4 Key Information About CCJ Operating nationally since 1942 CCJ promotes education, dialogue and social action with people of different faiths working primarily, but not exclusively, with Christians and Jews. Our Campus Leadership Programme brings new young voices to our national network University interfaith depends on students creating initiatives that meet the needs of students at their university. That s why our programme enables students to take the lead on campus. Through a year long programme of training, mentoring, networking and international study opportunities our Student Leaders are supported to set up their own interfaith projects. Student Leaders are part of our nationwide work and have the opportunity to participate in national CCJ events and campaigns around the country. With local branches throughout the country, Student Leaders can take part in local CCJ events. At the end of the year our Student Leaders graduate with the skills to become interfaith leaders in their community. Joining our Alumni Network allows students to stay involved with interfaith after leaving university. 4

5 What CCJ can offer Student Training Our Sudent Training Residential takes place just before the start of the academic year. Students from across the country are able to share their experiences and ideas of interfaith at university while receiving training in interfaith leadership and event planning. Speakers With our contacts around the country CCJ is able to put you in touch with a variety of speakers. Please be aware that our high profile speakers will need to be booked a while in advance and many universities have an external speakers policy. Event support CCJ is able to offer advice, useful contacts and funding for your interfaith events. After your event CCJ is able to help you publish a blog post on your experience. Mentoring You will be allocated a mentor who will meet with you twice and support you over . We have a mix of Christian and Jewish mentors available some of whom have recently made the transition from university to work and others who have been working longer in the interfaith sector. Our annual seminar provides students and mentors with the opportunity to explore issues around interfaith at university. 5

6 Programme Student Training Connect with CCJ Student Leaders and start planning for the year ahead. Attend training in interfaith leadership and event planning. First Semester Meet up with your interfaith mentor Run a launch event to celebrate Interfaith Week at your university. 6 Run an interfaith event at your university. Meet up with your mentor to reflect on your progress so far. Second Semester

7 Timeline Alumni Network After graduating you will become a part of our Alumni Network with opportunities to engage with interfaith and support new Student Leaders. At the end of your year as a Student Leader, a graduation ceremony will mark your achievements. Study Trips Graduation There will be international study opportunities during university holidays*. *Dependent on resources 7

8 Ways to be involved with CCJ in our 75th year As well as running events on campus, our Student Leaders will have other opportunities to be involved with the work of CCJ. These include: Participating in national CCJ events throughout our 75th anniversary year. Writing a blog post for our website and newsletter about your events or on an interfaith topic. Networking opportunities with young interfaith activists and senior faith leaders including CCJ Presidents. Interning at the CCJ office over the summer. 8
