We ve been blessed with a beautiful instrument in our sanctuary, and as our music program grows and changes we ve felt it necessary to adjust its sound slightly to make it more appropriate for the repertoire our body of faith has come to enjoy. Today, we re hearing selections from the Polish-born (though French educated) Fryderyk Chopin. Take a moment and enjoy the lush quality of our piano as it plays magnificent music in a worship space that truly deserves it. Give me that old-time religion... One of our music program s greatest strengths is its diversity! You just never know when you arrive on a Sunday morning if you ll hear Grieg, Gershwin, or Gaither. Join us for worship on July 23rd as we make an intentional move from the cathedral to the tent meeting; we ll sing all of the old songs accompanied by banjo, fiddle, and a healthy dose of the Holy Ghost! So set aside your seersucker, get out your hat and polish your pearls as we gather by the river for a good oldfashioned Little Rock revival! Back to School Supplies for Booker Teachers! As school lets out, our teachers look forward to a well deserved summer break! But as they pack up their classrooms, you can be assured they are already making a list of things they will need in August. Many of these things will fall outside their allotted budget for classroom supplies, so how will they pay for any extras? If a teacher needs a new rug, it might take time to save up. If we at FUMC can help our partner teachers with the necessities, maybe they can afford extras that make learning fun! Yellow collection school buses will be set up outside the main office and in the children s wing beginning July 9th. Give generously as teachers are the trainers for our country s future.
