Community Life and Pastoral Care We believe that relationship should lie at the heart of all we do and so we encourage everyone to belong to one of our small groups. We have a varied small group structure and our desire is that everyone in Bath City Church has someone who is looking out for them. Pastoral care is provided through these groups. In addition we have Community Elders who oversee groups of up to 50 people, providing support to group leaders as well as looking out for folk not yet part of a group. 3 events TEACHING AND MINISTRY WITH CLIVE CORFIELD 3-5 OCTOBER 2012 How to minister under the anointing of the Holy Spirit, three days teaching and ministry with Clive Corfield. When the Holy Spirit came on the church it wasn't just for a few special people it was for everyone. We have such an incredible power available to us if only we would fully realise it. Clive is a powerful teacher and minister in the fullness of the Holy Spirit. He will take you on a journey to uncover the dynamo of the Spirit working in you, to help you in life, to get you using the Spirit to minister to others. David Pawson takes us on a one day Bible equipping seminar on covenants. David Pawson is an international Bible teacher, he has a huge grasp of biblical principles. His teaching on Covenant is foundational to an understanding of biblical faith. He will take us through the scriptures and unfold God's plan for mankind through the paradigm of Covenant. 5 ...by Monday at 1pm. ROOM Prayer Room - Autumn Term Lift up Your heads oh you gates and be lifted up you everlasting doors, that the King of Glory may come in. (Psalm 24) Liz Evans writes In the vision and values course, we were talking about how our prayers and prophesies are access points where heaven invades earth - where God takes hold of your hand - and eternal truth, unbreakable power and unstoppable peace are established on earth. 'My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations'- it's an access point. God showed me the Prayer Room as a fireplace in the house. The fire is in one place, but the warmth spreads through the whole house. The burning coals (us) ignite one another and they are cleansed and proclaim the light and power of God. In that place God comes down to bring us provision and gifts that we can use to bless others and communicate the light. The Prayer Room begins it's cycle of prayer again this week. It is a mix of prayer in different styles, Both with set times of led prayer, and a space to do our own thing. The rota will include times to be free flow, quiet and contemplative, talking and active, creative - just have a look at the list. If we don't have a time to help you engage with God, let us know. My favourite time is late at night, in the quiet, God seems to fill the silence with His favour and presence. The weekly Rota will be in the Prayer Room, in on line, or available from Reception Talk to us if you would like to get involved, (or to Rosie in the office if you would like details to access the Prayer Room for out of hours prayer.) Whole Church Prayer Meeting Our monthly Church Prayer meetings (formerly Open Heavens) will now take place in the Prayer Room, breaking out into a larger room when we need to. We are really excited about praying in a smaller space as it gives a much more intimate and participatory style. The recent prayer meeting, where men and women divided for prayer was really powerful. The men and women came back with some great feedback and we plan to do that again. The first new look Church Prayer will be on Monday 15 October. English Classes English classes resume tomorrow evening after the summer break. We are looking forward to welcoming returning students as well as meeting many new faces from overseas. Please pray for the team of people who facilitate this ministry into our city and give of their time to teach others our interesting language!! We also give thanks for the All Nations Team who look out for church family members who are from other nations!

THE PHILIPPINES Soup Run Sue Hill is looking for a couple of volunteers to join the Soup Run team on a Sunday evening to distribute food from 7pm - 8pm. Experience isn t essential, but it is helpful to be a car driver as we need to get food and equipment to and from the meeting point. Fra Neale is ministering and working in The Philippines. All children will start in the Auditorium for the first 20 minutes before leaving at 10.50am. Ruth s KREW joins with Paul s KREW for the first 20 minutes for KREW TIME every week in the Ballroom, after which they will return to their meeting venue. Ruth's KREW has moved venue to the ATTIC.
