Sacred Heart Parish offers sympathy to Brent and Anne Kugler on the death of his mother, Thelma; to Jeanne and Bruce Gorman on the recent death of her mother, Rose Samela; and to the family of Kaytlin Sloniker who died recently. The Parish extends its congratulations to the families of Wyatt Mason Montgomery and Kingson William Cime, who were recently baptized.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION REGISTRATION forms for the school year are available in the Narthex and in the Parish Office. *Please take note that there has been a change in the days available and the times the classes will be held*. Register before June 19 th in order to guarantee that your child gets the spot you want and to receive the $10 discount. NO SHEEP until next fall. Have a great summer! PARENTS NIGHT OUT Our Youth Group will be hosting a night of babysitting on Friday, May 26 th, in the Activity Center. This is a fund raiser for their trip to Steubenville. Bring your little ones from 6:30 10:00 pm and have the night off. Register with Kristin at by Thursday, May 25 th. Youth Corner Watch this space for updates on summer activities. MAKER FUN FACTORY Created by God Built for a Purpose This year our Vacation Bible School-Maker Fun Factory - will be held in the afternoons (1:00-3:30) during the week of June 19 th through June 23 rd. I will need several adults to start NOW to help plan stations such as GAMES, SNACKS, BI- BLE STORIES and more. Please call Kristin at so we can put on an enjoyable week! 4 In Our Parish... FATHER S DAY CARDS Honor your father, living or deceased, with a beautiful Father s Day Card and special prayers. Cards will be offered by the Council of Catholic Women before C C W SACRED HEART MEN S GROUP Men, how's your prayer life? Do you know how to pray? In past Men's Group meetings, a number of men have struggled with this topic. Are you one of them? If so, why not join us this Thursday, May 25 th, as we continue the Alpha series and address the topic, "Why and how do I pray?" We will meet in the Activity Center at 7 pm on Thursday. We serve a light meal before we begin. Please consider joining us. and after Mass May 27 th thru June 11 th. We ask a donation of $5. All proceeds go to further Diocesan PRO-LIFE initiatives. WEDNESDAY STUDY GROUP The Bible and the Virgin Mary Held Wednesday, May 22 nd, at 10:00 am in Bldg. C. We will have a rerun of past lessons or series. Join us for spiritual growth and fellowship. SOLES for TOTS and NEEDY FAMILIES SHOE DRIVE Sacred Heart Parish is joining with the Clay County Marine Corps League to conduct a shoe drive for the Needy of Clay County. For the next two weeks, please donate new and gently used shoes by tying them together and placing them in the shoe barrel we will have set up out side the Church. No high heels please all other styles and sizes welcome. CRITICAL shoe size needs are male and female Youth sizes 1 through 8. Last year, more that 4,000 pairs of shoes were collected. Help make this yea s drive a success. Remember Tie the shoes together!

5 Around the Diocese... Marriage Preparation Marriage Preparation: To schedule a wedding, an engaged couple must meet with their parish priest or deacon at least eight months before their proposed wedding date. Preparation for the sacrament includes attending a diocesan program such as Engaged Encounter or Pre Cana. Also, couples of childbearing age will need to take a full course of Natural Family Planning. Pre-registration for each of these programs is mandatory. The next Engaged Encounter will be June 16 th -18 th at Marywood Retreat Center. The next Pre Cana program will be September 9 th in Jacksonville. Your generosity makes our mission possible. Thank you also for the 253 pound food donation in March and the 317 pound donation of food in April, which provides assistance to Clay County families needing emergency food. Thank you for continued assistance in helping the less fortunate in our community. The Pantry Volunteers A Retreat for Women: Emptying Your Cup: Finding Peace through Letting Go Join us for a half day retreat of quiet reflection, prayer rituals, and sharing on what and how we need to "let go" of things in our lives in order to have room to "fill our cup" with God's unconditional love. Emptying Your Cup is an On The Journey Retreat sponsored by Within Ministries Where: Marywood Retreat and Conference Center When: Saturday, June 24 th, from 8:30 am to 12:15 pm Participant Fee: $45* per person and includes personal journal or $54* per person to include lunch (*plus Eventbrite processing fee).
