Therefore let us set aside this day as holy by coming together for worship. *OPENING HYMN This Is My Father s World No.293 Congregation OPENING PRAYER Remembering the commandment to keep the Sabbath day holy, we have come to acknowledge you as our God and to acknowledge Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord. Help us to keep it holy by cleansing our souls and removing anything that would hinder us from worshiping in Spirit and in truth.

2 PRAYER OF CONFESSION (in unison) You know, Lord, how we sometimes struggle to maintain an attitude that is positive, a point of view that is noble, a self-image that is accurate, a view of others that is benevolent. Forgive us where we have faltered, and help us daily to think, feel, and live as guided by you. Help us to truly accept one another as brothers and sisters in Christ, despite whatever differences we may have.

3 May we be as zealous in building the unity of the body as we are in maintaining the purity of the faith. As we speak the truth, may we always do so in love. May the human distinctions of politics, race, social status, and worship style never detract from our relationship as Christian believers. May our differences be overshadowed by our common faith and united purpose. May we never disrespect you by disrespecting one another. 6 ANNOUNCEMENTS AND MEETINGS Happy Birthday wishes to all those born in October. Theresa Wilson's aunt Mrs. Lucinda Parsons of Salisbury MD, passed away on Tuesday, September 27th. She was 102 years old. Her funeral was on October 1, May she rest in peace. Please keep Theresa and her family in your prayers. Thelma Jones funeral will be at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, October 5 at Northminster. Session Meeting will be on Tuesday, October 11th at 7:00 pm in Room 206. Ladies in Fellowship Together. 7 NORTHMINSTER PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH MINISTRY DIVISIONS The Session of Northminster Presbyterian Church is organized into four ministry divisions: The Administrative Division oversees the Budget, Finance and Fund Raising activities of the Church. In addition, this Division is responsible for nominating new officers (Elders and Deacons) and coordinating Trustee and Deacon Activities. The Administrative Division meets on the first Sunday of the month after church. The Communication Division coordinates Northminster s Worship & Music, Christian Education, Mission, and Social Witness activities. The Communication Division meets on the second Sunday of the month after church. The Stewardship Division directs the Stewardship activities of the Church and is responsible for Personnel matters. The Division meets after church on the third Sunday of each month. The New and Current Membership Division oversees Northminster s Fellowship and Evangelism activities and coordinates the continuing nurture of our members. The Membership Division meets on the fourth Sunday of each month after church. All ministry Division meetings are open (unless otherwise stated) and we want to hear from you.
