4 Our Congregation in Ministry Congregational Meeting: A congregational meeting will be held today at 10:45 am in the sanctuary for the purpose of electing new officers. More information is in the newsletter. Usher Meeting: There will be an usher meeting today immediately following the 8:30am and 11am worship services. Both sessions will be held in the sanctuary and should last no more than minutes. There are a couple of new responsibilities we need to share with the group. If you have any questions, please contact Jim Worden, jworden@vidanthealth.com. Choir: You are invited to sing with the Chancel Choir for special music during the Advent and Christmas seasons! This is the perfect opportunity for those who enjoy singing, but are unable to commit to choir every week during the year, and also for those who would like to give choir a try without a year-long commitment. Seasonal music rehearsals began this past week but there is still time to jump in! We will practice Advent and Christmas music from 7:00-7:45, at which time our seasonal singers may be dismissed and the remaining singers will practice anthems for October and November. Hymn Festival/Mission Trip Reflections: Join us on Sunday, October 21 at 4pm for Singing Our Story: Songs of Faith, Hope, and Love. This is a Hymn Festival designed by Karrie Rushing and Brad Collier, and featuring Michael Morgan, Director of Music at Edenton Baptist Church, as our guest organist. After the Hymn Festival, we hope that you will stay for dinner and reflections from the Honduras mission trip, sponsored by our youth. The catered dinner will begin at 5pm, with the mission trip recap following. Confirmation: Confirmation Class will begin on October 14th. We will have a meeting for confirmands and parents on Wednesday, October 10th, 7pm, in the Fellowship Hall. Dinner will be provided.
