3 ParaPak Collection kits should be used for stool specimen collection for PCR or Ova and Parasite (O & P) testing: ParaPak C&S- Enteric Pathogens Transport Vial (Orange capped vial with pink liquid) Use to collect the following: Stool Pathogens, NAAT LAB Place stool in vial immediately after collection. Keep at room temperature until transport to laboratory. ParaPak Ova and Parasite Collection (Gray and pink capped vials with clear liquid) Use to collect the following: Stool for Ova and Parasite Examination Stool for Giardia/Cryptospordia EIA testing Fill both vials. Keep at room temperature until transport to laboratory. BacT/Alert Blood Culture bottles should be used for direct specimen collection of blood or bone marrow for culture: Standard Aerobic (SA, Blue) Standard Anaerobic (SN, purple) FAN Aerobic (FA, green) Bottles designed to take up to 10mL of blood each.
