2 Greetings Everyone, Alleluia! Christ Has Risen. As we continue in our Easter season we continue celebrating the risen Christ. Overall the season of Easter, in total, is seven weeks and ends on Pentecost Sunday which is on June 4 th. This means along with a whole lot of activity we will continue our celebration of Easter throughout the month of May. The month of May also is when the synod assembly will be gathering in Marquette. This is also the meeting time where we will hold the election of a new Bishop. The synod offices should, by May 1 st, put up profiles and pictures of candidates interested in being nominated for being the next bishop of the Northern Great Lakes Synod. I look forward to see that information and be able to gain a good understanding of what may be in the future for our synod. May is also the month which we recognize the ultimate sacrifices in which members of the armed forces have given on Memorial Day. As a veteran myself this is a time for me to remember the many brothers and sisters in arms that I served with who sacrificed their lives for their country. On Memorial Day I will be participating with local veterans groups in their honoring of the many that have given their life for the services of their country. I encourage everyone to do the same. In regards to church activities, there are plenty going on in May. This includes a Sunday worship time change to our summer hours of 9am starting May 28th. As for the rest of our church activities I encourage you to explore the many articles in the newsletter. For the month of May and every month let God s blessing and care be with us all.
