In that way the fearful devil cannot fall upon us, surprise us, and deprive us of your precious word or stir up strife and factions among us and lead us into other sin and disgrace, both spiritually and physically. Rather grant us wisdom and strength through your spirit that we may valiantly resist him and gain the victory. Amen. 7 APOSTLE S CREED I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen PRAYERS OF INTERCESSION P: Growing in faith and discipleship, we give thanks for God s merciful compassion as we pray for the church, the world, and all in need. A brief silence. A: Holy God, send out your church to cross boundaries for the sake of your holy compassion. Use our words and our actions to bring peace and wholeness to all people. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer. A: Bountiful God, all creation is a gift from you. Protect the earth from disaster and misuse. A: Mighty God, protect and bless all civil servants, local government officials, and those who work for our safety and security. Help us to be thoughtful citizens and good neighbors in our community. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer. A: We commend to your gracious care and keeping all the men and women of our armed forces at home and abroad. Defend them day by day with your heavenly grace; strengthen them in their trials and temptations; give them courage to face the perils that surround them; and grant them a sense of your abiding presence wherever they may be. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer. P: Merciful God, give us faith and make us whole. Ease the anxiety of undiagnosed or chronic illness. Soothe the heartache of miscarriage or infertility. THIRD QUARTER GIVING JUG. (July, Aug., and Sept.) Alzheimer's Association advances research to end Alzheimer's and dementia while enhancing care for those living with the disease. Alzheimer's is a type of dementia that causes problems with memory, thinking and behavior. Symptoms usually develop slowly and get worse over time, becoming severe enough to interfere with daily tasks. The mission of the Alzheimer's Association is to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care for all those affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health. We have a few members of our congregation that are dealing with Alzheimer s/dementia and would love to support this disease. VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL NEEDS.
