2 Bringing Hope to a Broken World But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit. 2 Corinthians 3:18 (NASB) On the cover and throughout the 2014 Annual Review are watercolor images. A watercolor comes into being from the flow of pigment suspended in water. A binder holds the pigment in suspension and fixes the pigment to the painting surface. Additives alter the viscosity and durability of the color. The theme of our 2014 Annual Review is transformation. Transformation is like watercolor: God s love suspended in the body of Christ and flowing outward, held together and secured in human hearts by the power of the Holy Spirit. Like additives, we, in obedience to the Spirit, seek to influence the flow and durability of the gospel within communities and nations. As in watercolor, the outcomes are both unpredictable and marvelous. God is on a mission to bring hope to a broken world, and he invites us to join in his work! Here s the challenge: billions have never met a follower of Jesus. They have no idea how God can transform their lives. Courageous love is willing to do whatever it takes to bring good news of Jesus Christ to lost people wherever they live, whatever their condition. One Challenge is creatively partnering with the global body of Christ to reach people far from God. Some live in remote places, others are culturally distant from believers, and many are simply unengaged. Inspired by Barnabas in the book of Acts, we help influencers and churches from many nations dynamically live out the gospel in word and deed, in their neighborhoods and around the world. In this report, you ll see love in action: in the Madagascar rainforest, among Asian lepers, through Romanian teamwork, and by caring for Latino families serving in North Africa. Fueled by passionate prayer and strategic information, disciple-making communities are multiplying in difficult places. God s people learning to love in ways that invite God s transformation into homes, sporting events, and the workplace. Thank you for partnering with One Challenge in over 90 nations in the world. 3 ur focus as we go out is to share the gospel and work with God to see people saved, says Dinah (an OOC partner). As we step out in obedience to what God speaks, He will move through us to bring salvation. Indeed, He is moving in the jungles of Madagascar. Over the last five years 3,450 churches have been planted in the dense rainforest of this island nation. In 2014 alone 2,000 people received Christ and 220 new churches were planted. Still, 78 percent of the country is yet to be reached, that s 1,500 unreached villages. Dinah, mentored by OC worker Karl, works with Malagasy pastors and church planters to reach the nation for Christ. Church planting is not establishing a church then letting it fend for itself. It s an ongoing process of coaching, mentoring, training, and encouragement to help pastors maintain the DNA of biblical values while church multiplication continues. Island Missions (Dinah s organization), in partnership with OC, seeks to bring the gospel to all corners of Madagascar and provide hope in meeting the material and spiritual needs of the Malagasy people. Pastors are planting churches, discipling new believers, caring for orphans, providing clean water, and helping train people in sustainable business practices. life-giving churches multiply in communities worldwide. Spreading the Gospel in the Rainforest Research Facilitates Ministry & Prayer One Challenge is committed to research. Without an understanding of the status of the church in a nation, its current needs, and a notion of what might be the best practices to impact that nation for Christ, workers could be the blind leading the blind. Research uncovers information that can be used to define strategy; it facilitates ministry and prayer. For an organizational partnership in a Middle Eastern nation, prayer and research were the first steps to understand where God was already at work and had prepared the ground for new disciple-making movements (DMMs) in key cities, which will hopefully transform the people within this country and beyond. for workers as they implement strategy and share the gospel in diverse contexts. Aworker and her team (from a partnering organization) had a vision for this country DMMs in each of the major cities. But they did not know where to begin. OC workers Larry, Stephanie, and Katie were asked to provide research assistance in this Middle Eastern nation, by advising and training the workers doing the interviews and on-the-ground research, as well as analyzing the data obtained. Through a long process and many answered prayers, the research was completed in 2014, with members of the Global Research Team crafting a thorough report and creating graphics and maps to enhance a clear and compelling ministry message. The research OC helped accomplish has already been used to facilitate direct prayer for non-churched areas and suggest strategy as to how to promote disciple-making movements throughout the nation. Pray for the workers in this region as they implement the strategy and share the gospel in this critical and complex context.

4 Sustaining Mission Families One Challenge saw significant impact in ministry to the missionary kid (MK) community around the world in As you might expect, much of this was related to education and mentoring done through MK and international schools. One Challenge provides staff to eight schools around the world. Yet our ministry extends beyond the classroom. We are devoted to serve missionary families who serve in tough places. Oftentimes families find it difficult to remain in their country of service when the needs of their families are not met. As the global mission force expands to include workers from all nations, the tools needed to keep families on the field become more complex and diverse. The OC team in Southern Spain has implemented a ministry of care to Latin American missionaries including hospitality, counseling, coaching, and educational needs for workers and their families. As they care for Christian workers, they in turn sustain the spread of the gospel in North Africa and the Middle East. Please join us in prayer for this ministry in Spain and in many other countries around the world where the training and care of MKs is essential to the fulfillment of the Great Commission. Also pray for Matt and Rachel, appointees to the team, who will soon join in this ministry. Matt and Rachel are both MKs and the Lord has captured their hearts to serve others in any way He sees fit. for the care of missionary kids and their families serving in difficult places. One Challenge is devoted to help the global body of Christ to work together for the fulfillment of the Great Commission. Reaching a lost and broken world with Jesus love requires a massive team effort involving believers from every continent. Through One Challenge and its partnership with the Global Alliance, Christian communities around the world are mobilizing followers of Jesus to make disciples in their countries and beyond. In the challenging environment of missions in Europe, Romanian Christians bring a glimmer of hope. Romania is roughly three percent evangelical, a leader among European nations. The church sees the need to reach communities in and around Romania, to bring transforming hope to nations once wrought with oppression and communism. OC seeks to build teamwork by serving the Partners in Mission (PIM) initiative in Romania. The Partners in Mission motto is One Body; One Mission. Churches and agencies practice this by coming together every four years to develop collaborative plans for mission in and from the country and to bring unity among church leaders. Partners in Mission and OC work together to mobilize believers in Romania. The church is growing and Romanians are poised to go into Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Through this partnership and its own direct ministry, the OC team is having a significant impact in Romania: equipping, training, and empowering the body of Christ in its one mission to make disciples of all nations! 6 Addressing the Body & Soul for churches worldwide to be the loving hands and feet of Jesus. Sports are one of the most unifying elements across any culture, age, or faith. Sixty years ago, One Challenge founders began to unleash the power of sports as a vehicle for sharing the gospel. OC has seen the Lord use the medium of sports to help churches love their communities, lead people to Christ, develop disciples, and plant churches. As athletes and community leaders share their faith through athletics and recreation, lives are being changed and communities uplifted. People who wouldn t normally visit a church are learning about Jesus on the court or field. Sports Ambassadors, an OC ministry, does this through short-term teams, training workshops, and longterm mentoring relationships. Alex, an OC worker, travels across Asia to train leaders in sports ministry. As he mentors athletes, coaches, and pastors in the Philippines, disciple-making programs and new churches are multiplying. Philippine church and community leaders are laying hold of the dynamic power of sports to reach their nation and world. o one can argue that sports and games Ntranscend language and culture, says Filipino pastor Renato. We are blessed that God led us to attend training programs on sports ministry. We are promoting this discipline in our church to impact our ministry, our community, and our mission outreaches. for sports to take the gospel to people far from God. Transforming Communities through Sports For some, hope cannot exist unless physical needs are met. This is why One Challenge seeks to help people and communities flourish in all aspects of life through the power of the Holy Spirit. In an East Asian nation, a community of leprosy affected people are now receiving hope as local believers learn to practically love those in need. olistic ministry, ministry Hgeared toward addressing the physical and spiritual needs of a community, is a growing ministry for One Challenge. One such ministry a Leprosy Care Center in East Asia works with local churches to meet the physical needs of patients and their families while also feeding their spiritual hunger. OC worker, H.C., serves to encourage families, provide medical care, and bring the hope of Christ to these marginalized people. Many arrive at the center broken and are transformed by the love of God. They enter hurting and experience wholeness through the power of the gospel.

8 Launching Into the Future OUR VISION Healthy churches working together to reach all nations. The message of God s love brings hope that can truly change the world! We seek to bring God s hope by investing in influencers passionate for God s glory and their nation s good. These are pastors, business people, community leaders, and coaches followers of Jesus, young and old, connected in fellowship and committed to multiply disciples into every sector of society. Last year OC launched exciting new ministries in creative-access countries and saw manifold people come to Christ, thousands of churches planted, scores of nations served. Building upon the past, we are launching into the future. Today OC has more requests for strategic global ministry than we have capacity.
