We will have some Executive Board meetings at College Heights, but we will also be using other churches in the association for these meetings in the future. Primera Iglesia Bautista of has offered us their fellowship hall for our Executive Board Meeting on Tuesday, May 25 at 10 am. The church is located at 128 Belle Street. HELP WILL BE NEEDED TO MOVE There are a lot of things that need to be done before the signing of papers on May 26. We will be throwing away a lot of things that need to thrown away. We will also have some furniture that may be bought by churches, individuals, etc. available. We will be taking some things with us, but not much. Shelves/storage need to be built or bought, walls need painted, and new carpet, new phone system, and internet connections put in. If you have a flat bed trailer that we can use to haul off garbage, please let us know. Help will be needed to load the things that will be taken to College Heights. We want to do this on or before Saturday, May 22. Please call us if you would be able to help at this time. 5 HAPPENINGS IN COLORADO BAPTIST ASSOCIATION Continued First Baptist Church of Blessing April has been a great month and a tough month. The Easter season was so great and seems we have so many folks that are having to travel for work. It may not be that noticed in a large church, but in ours it is major when you lose 4 families to work related causes, and these families were very close and played leadership roles. I know God is sovereign and knows what we have need of, but it created a vacuum so to speak in our fellowship. We are in full swing for V.B.S. scheduled for June 7 to June 9. Our theme is Creation and again we have Bro. Carl Carrigan coming to do the teaching. We begin a one Sunday service with Bro. Carl on June 6 and we start V.B.S. on the 7th. God is still on the throne and I know all will turn out as He has purposed. Bro Larry Swift is the pastor. First Baptist of Columbus The church had a time of Reconnecting to with your family on April 17 & 18 during our Spring Family Life Weekend, Dr. Stan Coffey of Amarillo was the keynote speaker to encourage families in our church and in our community. It was a wonderful weekend. Victor Morrison is the pastor. First Baptist Church, Eagle Lake: Ten people from FBC devoted one week to go on mission with God to Progreso, Texas from March We built two 8 ft x 8 ft bathroom units which now adjoin two family homes. Since we came expecting to build stand alone structures, we had some extra work to do! But a student group from Wake Forest University rose to the occasion, learning everything from the right way to swing a hammer to the wrong way to paper a roof (under the pastor s instruction, of course.) We also helped the Sublime Gracia Baptist Church stock their food pantry and gave their children s area a makeover. The bookcases our church constructed and our kids painted so beautifully were delivered for a family reading fair, held on March 18th. 25 area families now have books and a Bible in their own home. That s a foundation laid for their education, and also for their faith. Kevin Collison is the pastor. ASSOCIATION MISSIONS WEEK MAY In an everchanging world, churches face new challenges and opportunities for Great Commission Impact. The local Baptist Associational is ready to help your church with strategies, resources, and training for effective evangelism, church starting and volunteer mobilization. The Baptist Association: each church on the forward edge of the Great Commission and churches working together for even greater impact.
