1 Newsletter No 3/ March 2017 IT S TIME God is calling His people to intercede for the nation. South Africa is on a knife edge and if the church does not stand up and take its place, we will end up like all the other nations to the north of us. The Lord has moved on Angus Buchan to call the Body of Christ to come together in Bloemfontein on 22 April and all over this country, believers are heeding the cry. God said, It s Time. And He said, One million. Teams of cyclists accompanied by intercessors are travelling from the Cape to Bloem, moving in shifts of 50 and 100 kms and more. The challenge has gone out to mayors and church leaders of towns along the way to call prayer meetings as the teams go through. Some groups are walking the distance, praying as they go and claiming the nation for Jesus Christ. Hundreds of fellowships are organising buses, taxis and coaches for their members. The Intercape Bus Company has made almost all its buses available for the journey. There is a mounting expectation among believers as the time approaches. There is going to be a mighty outpouring of the Holy Spirit as we come together to repent, cry out to the Lord and seek justice, righteousness and judgment. We believe the Holy Spirit is going to move as we have never seen before, not only in salvation, healing and deliverance, but in supernatural ways to intervene in the government of this nation. If your church or organisation has not yet become involved, mobilise them! This is going to be a life-changing, nation-changing event and you are going to want to be part of it. Be there. When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people, if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 2 Theewaterskloof reservoir, one of Cape Town s main water supply reservoirs, 15 months ago. Today it stands at 20% full, these dead trees are high and dry, and the waters edge is about 50 to 100 meters away from here. We are going and will be representing family from different fellowships who are unable to participate. We will take photos and give you a report-back in our next newsletter, but we believe the media will be alive with what the Lord is going to do on that day and in the weeks to come. Leadership information session Cape Town Angus Buchan came to speak to church leaders in Cape Town on 23 March to explain the vision and tell us about the preparations and the plans for the national prayer day on 22 April. By the time he spoke to us, over young people had already volunteered their services to help out in any way necessary: setting up power lines, screens and other facilities, helping with those in wheelchairs, directing traffic, organising parking all the myriad things that preparation for such an event require. Dozens of doctors and healthcare workers in Bloemfontein have offered their services free for the inevitable health problems that arise when sick people come to be healed. Farmers have opened up their farms for campers, marking out camping sites and bays, erecting toilets and so on. Offers of help, donations and support are rolling in from all over the country as people realise how critical the day is and how important it is be part of it in whichever way possible. Of course many people have indicated they will start arriving from the beginning of the week, others mid-week and others just for the day itself. 3 Tremendous opposition has also arisen, with virulent and completely unfounded accusations being launched against Angus. Obviously there is also much satanic activity to try to hinder the proceedings, so Angus and his family and team need prayer protection. Keep them in your own prayers and also intercede for the Lord to have His way on that day. As the information session drew to an end, many church leaders came forward to join Graham Power of Unashamedly Ethical to pray for Angus. It was a very moving moment and the presence of the Lord and the anointing of the Holy Spirit were tangible. We have just received a message from a farmer in Bainesvlei near the site of the prayer day. He says the atmosphere is charged with excitement and expectation as huge activity takes place. Tractors are preparing the ground. Trucks arrive with diesel donated for the event. Helicopters fly overhead as animals on game farms are darted and moved to other farms to make way for people to attend. The largest sound system in Africa is being erected. If you can t be there, get together with believers in your area and join us all in prayer. Saturday 22 April from 12 midday. Be part of it. First quarter It s hard to believe that the first three months of 2017 have already flown by. The demand for deliverance continues to grow as more and more people learn about the children s bread and realise that the Lord has made provision for His people to be set free from the obstacles that have hindered their spiritual growth. In a ladies meeting towards the end of the month, the message was excitedly received by those present and new doors of ministry are once again opening up. And the questions are asked: why don t churches offer deliverance? Jesus called deliverance the children s bread (Matt 13:21-28; Mark 7:24-30) and when He gave the great commission he said these signs shall follow those who believe... they shall cast out demons... He has never altered those commandments. So why don t our pastors tell us about deliverance? Many haven t been taught. Others have been told that Christians can t have demons. Others don t understand what Christ has made available for us. Still others don t really understand that we have an enemy and that we have the authority and the weapons to defeat him. And of course, many simply don t know what to do about demons and are afraid or too proud to ask for teaching. So the words of Isaiah and Hosea come into play: Therefore my people are gone into captivity, be- And Jesus, walking by the Sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. Then He said to them, Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men. They immediately left their nets and followed Him. Going on from there, He saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets. 4 How many lives do we have to see wrecked and abandoned like this old fishing vessel in Gansbaai harbour before we actively rouse ourselves as the church and DO something about it in a unified manner? cause they have no knowledge: and their honourable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst. (Is 5:13) My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.. (Hos 4:6) But the Lord finds ways to answer the cries of His people. He has raised up many people who pray for those seeking deliverance and by His Holy Spirit leads His children to them to be set free. One particular ministry that we can also strongly recommend is Pieter and Helene Theron, who are based in Mossel Bay and offer courses in different towns and cities in South Africa as they are invited. Those who are interested in starting to practise deliverance receive invaluable information and guidance through these courses. See there you can find information on the dates and times. At the conclusion of every course, they offer deliverance sessions to those who register. So if you find that your spiritual growth seems to have hit a dead end, or you are experiencing difficulties with habits, relationships or mindsets that you seem unable to overcome, ask the Lord whether you should be seeking deliverance and if so, then ask Him to lead you where you can be set free. Increasingly, it is spreading to different churches in the Western Cape, providing fellowships with a platform to tell others what the Lord is doing in their areas and giving a voice to the Body of Christ to share, instruct, learn and encourage. 5 We were delighted this month to find a meaty article on the Lofdal Restoration Centre, founded by Pastor Ulrich Strauss, where we minister during the week, teaching the young men coming off addictive substances like tik and alcohol and praying for them for deliverance. Drugs pose a growing problem among our youth and we believe the article will provide many parents and loved ones with information and hope for the future of their sons, brothers and friends caught up in tik and other drugs. Lofdal Restoration Centre is doing an amazing work, transforming lives, restoring relationships and building up families that were broken apart. Young men find their identity, their dignity is restored and their lives start afresh.
