God has launched us into a new space that has challenged us to wrestle with new paradigms and demands that we have not had to contemplate in seasons past. At the same time, we have repeatedly seen God s abundant supply and blessings released in every next step of obedience. It has become clear that when God bestows extravagant gifts on us and broadens our horizons, it is not for self-serving purposes. We are directed to sacrifice more for others so that enduring processes can be released for greater amounts of people to benefit from kingdom interventions. This is a constant Scriptural message that became apparent, first in the life of Abraham and thereafter in the lives of every righteous individual who served God with unwavering devotion. Divine favour and elaborate benefits have never been for own advantage. We are the beneficiaries of indestructible treasures only to dispense those riches further afield for superior strategic kingdom outcomes. No objective is more strategic for God than transforming the nations. In Genesis 12:1-4 Jehovah reveals this lofty intention to Abram when He promises that He will make him a great nation, that He will bless Abram, make his name great and make him a blessing to the point that all families (tribes and peoples) will be blessed through this servant of God. Today, the New Testament reminds us that by faith we have become the sons of Abraham. We are blessed with Abraham; we are inheritors of the promises made to this patriarch (Gal 3:7-9). The Kairos course of Living Springs International expounds on this divine intent: The apostles and the New Testament writers never referred directly to the Great Commission, as Jesus gave it in Matt 28:18-20, but they refer many times to the Abrahamic Covenant in reference to world evangelisation (Acts 3:24-26 and Gal 3). They knew Jesus was not giving something new when He gave the Great Commission, but that He was reaching back two thousand years, taking hold of that Covenant God gave to Abraham and his seed, and presenting it to the Church, entrusting its blessings and calling to them. The Abrahamic Covenant is God s unchanging purpose (Heb 6:17). As children of God it is a privilege to receive a myriad of life-giving benefits from His hand, but as servants of Christ it is our duty to invest these celestial resources into the individuals that surround us, as well as the extraordinary dimensions of the harvest field of the nations of the world. Then and then only will we manifest the fullness of the mission, heaven inaugurated, when Abraham inhabited this planet. 2 Issue 2/2017 Office news UPF says goodbye to Crystal Strydom Seasons come and seasons go and so UPF has to greet one of its faithful team members. Crystal well-known to the UPF family and broader intercessory circles has been partnering with us since 2005 to undertake missions into France and later into nations in the rest of Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Crystal was the first permanent UPF staff member and has been part of the UPF office since September 2013, while she has been faithfully manning the Nations Prayer slot on Mondays since She has helped us to do more prayer journeys and projects into more parts of the world than was previously possible. Crystal has made a massive contribution in bringing UPF to where it is today and many have profited from her experience, wisdom, prayers, faith and perspectives as she made it her priority to nurture others on their spiritual journey with God. UPF wishes Crystal well on her onward adventure in God and prays that He would guide her footsteps towards further fulfilling her calling in Jesus Christ. Let us keep her in our prayers as she continues to obey God in faith as she has done for so many years! Unlimited Prayer Frontiers is so thankful for the beautiful offices that we now call home. We are challenged to think and function differently than in the past and we know that it will take a while to become effective and streamlined in our operations. We are in the process of putting different systems in place so that the ministry can increase its size and capacity to effectively run more and bigger prayer projects at different levels of involvement. Our heartfelt gratitude goes to the individuals who have started helping out in the office on a weekly basis. Presently we are praying for the permanent team to be enlarged so God s vision becomes a greater possibility. Functioning in the Father s mission will release superior power to see this planet transformed. Praise Him for the provision provided and the favour granted every step of the way. Pray with us for individuals who feel called to get permanently involved in the day-today activities of the organisation. Pray that the right doors be opened for them, provision be released to them and that they receive clear direction on how to fulfil their personal calling within the ranks of UPF. We are in desperate need of a copier in the office. Pray with us for provision and wisdom that this facility be made available for us. We need to be more productive and cost effective in our administration and training programmes. Pray that God will raise up more people to become part of the army targetting the nations in prayer. Pray for exactly the right people to be activated for the proposed international prayer journeys for the rest of 2017.

3 MAKING NATIONS OUR PRAYER PRIORITY Prayer for our city The Pretoria Prayer Force (PFF) is a group of inter-denominational believers committed since 2011 to pray regularly for the city of Tshwane/Pretoria. The commitment to continued prayer has motivated PPF to devote time to a systematic prayer process, mobilising and activating believers to pray more focused prayers for the city. To invest into this long-term process, PPF has launched city wide prayer projects under the Redeem Our City (ROC) prayer initiative. Born-again believers from all denominational backgrounds are invited to become part of these projects so that an army will arise to pray strategically and corporately for issues that spiritually influence our metropole. In 2016, PPF successfully completed ROC1: Restoring the Foundation, and ROC2: Building a Holy Temple. 4 To France we go By Leon Coetzee O n the 5th of May 2017, eight adventurous souls from South Africa and Lesotho gathered at OR Tambo airport to board flights for Paris, France. After nearly three months of intense preparations and several difficult challenges, the four men and four women were launched into their kingdom mission with miraculous provision that manifested the night before leaving South Africa. The team had an 18-day prayer journey ahead of them. Apart from a specific mandate to pray strategically into spiritually defiled influences over the land of France, the UPF team also set out to pray with determination into the connection between France and Lesotho. This African nation was evangelised by French Evangelic missionaries in 1832, and we knew that the Basotho in our team had an important reconnection to make with the land of their spiritual fathers, while blessing the French for their investment into the salvation of the Basotho people as well as interceding for the present generations of France to rediscover the potency and veracity of the gospel of Jesus Christ. The team arrived in France at a critical time, just before the last leg of the French presidential elections. Many in France felt negative and unsure of what the political future for their nation holds. Upper room From Paris, the team drove to La Gacilly in the eastern part of Brittany to spend time in prayer and spiritual orientation in Cecile and Alain s house. These two beautiful believers allowed us to have our upper room time in their spacious house while they served us with love and hospitality. Significantly, Cecile is a direct, fourth-generation descendant of one of the first three missionaries that brought the gospel to Issue 2/2017 Lesotho a man with the name of Spirit led us in a powerful way as we Thomas Arbousset. asked God to bring destruction to every demonic connection that is causing the people of this region of France to be bound and kept in deception. Our next stop was a nearby forest where New Agers visit the waters and old Celtic stones for different questiona- Northern Brittany From La Gacilly, the team travelled to northern Brittany, known for its prechristian Celtic religious influences that manifest in different forms of witchcraft and a culture defiled by the spirit of death. The team prayed for two days at different sites in the town of Guingamp, as well as the coastal town of St. Brieuc where the first Irish missionaries brought the pure gospel to the Breton people around the third century. God led us in a wonderful way. We were often assured that we were praying at the right locations as we discovered places seen in visions during prayer times in South Africa. We marvelled at God s wisdom and faithfulness to help us find strategic localities and connect with beautiful people. ble spiritual purposes. It was wonderful to realise again that God s grace is abundant and available through Jesus Christ to deliver generations and people groups from ancient schemes of the enemy. What a privilege to represent this message in a foreign land! The following day was spent on the west coast where a small town experienced revival in the 1930s. We had a cold, wet day and visited different loca- Quimper On 9 May, the team drove to the west coast of Brittany to be received by a local congregation in Quimper. Several locations in the region were targeted for strategic intercession. We visited a defiled hill where artists have been working for the last few years to establish the tions to pray that the Church may experience the renewal of the Spirit afresh, by overcoming dry religion and the spirit of death. With the local believers, we pleaded that a new generation be raised up that would impact France and the nations of the world with the saving knowledge of Christ. We left Quimper with overflowing hearts and a deep connection with the special believers. Saint Sauvant valley of a thousand saints a site set apart to venerate the myriad of Breton saints on a hill that was historically a burial place in the Celtic times. The Holy After a five-hour southward drive we arrived in the Poitou region. Saint Sauvant is a small town hidden in the country side of western France. For

5 some of us it is our second home in France as we have been visiting the believers in this area for more than 12 years. It was such a wonderful surprise to be housed in the new welcome centre we were staying in the manifestation of prayers prayed in the past five years! Our two days were filled with ministry and prayer times with both the English and French believers who call this region home. We could also pray further into the Lesotho connection as Thomas Arbousset completed his ministry career in the Protestant church of this small town and after his death was buried here. Orthez and Pau On Sunday 14 May, we travelled six hours south to the gateway of the Pyrenees mountains, the city of Pau. Here we were received by new contacts, a young couple and their parents. Despite language barriers and other practical challenges, it was remarkable to see how God knit us together in only a few days. Our first stop for strategic intercession was the town of Orthez the birthplace of Eugene Casalis, one of the three pioneering missionaries to Lesotho. We prayer-walked through Pau, praying at the castle where Henry IV ruled before becoming king of France. We prayed for the Church and the cleansing of previous iniquities perpetrated by the protestant royals of the area. We petitioned for the gospel testimony that once filled this part of France to be rediscovered and revived so that France and the nations may once again be touched by the eternal message of hope and life in Jesus Christ! The Cevennes From the snow-capped Pyrenees in the south we travelled in a north-easterly direction to the Cevennes mountains, known for its rich Huguenot history. UPF has been visiting this region since 2001 and our reception was filled with joy, warmth and special family moments. An evening of ministry to the local believers was followed by a day of prayer into the prophetic heritage that once filled this land. We prayed at Les Monteze that God would forgive the synod decision that caused the Holy Spirit to be prohibited in the Reformed Church. This was followed by a difficult hike and climb up to the Eagles Rock where we were awed by the vistas over these natural landscapes. We prayed that a new generation of godly prophetic people would arise, be trained and be released for God s eternal purposes. On the last day, the team visited the renowned Huguenot museum at Mialet to get a deeper understanding about the persecution and difficulties our Protestant forefathers were willing to endure in their pursuit of Biblical truth and dedication to God. Montpellier The student city of Montpellier was the last city to visit for prayer purposes. We travelled to the small town of Pignan, a few kilometres west of the city, the birthplace of Thomas Arbousset. From there we ventured into the city centre to pray into the historical relationship between the Church and educational institutions. We prayed for the young generations in France to be brought to the truth and redemption that can only be accessed in Christ. We followed the Spirit s directions to pray about demonic influence in the waters and felt that God was using us to weaken the schemes of darkness that veil the city and its people. Last stop Paris! After a speed train trip from Montpellier to Paris, we ended our remarkable voyage in the hustle and bustle of the city of lights and romance. We connected with a local Scottish congregation now led by a South African pastor, while we also found the offices of the Paris Evangelical Missionary Society who sent out those original missionaries to Lesotho in the early 1800s. We walked many miles in the avenues and boulevards of Paris to see the attractions of this tourist mecca, buying some gifts for our families and supporters and taking in the sights and sounds of old Paris with its art, architecture and history. As we boarded our flights back to South Africa on 22 May, we were thoroughly exhausted but equally content and thankful that God again granted us many supernatural and exceptional moments to glimpse the power and goodness of our Redeemer. Such an experience fuels our commitment to return soon. We have many special co-labourers in the kingdom and our prayer investment can help them to obtain breakthroughs and bring much honour to the Lover of our souls! MAKING NATIONS OUR PRAYER PRIORITY

6 Prayer journey to The Netherlands By Crystal Strydom S even South African ladies, with ages ranging between 19 and 74 years, had the opportunity to travel and pray through The Netherlands from 13 to 27 May 2017 UPF s fourth visit to this nation. The route During this year's journey, we visited eleven cities. We flew from South Africa, via Nairobi in Kenya, to Amsterdam. From Amsterdam, we made our way to Maastricht in the south via train and then travelled along the eastern border, visiting Roermond; Venlo; Arnhem; Enschede; Drachten in Friesland; followed by Almere, one of the two major cities in Flevoland (the province regained from the sea). After Almere, we had an awesome time in Amsterdam, The Hague and finished our journey at the university city of Utrecht. Mandate Our mandate came from Isaiah 61, a call to the Dutch to "Prepare and arise to full restoration and true worship". In unity, full of joy, in mutual respect and from a loving relationship between team members, flowed spontaneous worship unto God. I often had the feeling that this pure worship encouraged our Dutch brothers and sisters an encouragement that was needed in this season for them to prepare and persevere until the Lord awakens their nation to prayer and worship in Spirit and in Truth. Een opwaking uit God gebore" is the cry from their dedicated hearts. Maastricht In Maastricht we spent an evening with leaders of the 24/7 prayer movement young men and women representing 124 prayer watches in the Limburg province alone! They were eager to learn from our practical exissue 2/2017 periences; a time of questions and answers had produced one very interesting evening. Questions ranged from relational prayer, to sustaining an altar of prayer, endurance and the desire to remain faithful till Jesus comes. News about the South African Day of Prayer in Bloemfontein on 22 April 2017 had reached them and they were eager to hear first-hand eyewitness accounts of how we as South Africans had perceived the day and what happened when we as a nation stood before God for His intervention into our nation and history. We had taken along a short perspective on prayer, prepared and released by the Jericho Walls International Prayer Network, and combined with a short slide show of the day in Bloemfontein, we showed and testified to small groups in four Dutch cities. People were touched and really encouraged to remain dependent on God and to seek Him in this season of our lives, while "it's time". Roermond We had highlight moments in Roermond, a city plagued by a history of bloodshed, idol worship and recurring earth quakes. As we were praying through the history of that city, one of our team members felt to wash the feet of our hostess. In doing that, we realised that what she was doing for one individual, she was doing for the church in Roermond and the body of Christ in that nation. While being close to the border with Germany, spontaneous confessions and repentance were brought from the Dutch about their behaviour and neglect in standing with the Jewish nation during WWII. We participated in two half nights of prayer, and could undergird believers revering the name of God and seeking His Holy Spirit for change, hungering after God (Mal 4) for His touch on lives, families, and the church as a whole in all twelve provinces of the nation. The acknowledgement of our own sins of bloodguilt, idolatry, immorality and injustices is still guiding more and more believers to remove the offences against God from our nations to clear the way for His intervention. Amsterdam We accepted an invitation to participate with local believers to praise and worship on the streets of Amsterdam, called "lofprysing op straat". It came as no surprise that the gathering point was among Rembrandt's "watchmen" on the Rembrandt's Plain. We were out of our comfort zone, but worshiped and praised the Lord from the capital city. One Sunday afternoon we participated in a Cry for Life (Prolife) prayer session in the Tabernacle of the Nations. When one intercessor lay hold of the tassels on the prayer shawl hanging over a table and prayed that the flow of blood would stop (referring to the healing of the lady who had suffered from the issue of blood) many people came forward and started confessing abortions and the blood on the hands of that nation. An unforgettable Godly encounter! The Hague Our team had the privilege to spend a life-changing morning of intercession for the Dutch government. We accompanied intercessors of the Justice House of Prayer in The Hague into their "Tweede Kamer" parliament to pray for the Christians involved in negotiations to form a new government. The dedication of these men and women is a constant reminder of what faithful commitment and perseverance in prayer entails.

7 Utrecht In the university city of Utrecht, we spent three days fellowshipping, interceding and prayer walking a suburb where a new prayer watch has been established a year ago. In the suburb of Zuilen, we found the nations and the things the nations do We repented and interceded at a newly built Buddhist temple, a Freemason stronghold, places of commemorating the dead, churches engulfed in struggles for survival, the youth involved in hardcore drugging and witchcraft, a Christian primary school and at a ministry where youth workers are dedicated to see Godly change in their neighbourhood. Looking back We were well received and experienced special hospitality from our Dutch hosts. I once sat at a meal where eight different kinds of bread and three types of cheeses were offered! Looking back over our visit, there is hopeful excitement in my heart. I am encouraged by our Dutch brothers and sisters and their eager expectancy to take their place as a prophet nation to decree and declare the truth of God's Word over their nation and the rest of Europe, as well as the nations that they have helped to found and colonialise over time. As a team, we express our heartfelt appreciation for the financial and prayer support we received from fellow Christians, loved ones, family and friends. May the Lord bless you for the investment into His Kingdom in the Royal Kingdom of the Netherlands. 8 Praying, singing, prophesying in the Baltics By Collette Vosloo esus wept. J Of all the profound statements in God s Word, is there any that so captures Jesus passion and heart for this fallen world such as these written in John 11:35? To the team of four that left for the Baltic nations of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania on 17 May 2017, after an eight-week preparation period, it was clear that Jesus also weeps for the people who are dead in their trespasses, hurting and confused. On more than one occasion, His heart for these nations overflowed through our eyes. lovely homes built among seemingly ancient, skyscraper trees. Later, we learnt that it is rare for people to cut down trees they would rather build among the trees as the latter are still worshipped or believed to house spirits. For a nation that prides itself on being one of the two least religious nations in Europe, the irony abounds. Every team member was touched by what is so obviously part of God s design for this nation its singing! As in the case of Latvia, Estonia has also used singing both as a means of resistance and as a means of overcoming trauma. We prayed in the national festival arena where a choir of people perform annually for a crowd of more than Declaring that sounds of worship will fill the atmosphere, we asked the Lord to restore what the enemy has stolen, proclaiming that the next invasion will be an invasion of His Spirit. Partnering with OCE We met Henning Schikora a Norwegian living in France and a close friend of UPF in Vilnius, Lithuania on 18 May. Henning is part of Youth with a Mission (YWAM) and heads up Operation Capitals of Europe (OCE). The OCE initiative takes its mandate from Psalm 2 where it alludes to the fact that God pays close attention to the nations and their actions. Its focus is to pray specifically for the governments in Europe and this trip to the Baltic nations was the 20 th of 22 trips. UPF supported the OCE team as it also did last year when we joined a prayer journey to the Balkans. Tallinn, Estonia On 19 May, a nine-hour bus journey took us from Vilnius to Tallinn, the capital of Estonia. As we entered Tallinn, our attention was fixed on the Issue 2/2017 The YWAM base in Estonia is manned by only two people a young man and woman whom the Lord has called to serve His purposes in the difficult spiritual atmosphere. The OCE team now joined by an intercessor from Germany and an American living in Italy prayer-walked the old city and prayed at the gates, commanding them to let the King of Glory come in (Ps. 24). Watchmen on the wall. Literally. Henning Schikora is in the front. One evening was spent ministering to a group of young people being trained in the prophetic. We were so blessed by God s promises and His intention to raise up an army and prepare a bride for His Son. We ended our Tallinn mission by praying outside and inside the parliament. Rooting out and

9 breaking down demonic strongholds, we called forth a Godly leadership that will govern the people fairly so that they can, as is God s desire, bless the world with their unique gifts. Riga, Latvia We left Tallinn on 23 May and travelled by bus to Riga, capital of Latvia. There our group expanded as intercessors joined us from the YWAM base in View of Riga and some of its interesting architecture. Latvia, local believers and intercessors from America. During a prayer journey, one is not only overwhelmed by God s unfailing support and direction, but also by how quickly and how deeply the local believers find a place in one s heart. They are our brothers and sisters, and many of them are so tired of giving their all in the war for souls. It is a holy and precious assignment to come alongside them and lift their arms for a while. We ministered to them and were ourselves encouraged by the many confirmations God gave them through words of prophesy. Bought in Riga: Besides the unfortunate play on words, this is a really good example of the spiritual condition brought about by wars, demonic influences and hard hearts. In one prayer activity, we braved the pouring rain and followed a trajectory of monuments built to commemorate war, victory and freedom. We felt the Lord wanted to deal with the many lies and propaganda weaved into the building of these monuments. At the last monument the Freedom Monument a special time followed as a Russian worshipper (photo below, left) and a Latvian worshipper (below, right) asked and extended forgiveness to one another. We declared a new birth taking place in and through Latvia and called forth the spiritual midwives labourers in the vineyard to come and help in this crucial time. Prayer in and outside parliament followed on the last day and we joined in worship in a chapel on the parliamentary grounds.
