Islamic studies, al akhlaq From A to Z. Prophets stories. Cheerful artists!!! Students learned the English alphabet letters from F to N (Upper & Lower case) with focus on phonics & tracing-writing. They learned the numbers from six to nine. They learned Arabic alphabets alef, baa, taa, tha, jeem. Science: health and hygiene. Meats and protein, help build strong muscles. Eat right, the food pyramid is used to help you make healthy food choices. Dairy products, helps you to build strong bones. Team work & lots of fun!!! English, from O to S. Maths, from 10 to 14. Shapes, playing with the wooden toys improving children's mathematical abilities. Social studies, same and different, things that go together. Science. Sharks kinds, Ladybugs, Five senses. G-2: In Math, we are working on addition and subtraction, how to read a calendar, temperature and time telling. In Social Studies, we have discussed the equator, hemispheres, climate near and away from the equator and the 7 continents of the world. G-2: In Science,project on classification of animals, life cycles animals, animal adaptations, body coverings, camouflage, migration, and hibernation. In English, we are doing comprehensions and learning about nouns, pronouns, telling, asking and exclamatory sentences. G1-2: Islamic Studies : Surah Al Faitah, Surah Al Kawther, Surah Al Ikhlas, Hadith (Good Manners), Lesson One, Lesson Two from Islamic Studies Book and Allah our Creator. French We learned the names of body parts, days of the week, greetings, numbers from 1-20, colours and the verb to be. Arabic - We ve learned the days of the week, the sounds of the alphabets with Alif, Waw and Baa, as well as greetings and expressions to welcome visitors. Picture Day, Gotcha Box prizes! Field Trip in December! Students are encouraged to complete their homework and review class work on a daily basis. 5 HR Teacher: Sh. Ibrahim & Br. Abdul Haseeb Bowling Field Trip!! "Alhamdulillah, all the students did remarkably well in the October hifz test, which consisted of memorizing Surah Yasin. Majority of the students memorized the entire Surah in less than 10 days!. During October the students also began guided collective reading of the Holy Quran with the application of the science of Tajweed. The class is progressing well alhamdulillah." Picture Day & Progress Report Cards! Field Trip in December! Math: During September the students focussed mainly on long Division along with revision of multiplication, primes and factors. English: This October, the Hifz class worked on reviewing all the different types of nouns, adjectives, verbs and adverbs. We are progressing with the Units from EnglishSmart. We have also started our first Assignment! Social studies: We started social studies by reviewing our previous knowledge of Canada's history. We are beginning to learn about the wide varieties of First Nations peoples. Science Gr-5: Unit 1 Human Body Systems Gr-6- Unit 1 Biodiversity French: Days of the week, Describing the weather, Question words with examples, Objects in the classroom, Body parts. In Islam there is a great emphasis on cleanliness. In the Holy Quran, there are a number of verses which shed light at the importance of cleanliness: "Truly, Allah loves those who turn to Him constantly and He loves those who keep themselves pure and clean (Al Baqarah 2:222) In another verse Allah says: "In it (mosque) are men who love to clean and to purify themselves. And Allah loves those who make themselves clean and pure" (Quran 9:108) Cleanliness and purity has been emphasized by various means in hundreds of Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). In a Hadith the Prophet (pbuh) said: Cleanliness is half of faith. (Sahih Muslim Book 2, Number 0432) By Farhan Johri, Gr6 Student
