1 ORDER OF WORSHIP November 6, 2011 Prayer of Confession O Lord, the great and awesome God, we have sinned and done wrong and acted wickedly, turning aside from your commandments. Forgive us, Lord, for your own sake, for we are called by your Name. Be mindful of your mercy, O Lord, and of your steadfast love. Remember not our sins or our transgressions; remember us for your goodness' sake, O Lord. For your Name's sake, O Lord, pardon our guilt, for it is great. Leader: Thus says the Lord, our Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: I am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake, and I will not remember your sins. Unison: Blessed be the Lord from everlasting to everlasting. Let all his people say, Amen! Praise the Lord! Welcome A heartfelt WELCOME to all of you in our RYTM online family! Thank-you so much for joining us today. We pray that you are encouraged and enlightened by our message about the All-Encompassing and Awe-Inspiring Blessings of Our Father God, Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and Our Comforter, The Holy Spirit. Scripture Reading Is. 46:5-9 To whom will ye liken me, and make [me] equal, and compare me, that we may be like? They lavish gold out of the bag, and weigh silver in the balance, [and] hire a goldsmith; and he maketh it a god: they fall down, yea, they worship. They bear him upon the shoulder, they carry him, and set him in his place, and he standeth; from his place shall he not remove: yea, [one] shall cry unto him, yet can he not answer, nor save him out of his trouble. Remember this, and shew yourselves men: bring [it] again to mind, O ye transgressors.

Affirmation of Faith A Contemporary Affirmation of Faith We believe in Jesus Christ the Lord, Who was promised to the people of Israel, Who came in the flesh to dwell among us, Who announced the coming of the rule of God, Who gathered disciples and taught them, Who died on the cross to free us from sin, Who rose from the dead to give us life and hope, Who reigns in heaven at the right hand of God, Who comes to judge and bring justice to victory. We believe in God His Father, Who raised Him from the dead, Who created and sustains the universe, Who acts to deliver His people in times of need, Who desires all people everywhere to be saved, Who rules over the destinies of all nations, Who continues to love everyone even when they reject Him. We believe in the Holy Spirit, Who is the form of God present in the church, Who moves people to faith and obedience, Who is the guarantee of our deliverance, Who leads us to find God s will in the Word, Who assists those whom He renews in prayer, Who guides us in discernment, Who impels us to act together. We believe God has made us His people, To invite others to follow Christ, To encourage one another to deeper commitment, To proclaim forgiveness of sins and hope, To reconcile all people to God through word and deed, To bear witness to the power of love over hate, To proclaim Jesus the Lord over all,

3 To meet the daily tasks of life with purpose, To suffer joyfully for the cause of right, To the ends of the earth, to the end of the age, To the praise of His glory. Amen. Responsive Reading Psalm 81:1-10 Sing aloud unto God our strength: make a joyful noise unto the God of Jacob. Take a psalm, and bring hither the timbrel, the pleasant harp with the psaltery. Blow up the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day. For this [was] a statute for Israel, [and] a law of the God of Jacob. This he ordained in Joseph [for] a testimony, when he went out through the land of Egypt: [where] I heard a language [that] I understood not. I removed his shoulder from the burden: his hands were delivered from the pots. Thou calledst in trouble, and I delivered thee; I answered thee in the secret place of thunder: I proved thee at the waters of Meribah. Selah. I [am] the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it. Bible Study* "In The Beginning God" (Genesis 1:1) IN THE BEGINNING GOD CREATED THE HEAVEN AND THE EARTH The first verse of the Bible reveals 3 facts about Our Father:

4 1. It presumes the existence of God. 2. It tells us the true meaning of His Name. 3. It explains what He does. This week we will explore Fact #2 PART II In the beginning God... Last week we discussed the definition of "Elohyim," - the Hebrew Name that Moses used for God in Genesis 1:1 This week let us explore the meaning of the Name which God HIMSELF told to Moses: And Moses said unto God, Behold, [when] I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What [is] his name? what shall I say unto them? And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. Ex. 3:13-14 The name which God used, I AM, is translated "Hayah," and means: to be become come to pass to exist While contemplating suicide, Shakespeare's Hamlet asks: "To be, or not to be, that is the question..." This is a question we all have asked ourselves (or will ask ourselves) at some point in our lives. When life becomes... too painful... too unbearable... too miserable... it is natural to wonder why we should continue to exist. However, with Our Father, there is no such thing as "not to be!" God has ALWAYS EXISTED! And there was never a time when He did not exist, or a time when He will cease to exist!

5 Or in other words - God is what He is, What He ever was, and What He ever will be. Period. In conclusion, God tells Moses His name is I Am... simply because... God IS! We will continue to explore God s Name and the Trinity next week. Thought for the week: HE EXISTS! Rom. 10:9 Prayer Request Father God, Our Magnificent Provider, we give You all love and praises. We wish to lift up to you, Lord, all those in need of prayer today. Only You alone, Father, know our hearts and the issues and difficulties which lie there. Only You, Father, can strengthen the weak, heal the sick, uplift the depressed, encourage the despondent and illuminate the hopeless. We Thank You, Father, for hearing our pleas on the behalf of those who cannot

6 or will not pray for themselves. We Thank You, Lord, for the events which You have already put into place on our behalf. We Thank You, Father God, for the manifestations of solutions which we have yet to see. We Thank You for being Our Waymaker and Our Problem Solver. Nothing is too hard for You, Lord and we can never praise You enough for being the God of Impossibilities. In the Name of Your Blessed Son, Jesus Christ, Amen. Charge But grow in grace, and [in] the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him [be] glory both now and for ever.
