Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved. Let us claim the salvation offered in Jesus Christ through the confession of our sin and the expression of our need for His grace in our lives. SILENT PRAYER PRAYER OF CONFESSION Unison: Almighty God, forgive our attempts to save ourselves and down play Your work of grace. 3 ASSURANCE OF PARDON (Luke 13:22-30) Leader: Then Jesus went through the towns and villages, teaching as He made His way to Jerusalem. Someone asked Him, Lord, are only a few people going to be saved? He said to them, Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to. Once the owner of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside knocking and pleading, Sir, open the door for us. " But He will answer, I don t know you or where you come from. " Then you will say, We ate and drank with You, and You taught in our streets. But He will reply, I don t know you or where you come from. Away from me all you evildoers! " There will be weeping there, and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but you yourselves thrown out. People will come from east and west and north and south, and will take their places at the feast in the kingdom of God. Indeed there are those who are last who will be first, and first who will be last. Sisters and brothers in Christ, believe the good news: you are forgiven through faith in Jesus Christ. AFFIRMATION OF FAITH The Confession of 1967 Unison: The same Jesus Christ is the judge of all men. His judgment discloses the ultimate seriousness of life and gives promise of God s final victory over the power of sin and death. To receive life from the risen Lord is to have life eternal; to refuse life from Him is to choose the death which is separation from God. All who put their trust in Christ face divine judgment without fear, for the judge is their redeemer. Billy Graham ---Stewardship Committee Today is the last day to take orders for Easter Lilies. Children need to bring their money from their mission banks to the Children's Sermon today, March 29, to put in the Noisy Bucket. The last Lenten Breakfast for this year is: April 1, at St. Mary s Catholic Church, 11 W. Linn Street. Breakfast will start at 6:30 a.m. followed by a Lenten message. The host congregation is asked to finish by 7:15 a.m. The theme for this season will be "Lessons of the Cross." Everyone is encouraged to attend. Holy Week begins with the 6 th Sunday of Lent, which is Palm Sunday, March 29. The Worship and Music Committee will be preparing and serving a Maundy Thursday Taco Bar that will be held on Thursday, April 2, at 6:00 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. The W & M Committee will provide the taco supplies, drinks, and table settings. Pastor Dave Beckmann will lead the Maundy Thursday service followed by a Communion service at 7:00 p.m. On Good Friday, April 3, the youth will lead worship for the service that will take place at 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary. An Easter Sunrise Service, led by the Confirmation class, will be held on April 5, at 7:00 a.m. The Flapjacks will serve a Pancake Breakfast in Fellowship Hall at 7:45 a.m. following the Sunrise Service. All are welcome to attend. Easter Service with Communion, led by Pastor King, will be held April 5, at 9:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary. Sunday school for all ages and Confirmation will be held at 10:15 a.m.
