6 VILLAGE CHURCH PRESCHOOL Pamela Miller Preschool Director 2018 FEATURES Social Media continues to showcase the activities, projects and discoveries at Village Church Preschool. Be sure to Like us on Facebook. Our preschool chapel time is taught by Pastor Neal. The children look forward each month to what Pastor Neal has in store for them. In addition to music, stretching and a bit of humor, Pastor Neal shares the love of God and His word in the simplest of terms that even our youngest students are engaged. Pastor Neal uses the same curriculum as The Village Church Children s Ministry, so when our families attend church there is continuity EVENTS Our parent group, Village Connection, sponsored our Fall Celebration inviting Rhythm Child featuring Norm. He kept 50 children ages 2-5 years old engaged for 1 hour. Norm preforms his drumming across the nation, even visiting the White House! Our Summer Camp Program was a big success as the children went on a Trip Around the World. They visited Australia, Africa, China and Brazil - four fun packed weeks of travel without leaving San Diego. The preschool started a new Infant/ Toddler Music Class for children 4 months to age 2 with our incredibly talented music teacher, Miss Kelli. All families are welcome. 2018: A JOYFUL SCHOOL YEAR!

11 CHILDREN S CHOIR Myra Cullum Children s Choir Director Myra_Thrower@yahoo.com TINY HEARTS touched by GOD, tuned in praise! This year, the Children s Choirs sang in both the 9:00 and 10:30 AM worship services. During rehearsals, the children learn not only musicianship, choral technique, and music theory, but also key elements of the faith so that our music is more than a performance we are actually offering our songs as worship to the One True God. On April 22 and 29, we presented A Tale of Three Trees, a lively yet poignant musical drama which looked at the Easter story through the eyes of three trees. This musical was a collaborative effort with the Children s Choirs from Solana Beach Presbyterian Church and was performed during worship services. In September 2018, the choirs started a new season. With twenty-one singers, we began tuning our hearts and voices in praise to God. October 28, All Saints Day, the Children and Youth Choirs helped lead worship with a powerful morning of music, including Martin Luther s A Mighty Fortress Is Our God. DO YOU KNOW A child who needs to be part of this wonderful music ministry? Please Contact: MYRA CULLUM Children s Choir Director myra_thrower@yahoo.com In an outreach to the community, children prepared songs for our Annual Thanksgiving Program at the Glen Brook Nursing Center. The residents look forward to the children coming and filling the room to the brim. They even sing along with us! Children s and Youth Choirs sang in Christmas Eve Worship at 2:00 PM, ending 2018 by joyously sharing news of our Savior s birth. The Children s Choirs look forward to another Spring Musical in May, as well as singing as part of worship throughout 2019.
