2 ENGAGE, ENCOURAGE, EMPOWER Our theme this year is, Pray For America: UNITY, taken from Ephesians 4:3, which says, Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. As the 2018 National Day of Prayer on May 3rd approaches, thousands of individuals, churches, and communities will be working to rally millions of Christians to once again heed this call. Scripture tells us again and again that our fervent prayer is effective. That our loving God responds to His childrens earnest pleas in mighty ways that avail much, and ultimately determine the course of history. If you would like to sponsor an event, become a volunteer, or obtain resources to help promote an event in your area, visit our website at NationalDayofPrayer.org. 1 2 Step One Develop Your Plan We ve created this step-by-step plan to help you and your mobilization team promote the annual National Day of Prayer in your local communities. Whether you hold one large event, or multiple smaller events, we have numerous tools and resources available to assist you. Appoint a coordinator to head up planning and promotion. Assemble a prayer team to support the event with prayer. Together, create a calendar and determine the dates, as well as the times and locations for your NDP events. Step Two Promote Your Event Posters, bulletin or program covers, bulletin inserts, graphics, and announcement copy are available through our web shop or for download. We ve left space on several of the items so that you can customize with your own church or community information. Outdoor promotional tools such as yard signs, banners, door hangers and more are available to aid you in reaching out to your neighborhood or to your entire community. We also created local radio spots, PSA s, promotional video, advertising spots for newspapers, memes for Facebook, and web banners available on our website under media and promotional tools to help you promote in your local media and online. 3 Step Three Host Your Event Leading up to the event, communicate each week with your groups or congregations by and social media to invite them and remind them of the event taking place. Host your National Day of Prayer Event and gather feedback and testimonies that can then be shared with members of your community or church to encourage them to continue to pray fervently for America! 2
