1 S Sep w elcomes Light of the World Christian Fellowship will host our September network luncheon. This will be our first gathering since our annual summer break. Pastor Jerry Martin welcomes everyone to this time of networking. Mark your calendar to get 're-connected' with fellow leaders from through out the region. The meeting will begin at 11:30 for a time of networking; so bring plenty of your business cards and connect with fellow leaders through out the Humble area! Lunch is free and will be served at 12 noon. The meeting is concluded at 1 o'clock in respect to your busy schedule. Those that wish to remain a little while later may do so.. 2 CONGRESSMAN'S ROUNDTABLE WITH PASTORS AND MINISTRY LEADERS On Thursday, September 1st, Congressman Ted Poe will be conducting another Roundtable event with area pastors and ministry leaders. Over the years the Congressman has conducted these 'open-forum' settings where leadership can openly share their concerns and ask questions. The event will be held at the offices of Lake Houston Area Chamber of Commerce, 110 West Main Street, Humble, Texas (phone, ) at 8 A. M. A continental breakfast will be served. Northeast Ministerial Alliance (NEMA) will host the event. Area Pastors, their Staff, and Ministry Leaders are welcome to attend this important meeting. HOLIDAY MEALS FOR FAMILIES

AGLO INTERNATIONAL'S WORLD WIDE CONFERENCE SEPTEMBER 29-OCTOBER 2, 2011 GEORGE BROWN CONVENTION CENTER (FLAG OF THE NATION'S PARADE THURSDAY NIGHT) Speakers Chuck Pierce, Johnny Enlow, Ray Huges, Graham Cooke, Jane Hansen Hoyt (President of Aglo International) Worship Leader Klaus Kuhn (formerly w/christ for the Nations) For information: eartmenders22@gmail.com HAM Radio Operators Needed In the past few months, the need for HAM Radio operators has surfaced several times through different seemingly unrelated conversations and after prayerful consideration, it seems prudent for us to create a network of willing operators from each of our chapters and centers that would like to participate. I don't know about you, but I had very little knowledge of HAM radios- so at the encouragement of Charles Burchett, Somebody Cares Jasper/Newton County, Terry and I both took a two day course concerning HAM radios. In the end, we were "certified" to

6 have a HAM operator LICENSE. Also, at the end of that class we realized that actually KNOWING what to do with that license and BEING EQUIPPED to use it was a totally different matter. After much prayer, we decided that instead of trying to actually purchase all of the equipment (which can be very expensive) and learning how to operate the radios (which can be time consuming), it would make much more sense to create a network of friends of Somebody Cares and let those that already were prepared communicate for us. As a result, we are now asking each of you if know of someone in your personal network of ministry friends/partners that would be agreeable to serve as a part of the Somebody Cares HAM Radio Network in case of disasters if needed. We are asking for a commitment to be available to communicate with other HAM operators across our network should the need arise in an emergency situation. We hope to have at least one representative for each of our active chapters and centers. I have found that there are many HAM radio clubs that do this for emergency personnel on a regular basis. If they would be willing, please forward their name, phone number, and CALL SIGN for their HAM license to our office. We would like to publish our "network" of operators within our private network of chapters and centers in advance so that in times of disaster that network would be able to communicate with each other and share both assets available and needs as they become known.
