TOPIC 1: IN THE NAME OF ALLAH: We should say ب سم االله الر حمان الر حيم before we do anything because we want Allah to help us in whatever we are doing. If we say ب سم االله الر حمان الر حيم Then, Allah keeps Shaitan away from us and he cannot come and try to spoil what we are doing. ALLAH: THE MOST KIND, THE MOST MERCIFUL. Allah loves us, and when He created us He blessed us with many bounties. He created air for us to breathe. He created water for us to drink and wash ourselves. Just think if we had no water what would we do? Now you know. I begin in the name of Allah, the most Kind and the most Merciful Fiqh Page 3.2
STORY: IN THE NAME OF ALLAH: A long time ago there lived a woman who always used to say before she did anything. Now every night this woman, before she went to sleep would take off her ring and put it in her cupboard. And, as always, before she took off her ring she would say Her husband did not believe that just by saying Allah would help you. One night, to show his wife that did not make any difference, the husband took his wife's ring from the cupboard, where she had kept it safely, and threw it in the river. The next morning because the woman was late getting to the shops, she did not have time to get her ring, which she thought was still in the cupboard. The woman went to the shops and bought a fish for their dinner that evening. When she got home, she began to cut the fish so that she could cook it and what do you think she found inside the fish? Yes, there was her ring that her husband had thrown in the river. The fish had swallowed it. The woman was very surprised to find her ring in the fish, and when her husband came home she told him all about it. The husband was shocked. He then told her how he had thrown her ring in the river. He also told her how sorry he was and that now he truly believed that Allah looks after anyone who says: Moral: Always say before you do anything so that Allah will also look after you and when Allah looks after you then no-one can hurt you. Fiqh Page 3.3
ACTIVITY: IN THE NAME OF ALLAH: I begin in the name of Allah, the most Kind and the most Merciful. Colour the picture. Can you see the ring? WORKSHEET 1.2: IN THE NAME OF ALLAH: Draw 3 things you can start with: Draw when else we can say Bismillah before doing it: E.g.: Before drinking water: Fiqh Page 3.4
TOPIC 2: EXISTENCE OF ALLAH: Long ago there lived a wise king who ruled over a kingdom in which some of the people believed in Allah and some did not. To find out who was right and who was wrong, the wise king decided that the believers and the non-believers should sit together and discuss it. When the time arrived for the discussion, the unbelievers came but the wise old man who was a believer did not come. Everyone waited and waited but the old man still did not come. The unbelievers said that he had not come because they were right and that there was no god. At last the wise old man came. Everyone wanted to know why he was so late. So the king asked him to explain why he was so late. The man explained that he had left home in time but to get to there he had to cross a river and when he reached the river there was no boat there. He then told everyone that while he was waiting for a boat, some pieces of wood suddenly started coming out of the water by themselves and fixing themselves to each other with nails until a boat was made all by itself. It took a while for this boat to make itself and the old man had to wait, so that is why he was late. Everyone in the court listened. The man then continued with his explanation. All the unbelievers were very angry and called the old man a liar. The wise old man asked the people why they did not believe his story of the boat being made by itself, while they wanted everyone to believe that this whole world and everything in it had been made by itself, as they did not believe in Allah as the Creator. None of the unbelievers could answer the wise old man, and so the believers won the discussion. Now you know. That although we cannot see Allah, we know He exists from all the things He has made Fiqh Page 3.5
ACTIVITY: EXISTENCE OF ALLAH: Draw what the wise old man used to cross the river. What was the wise old man trying to teach the unbelievers by making up this story? The wise man was trying to teach the non-believers that.. Fiqh Page 3.6
