was the only way. Why blood? Life is in the blood.
Hebrews 10:14-18 The Sin offering was the Change in the Law [Changed not done away with]. The Laws is still righteous, spiritual, good, profitable for teaching, correction, for rebuke, training, and equipped for every good work. Galatians chapter 3 is clearly not talking about ALL the Laws but only the PART that was ADDED because of transgression. The Levitical Priesthood was added do to transgression. Laws governing the Priesthood concerning the Sin offerings has been done away with as we can see this day. The Father knew that the temple would be destroyed.
Hebrews 7:5-28 Melchizedek s Priesthood came First, then the Levitical Priesthood. Remember the only reason for the Levitical Priesthood was because of transgression. Perfection was not through the Levitical Priesthood, they were added for ישראל (Yashraal/Israel) to learn from i.e. a schoolmaster. Verse 12 The changing of the Priesthood, made a change in the Law. Can you see now what Law Galatians 3:19 is referring to? Not ALL Laws plural but 1 (Sin). Verse 18; the previous command is annulled because it was weak and unprofitable (for the Law perfected nothing).
Hebrews 7:5:-28 (Continues) Was the Commandments weak? Or is this a specific command that was weak? Weak in the Flesh. Read Romans 8:3 The command He is referring to was the one concerning the Leuites/Lewites (Levites), replacing the Firstborn, to teach us a lesson. Remember He is making a Kingdom of Priests [Shemoth (Exodus) 19:5-6], a Royal Priesthood 1 Kepha (1 Peter) 2:9; goes with a Royal Law [Ya aqub (James) 2:8]. Law that perfects nothing is the Law of the Levitical Priesthood. It was their temporarily, until the Promise came, which was יהושע (Yahusha) the Mashiyach (Messiah).
Closing Scripture verses Galatians 3:23-29
The objective of this lesson is not to point fingers at any one belief but to adhere to what the Scriptures and the Messianic writings have to say.
